Full Job Description
Responsibilities include:
In the near term, while gaining an understanding of our process the role will focus on assisting the PM team with trading. This will cover:
- Putting on trades using algos via our OMS / PMS system Eze
- Monitoring algo performance via TCA reports and recommending changes to algos and execution counterparties
- Working with others in the further development of TCA reports
- Executing futures trades via either high or low touch o Interacting with prime brokers and others to gain market colour on blocks to enable more efficient trade execution
- Alerting the PM team of breaking news of price action(s) that are relevant to the day’s trades
- Monitoring trades for trade failures o Locating stock borrows
- Interacting with our prime brokers and others to gain market colour on borrow with the view of mitigating recall risk and upward price rerating
- Determining FX hedge amounts
- Executing FX hedging o Assisting with various aspects of managing multiple segregated accounts (pari-passu to the main funds)
- As a junior PM, when the time comes, a willingness to accept and be responsible for running a sleeve of risk and being a fiduciary to our funds and clients.
- Assisting the PM team in attribution analysis and performance measurement as this will aid understanding of what drives our process.
- As a back-up, working with others in the preparation of PowerPoint slides related to performance or the portfolio and its performance.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or above with good academic grades (equivalent of a 2.1 or better)
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a portfolio management environment.
- Must have some trading, analyst (quant or fundamental), or assistant PM type experience.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with PowerPoint
- Experience with Python and VBA is a plus
- Experience with any OMS / PMS a plus
- Fluent in English.
