Qualifications
The ideal candidate will hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related discipline, have an outstanding background in both education and research, and possess a significant publication record of original and distinctive research. Preference will be given to candidates whose research complements and synergizes with ongoing activities across IAPME and in the surrounding community. The position is expected to establish a strong research program conducting high-impact research to solve real world problems.
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in Fall 2026.
Remuneration
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200 (approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor, MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful applicants' academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions. What We Offer
The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 3 years initially with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three-year fixed-term contract.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
