The role of Account Manager, Key Relationships is a key position within the Global Key Relationship team at Mastercard that will be a great career opportunity specifically for a banking, finance and payments industry professional with strong track records in relationship management, business development and sales.
- Reporting to the Senior Account Lead, Key Relationships for Asia Pacific Middle East & Africa (APMEA) region, this role offers a unique opportunity to manage all aspects of the Mastercard relationship primarily with business units of Global Customer Banks in APMEA
- Based in Hong Kong, the role will require to support team members as business needs demand.
- The position requires a self-motivated, commercially pragmatic, business development person with singular focus on delivery of sales pipeline with strong relationship and management and influencing skills to partner with Mastercard's cross functional and country business teams to create and implement impactful card and payments programs for Global Customer Banks that drive Mastercard and bank business.
- The ideal candidate must possess solid payments industry experience in the APMEA region, preferably gained in product management with a bank on both the payment cards and the transaction banking side and with the ability to work across multiple disciplines, functions and cultures. Customer facing and/or institutional sales and business development experience is desirable.
- Strategic vision and the ability to think quickly with an eye to creating differential advantage for Global Customer Banks whilst balancing the interests of MasterCard will be essential to success in this role.
Key responsibilities:
1. To partner with Mastercard colleagues and Global Customer Banks teams(Consumer Banking and Wholesale banking) to create programs that contribute competitive advantage and business growth for both Bank and MasterCard in the APMEA region, subsequently contributing to the delivery the APMEA revenue plan for MasterCard.
2. To utilize industry and customer knowledge to seek out new business opportunities in the market across all product lines and segments including new vistas of payment opportunities.

Key Result Areas:

Required Experience:

- At least 10 years of debit and/or credit products experience either at a financial institution, processor and/or payments company, or network preferably in product management or development capacity or similar business with in-depth exposure to credit cards.
- Extensive business development as well as product/ or marketing experience within financial services and should demonstrate an aptitude to work and influence across functions/disciplines (marketing, operations, technology, risk etc).
- Excellent communication skills including presentations to senior management and the ability to translate Mastercard's strategies and business goals.
- Detailed understanding of payment products including metrics from the industry level to the individual program P&L level.
