Key job responsibilities
Overview
This role is for an experienced EHS Manager, Safety Specialist or Safety Engineer. The roles prime responsibility will be to support the safety operations in Hong Kong, China. As well as this, there may be opportunities to support other regions or countries.
The chosen person must be an effective communicator, sending clear, concise and consistent messages verbally, in written form, and/or public speaking forums. This individual must advise, instruct and train company personnel on safety policies and procedures, as well as assist the teams in incorporating our safety standards at their sites.
You will work with internal and external partners to maintain and enhance the safety of operations and achieve specific safety objectives. Coordination with business leaders, employees, vendors, compliance officers, risk management, and fire/life safety systems is required.
This role will report to the Regional Safety Manager - Greater China and will be based in Hong Kong. Some domestic and international travel is required. English speaking and writing proficiency is required.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Implement safety standards, policies and practices including but not limited to: safety management systems, training, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with other departments within Amazon (Facility Managers, Human Resources, Hardware Operations, Construction and etc.) and outside vendors (General Contractors, sub-contractors, Emergency Services) as they relate to operations and construction.
- Ensure compliance and implementation of global safety programs and local regulatory legislation.
- Develop safety plans for on-site emergencies, special events and other unique safety situations.
- Perform safety data analysis and create benchmarking.
- Ensure safety recordkeeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics to support business safety initiatives.
- Consult and work with legal for safety regulations interpretations and investigations.
- Develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to health and safety risks and prevent injury.
- Adapt to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, strategy and deadlines.

Basic Qualifications
- 5 or more years of field experience with a proven record of safety.
- Minimum college/university degree in a safety and health field or experience equivalent.

All on site life extensions, repairs and inspection-related service activities for installed fleets and supervision for construction and commissioning of new and existing equipment, able to be performed at customer site. The Field Service Engineer, JAPAC is responsible for delivering the introduction of highly complex new equipment and its troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair services and etc. This position is also required the capability to standardize that experience broadly across the organization, ultimately serving as a team leader.

+ Ensure compliance with standard service procedures by accurately managing and submitting service reports, expense reports, and spare parts records.
+ Collaborate with Technical Support, Product Support, Sales, Application Scientists, and channel partners to drive product improvement, successful demonstrations, and service revenue growth.
+ Build strong relationships with customers and partners in Hong Kong and Macau, promote service offerings (Service Plans, Compliance, and Time-and-Materials), and support business expansion through frequent travel (approximately 25-50%).
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ A minimum of five years of experience as a Field Service Engineer supporting high-end, complex instruments.
+ Strong understanding of service operations, including service processes, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
+ Proven experience working with or managing channel partners, distributors, or third-party service providers to support service delivery and drive business growth.
+ Knowledge of life science applications, including experience with biological samples, assays, and instrument maintenance.

**Role Mission**
The Production Engineer will provide technical support to manufacturing operations by ensuring production equipment and automated machinery run efficiently and reliably. The role is highly hands-on and focused on troubleshooting, corrective and preventive maintenance coordination, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
**What your responsibilities will be**
- You will provide day-to-day technical and breakdown support to production teams and automated manufacturing equipment.
- You will troubleshoot machinery and production line issues, identify root causes, and coordinate corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- You will support operators remotely or on-site and assist in improving workflows and equipment usage.
- You will coordinate preventive maintenance activities, annual servicing, calibrations, and external contractor interventions.
- You will work closely with Procurement to ensure spare parts availability and timely maintenance planning.
- You will contribute to process improvement, automation initiatives, and engineering modifications across manufacturing operations.
- You will maintain accurate technical documentation and ensure compliance with GMP, quality, and safety standards.
**Who you are ?**
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or related Engineering discipline.
- 3-5 years of experience in Production Engineering, Equipment Maintenance, or manufacturing environments.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or industrial production environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to automated machinery and production equipment.
- Basic understanding of automation systems, PLCs, and computer networking.
- Experience coordinating maintenance activities, external contractors, and vendors.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
