• Evaluate AI model performance through rigorous testing, benchmarking, and algorithm refinements to enhance reliability and accuracy
• Implement industry best practices and security protocols for AI model development and deployment, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and mitigating risks associated with adversarial attacks and vulnerabilities
• Stay updated on emerging AI security trends, risks, and compliance challenges
• Own and manage security assurance projects in both security analysis and project management capacity, coordinating efforts across internal stakeholders and meeting project milestones
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze security risks in critical systems and ensure compliance with security standards
• Document identified security risks, track remediation efforts, and provide regular updates to key stakeholders, including senior management
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered
• Proficiency in programming with languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar, and experience working with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other ML libraries
• Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, natural language processing (NLP), and fine-tuning large language models (LLMs)
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage AI projects, including requirement gathering, development, deployment, and evaluation
• Experience in building automated workflows for security-related processes using relevant tools and platforms is a plus
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk assessment, and AI-specific security methodologies is a plus
• Adaptive problem-solver with a detailed analytical mindset, capable of working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Good communication skills in English, with experience documenting technical workflows and providing insights to diverse stakeholders

At BJAK, we’re using AI to reinvent how financial services work across Southeast Asia - making them smarter, simpler, and more inclusive. As a Founding AI Engineer, you’ll bridge machine learning and software engineering to deliver real AI-powered features into users’ hands.

This is a remote role based in Hong Kong, working closely with our Malaysia HQ and cross-functional regional teams. You’ll operate across the stack - from backend logic and ML integration to frontend delivery - building intelligent systems that scale fast and matter deeply.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 2 - 4 years of experience in full stack development (frontend + backend)
• Experience integrating ML models into production systems
• Familiarity with REST APIs, cloud deployment, and scalable architecture
• Comfortable working with SQL/NoSQL databases and distributed systems
• Strong grasp of software design patterns, testing, and debugging
• Must be based in Hong Kong and open to remote collaboration with international teams

Nice to Have

• Experience deploying ML models using tools like FastAPI, Flask, or TensorFlow Serving
• Familiarity with modern frontend stacks like Next.js, Vue, or TypeScript
• Exposure to ML tools like MLflow, Airflow, Docker, GCP, or AWS
• Background in high-growth startups or agile product teams
• Interest in explainable AI, visualizations, or surfacing complex ML outputs to end users
