Specific Skills

• At least 10 years experience on airborne system developing or testing, with at least 5 years of experience in engineering team leadership role.

• Experience working with and advising on software tools for development, testing, and certification.

Responsible For

• Internally support the supplementation and improvement of the model based airborne system development processes.

• To prepare credit reviews, credit applications, waiver requests, borrower ratings which include recommendations, within due dates, in accordance to the Bank’s internal guidelines and credit appetite. When producing the review or application, sound credit analysis, sensitivity analysis on financial models (to ensure it remains accurate and relevant), and examination of the key points and concerns will have to be clearly articulated so the credit offices can understand the key points.
• To undertake appropriate identification of early warning indicators, risks issues, close monitoring of and reporting on the status of the borrower and underlying project conditions, including escalating to appropriate departments where applicable. To prepare and host monthly Close Watch meetings.
• Actively managing the overall risk profile of the borrower, effective obligor or transaction and to recommend changes where necessary to mitigate risks.
• To prepare borrower ratings and cash flow projections in rating reviews.
• To play an active supporting role on refinancing and potential work-out transactions, where required.
• To actively support the negotiation of waiver terms and amendment documents, where required.
• To co-work on secondary loan transfers and loan participation, where required.

We are looking for an Senior Associate level lawyer with minimum 5 years' post qualification experience to join our Hong Kong or Singapore office. This opportunity involves aviation regulatory, insurance matters and claims acting on behalf of major insurance companies and airlines. This opportunity involves working directly for Partner Terence Liew, consistently ranked across various legal directories including the Legal 500, Doyles Guide, Singapore Business Review and Chambers Asia Pacific for his expertise. Terence has extensive experience in multi-jurisdictional, high value aviation insurance matters and claims, acting on behalf of global major insurance companies, airlines, GA operators, leasing companies and airports and airport service providers. In addition to the litigious side, in this role you will also assist the Partner in advising clients on complex insurance coverage and regulatory matters.
The team advises clients based in Asia and also those in the London and European markets. You will be exposed to a varied practice, and the nature and size of the team will mean that you will be heavily involved in all aspects of matters allowing you the autonomy and development opportunity to drive and make a significant contribution to the matter outcome.
Key Responsibilities

• Advising clients on policy coverage issues and quantum across various types of insurance, from mid-size losses to large and complex claims.
• Advising and representing airlines in matters arising from major accidents.
• Drafting and reviewing policy wording and providing advice on areas of legal risk for clients.
• Advising on regulatory and dispute resolution matters.
• Assisting the Partner in managing and building client relationships, including assisting with business development activities for key existing clients and new clients.
• Collaboration and mentoring to work with the wider team across Singapore and Hong Kong.
  

Candidate Profile
You Are Either Already At Senior Associate Level Or Ready To Step Up. You Have a Solid Litigation Background Ideally Gained Within a Top Tier Private Practice Law Firm Environment. You Ideally Meet Some Of The Below Criteria

• 5 years post qualification experience in Hong Kong or Singapore acting for and advising clients.
• Due to client need, UK, HK or common law jurisdiction qualification desired.
• Strong general litigation background with understanding of insurance, regulatory, or aviation liability matters and claims.
• Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Experience working with reputable or international law firms is preferred.
• A genuine desire to build on and expand your skillset within a global law firm context.
• Strong academics, with excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
• A self-driven, can-do attitude and approach, and enthusiasm to contribute to and foster a positive team atmosphere.

Responsible For

• Internally support the supplementation and improvement of the model based airborne system development processes.
• Provide expert guidance to clients on the design, development, and certification of airborne systems, ensuring compliance with aviation standards such as SAE ARP4754A.
• Develop and deliver customized consulting services, including technical reviews, process improvements, and system design solutions, tailored to clients' specific needs.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, understanding their requirements and providing actionable solutions to meet both technical and regulatory goals.
• Conduct workshops, training sessions, and presentations to educate client teams on airborne system development processes and standards.
• Guide clients through system engineering life cycle management, from initial concept, planning to requirements definition and integration, testing, and certification., etc.
• Develop and implement tailored system engineering development methodologies, processes, and tools to enhance client project outcomes.
• Proactively identify and introduce new tools, techniques, and best practices that can improve the system development and certification processes for clients.
