  • Implement HKHS site team management policies and procedures at the assigned sites.
  • Manage the performance of contractors to quality standards and monitor site progress and maintain project timeline.
  • Identify delays, discrepancies, conflicts or other anomalies and prompt relevant parties and implement solutions.
  • Endorse the selection of consultant’s resident site staff.
  • Oversee the handover process and procedures of completed projects to other divisions.
  • Follow up on complaints and monitor defect rectification works for completed projects.
  • Ensure compliance with the site safety requirements stipulated in the works contract & relevant statutory regulations

The Person

  • Degree qualified in Building, Engineering, Architecture or other construction related disciplines,
  • Preferably with relevant professional qualifications such as MCIOB, MHKICM, MHKIE or equivalent.
  • Preferably with knowledge of 4S/BIM/DWSS
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction management with experience in managerial positions for construction project.
  • Proven experience in construction or project management with relevant exposure in residential projects in the private/public sector, preferably completed project as PM in charge from initial stage to final handover to flat owners.
  • Good leadership, interpersonal and communication skills and supervisory experience, proactive and self-motivated.
  • Good command of spoken and written English and Cantonese.
  • Familiar with construction site safety, environmental and relevant legislations.
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for the position of Deputy Manager (Construction).

We are seeking an experienced Data Centre Construction Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical facilities in Japan. The position can be based in Osaka or Tokyo. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, high-value construction projects, working at the forefront of data centre development. You will be responsible for managing every stage of construction and project delivery, ensuring that the facilities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the on-site delivery of new data centre builds and major upgrade/expansion projects, overseeing all aspects from groundbreaking to handover.
  • Act as the primary client representative, maintaining strong communication and alignment with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the project execution plan, ensuring schedules, budgets, and resources are effectively coordinated.
  • Partner with design teams to validate constructability, drive value engineering, and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Direct and integrate the efforts of multiple contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, including all aspects of contract administration.
  • Track and assess construction progress and quality, resolving technical or logistical issues proactively.
  • Ensure full compliance with building codes, safety legislation, and internal standards at all stages of the project.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, embedding best practices to achieve a zero-incident work environment.
  • Provide clear, timely project updates and performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Continuously seek and implement process improvements to optimise project delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects, ideally within the data centre or mission-critical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction management, MEP systems, and design-build processes.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage multiple contractors simultaneously.
  • Experience in budget control, schedule management, and contract administration.
  • Solid understanding of Japanese building codes, safety regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in Japanese is required.

In this position, you will join our Hong Kong Buildings business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of Built Environment projects such as schools, data centres, casinos and a variety of Government projects.

  • Carry out site supervision and/ or conduct design coordination;
  • Inspect, supervise and monitor the material and workmanship quality to ensure that it is up to contract requirements and Hong Kong legislations;
  • Liaise with consultants and contractors on site matters;
  • Prepare reports and keep records of works carried out and the work progress on site
  • Control, monitor and attend testing & commissioning activities; and
  • Prepare defect list to contractors and monitor defects rectification progress and results.

  • Higher Diploma or Higher certificate holder in Mechanical or Electrical or Building Services discipline;
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience with minimum 4 years of site experience in the capacity of BSI;
  • Data Centre site experience will be an advantage;
  • Registered Electrical Worker (REW) in Grade B Electrical Worker will be an advantage; and
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing direction of Engineering and hotel management. Continually work towards and support both guests and associates.

  • Perform all carpentry work throughout the hotel.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee(s) will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Marking of assignments, tests, and examination;
  • Undertaking the teaching and tutorial of courses (including classroom / laboratory teaching) in related disciplines at degree level;
  • Providing consultation to students and performing other teaching-related and administrative duties; and
  • Assisting in course planning and development as well as participating in School / University activities.

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Building Engineering, or a related discipline;
  • Candidates with past experience in relevant course content and laboratory work are preferred;
  • Relevant teaching or professional experience is preferred; and
  • Proficiency in both Chinese, English, and Putonghua will be an advantage.

KCI Management Consultancy Limited specializes in providing property development, project management, construction contract and commercial management, and building information modelling (BIM) services to clients in Hong Kong and overseas. Our team is equipped with high-caliber consultants, led by our founder and director, Mr. KC Chang, an FRICS, FCInstCES, FHKIS, FCIArb, experienced expert witness and arbitrator, as well as a part-time lecturer in contract administration and quantity surveying subjects in HK. We also offer seminars to local construction companies on quantity surveying and claims and provide tailor-made in-house seminars on specific topics in construction contracts.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Construction Contracts Consultant and Quantity Surveyor, located in the Hong Kong SAR. The consultant will be responsible for day-to-day tasks including advising on contracts, preparation of EOT and cost claims, cost control, supervising the preparation of BOQ/SOR, cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting. The consultant can also be involved in preparation of expert reports on quantum and delay matters, and various types of dispute resolution forum. Additionally, the consultant will also be participated in seminars and training sessions.

Qualifications

  • You must be situated in Hong Kong and can work legally in Hong Kong. Candidates not located in Hong Kong at the time of application need not apply.
  • You muat be bi-lingual, able to speak (Cantonese & Mandarin)and write Chinese and English
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering or a related field,
  • Chartered or qualified quantity surveyor preferred but not mandatory,
  • 3 to 5 years experience in quantity surveying, contract management,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese,
  • Proficiency in cost control, cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting is required,
  • Experience in preparation of EOT / cost claims will be an advantage,
  • Experience in the contract administration from either contractor or consultant side,
  • Experience in preparing BOQ/SOR,
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
