We are looking for aspiring and suitably qualified individuals to join our Capital Works Business Unit (CWBU), where we work with our stakeholders to create sustainable transport solutions for the community, and we care for our staff and provide a great place to work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage contractors on the installation, renewal, upgrading, modification and refurbishment of Platform Screen Doors (PSD) and Automatic Platform Gate (APG) related assets as well as other special projects relating to traction power supply, communication systems and other railway related systems
  • Monitor project progress and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and in compliance with specific requirements on quality, safety and environment
  • Review contractor's submissions, monitor and report all site activities, including work progress, testing and commissioning, defect rectification and as-built drawings

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 4 years' relevant experiences in PSD/APG/E&M engineering related projects in an operating railway environment, of which 2 years should be in project management
  • Possession of Corporate Membership of a recognised professional institution is preferred
  • Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills and able to work independently

Remarks

  • Appointment will be made on two-year renewable contract terms
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Construction Support Engineer position

The Job

  • Diploma/Higher Diploma in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience related to quantity surveying

  • Preferably with some knowledge in preparation of sub-letting contracts, assessment of variations, measurement, estimating and cost control and tendering
  • Experience or interest in swimming pool/spa facilities/fountain projects/water projects/plumbing projects is a plus
  • Team work to participate in daily quantity surveying role
  • Assist in tender preparation, material ordering, measuring and valuing variation orders etc.
  • Assist in a wide range of duties including administration of main contracts and sub-contracts, cost estimation, cost control and budgeting, material procurement, contractual claims and subcontractors’ claims etc
  • Preparation of Cost, Estimates for the Project and recast into Project Control Budget;
  • Assist Contract Administration activities related major engineering and construction contracts;
  • Assist in Project Management with assessments of Contractors' Estimates/Change Orders and provide recommendations when required Benchmark contractor estimates against company historical cost database;
  • Report to Contract / Project Manager

As a Senior Loss Adjuster, you will manage the end-to-end processing of claims - from investigation to settlement - ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files.   • 10-15+ years of relevant Data Center (Must Have) project management experience, particularly in:

1.Hyperscale Data Centre (Must Have 5+ years) - Design, Build and Site Construction Engineering

2.Live Data Center Modification

3.Greenfield and Brownfield Site Developments

  • Possess a strong network relationship in the vendor and regulatory ecosystem.
  • Presentable and confident in client facing. Able to deliver projects within cost, quality and time parameters
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities, and strategic mindset to advise and manage both internal and external partners.
  • Flexibility with business travelling occasionally
  • Working exposure in APAC region/ Global would be an advantage
  • Chartered or a Licensed Professional Engineer would be an advantage, but not mandatory
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Speaks very fluent Chinese and English

  • a recognized degree preferably in engineering, technology, innovation management or other construction / science related disciplines;
  • a professional qualification or membership in a recognized engineering or technology-related association would be an advantage;
  • a minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification relevant working experience;
  • in-depth knowledge and a keen interest in the adoption of innovation and technology in the construction industry, with a global perspective on industry advancements and applications;
  • skills in AI and data analytics for strategic planning and decision-making would be an advantage; and
  • excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese;

Duties include

  • to identify and assess emerging technologies with high potential for industry transformation, and collaborate with industry stakeholders to explore and implement innovative solutions;
  • to manage the renewal and enhancement of exhibits at the Construction Innovation and Technology Application Centre (CITAC), ensuring they stay up-to-date, relevant, and aligned with the latest industry advancements;
  • to organise major events, such as robotic competition & exhibition and industry webinars;
  • to manage CITAC operations, engage with stakeholders, and conduct guided tours;
  • to coordinate international technical visits and act as secretariat for CITAC Management Board;
  • to cultivate a strong team structure and foster collaboration, empowering seamless operations and ensuring successful succession planning; and
  • to carry out any other duties assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.

As the program manager, Store Cost & Construction, you are a strategic business partner, advocate, and innovator. You collaborate across regional and global teams to share your expertise and ensure cost-effective construction standards and practices that unlock strategic growth plans while also delivering the Starbucks Coffeehouse experience to our customers. You help bring creative designs to life through thoughtful construction decisions that enable Starbucks business partners to open profitable stores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide teams across multiple international countries on best practices across end-to-end construction from design to store opening focusing on balancing quality, cost and sustainability
  • Collaborate with experts, stakeholders, and various teams to expand programs, create scalable processes, and ensure ideas are practical and adaptable. Identify and address gaps in processes and communication
  • Regular and frequent reporting on progress and learnings that is grounded in strong communication and ability to recommend the best solution; bringing stakeholders along on your recommendation from a market project managers to a senior executives
  • Optimize construction efficiencies, value and cost engineering, timeline, schedule, project management, and renovation strategies
  • Drive innovation in construction methodology, trends, and technology including sustainable construction strategies
  • Manage cross-functional teams and programs simultaneously

Qualifications

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • Seven+ years in construction and project management; general contractor experience is a plus
  • Five+ years in core project management disciplines (scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, critical path)
  • Three+ years managing large, complex projects (quantity surveying, cost engineering, material selection) from design to handover
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies in quantity surveying and cost engineering
  • Data-driven communicator with advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience driving end-to-end projects with critical thinking and composure
  • Deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies
  • Experience with sustainable design and construction or green building frameworks

About the Client:

My client is currently looking for an experienced Senior Manager - Construction Management (Residential Project) to oversee their residential projects.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage procurement of design and construction projects, resolving design-related issues with vendors, operations, and consultants.
  • Coordinate with consultants and contractors on-site, ensuring timely project completion and quality standards.
  • Implement site team management policies to ensure effective operations and accurate site information.
  • Lead engineering teams to ensure projects meet safety standards, regulations, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor contractor performance to meet quality standards through HKHS' Integrated Quality System.
  • Develop and implement project management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Review and update standard requirements to meet legal and market standards, ensuring safety, value, and making recommendations for improvements.
Candidate Profile:
  • Degree in Building, Civil, Structural, or related disciplines; professional qualifications like MHKIA, MHKIE, MHKIS preferred.
  • 10+ years of project management experience, especially in residential new builds and corporate projects.
  • Experience handling contracts and collaborating with contractors and consultants on existing building projects.
  • Solid understanding of commercial considerations in the local construction market.
  • Experience in a matrix organization and providing secretariat support is advantageous.
  • Proficient in English communication and writing skills.
