Who are we looking for?
To assess and approve unsecured lending products within delegated authority

Responsibilities
  • To perform manual credit underwriting in Unsecured Lending products acquisition and limit increase approval within delegated authority and ensure the credit approvals are complying with Credit Policy and standards, and HKMA guidelines
  • Oversee underwriting in quality standard, and accomplishing daily applications within the specified time frame
  • Facilitate and support the launch of new product/ projects. Assist Head of Credit Risk to identify, coordinate, drive and implement the changes
  • Support credit assessment infrastructure capability enhancement to optimize process efficiency
  • Support UAT and implementation for the underwriting process change
  • Identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support daily operations and oversee efficiency
Risk Management
  • Identify and share insights of best practice to work with the Credit Risk team for their feasibility evaluation and implementation
  • Monitor through the door application quality and provide timely inputs to stakeholders for optimizing risk and reward relationship
  • Ensure all Credit Initiation policies and procedures comply with Credit Policies and Standards. Ensure proper and updated documentation in place
Governance

To support Senior Manager, Credit Initiation Operation in,

  • Embed the Mox’s values and code of conduct in Credit Initiation to ensure that adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations among employees forms part of the culture.
  • Accountable for satisfactory closure of issues / gaps arising from Internal and external Audits, peer reviews and regulatory reviews.
Requirements
  • With at least 4 years of experience in Credit Initiation Operation; solid experience in Unsecured Personal Loans and Debt Consolidation Loans are preferable
  • Bachelor degree, or / another equivalent professional qualification
  • Good proficiency in reading and speaking Chinese and English

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate financial, accounting, and fundamental data to extract actionable insights using suitable analytical methods;

Qualifications

We’re looking for people with functional knowledge and diversified background in the following areas:

  • Bachelor / master’s degree holder in Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, statistics, or Business Administration with quantitative aptitude is preferred;
  • With 1-3 years experiences in the fields of financial modelling and valuation, including financial instrument valuation, real estate investment and appraisal, fixed assets valuation, market risk analysis or programming on VBA or Python;
  • Holding or currently studying professional qualifications such as CFA, or FRM is preferred;
  • Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities;
  • Ability to develop financial models that meet market standards from scratch and present analysis in a clear and logical manner to clients;
  • Strong sense of ownership and commitment to deliver high quality of work;
  • Self-driven initiatives and willingness to accept challenges with positive energy;
  • Effective communication skills in both spoken and written English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin);
  • Strong Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint knowledge and good report-writing skills

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree holder major in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, experience in international audit firm and multinational corporation is an advantage

  • Proven experience in financial reporting, management reporting and consolidation
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Your key responsibilities:

  • Providing timely advice to Equities business including the senior management in Hong Kong and the relevant support functions in complying Equities regulatory requirements and ensure the minimum controls to be put in place;
  • Disseminating changes in regulations and internal compliance policies and controls to the Equities business and provide compliance guidance on the regulatory changes for implementation;
  • Assisting Equities business to update the relevant business policies and procedures and providing creditable challenges to the control framework;
  • Providing compliance guidance to Equities business in drafting and maintaining local policies and procedures;
  • Handling ad hoc real time trade related and other queries on HK Equities specific regulatory requirements and any Japan exchange requirements;
  • Reviewing and following up with Equities Business in relation to the alerts raised by surveillance team to ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements;
  • Represent Compliance to participate into Equities related forums / governance meetings to provide regulatory updates, advice and any escalation to the senior management;
  • Providing induction training and other regular compliance training to the Equities business, relevant support functions and other compliance teams;
  • Preparing / reviewing internal reporting to management and regulatory reporting to regulators;
  • Work closely with the business, operations, legal and other relevant support functions on new business initiatives, e.g. business expansion including, but not limited to, tapping other APAC jurisdictions and/or exploring settlement capabilities, and any other transaction approvals;
  • Liaising with regulators, stock exchanges, e.g. HKEX and JPX, relevant industry bodies and industry groups and replying to regulatory enquiries as well as coordinate the regulatory inspections; and
  • Candidate with CF/ECM background is preferred to better support the Equities Distribution franchise. This may include having CF/ECM working knowledge on regulations and product, along with taking a regional co-ordination for other impacted jurisdictions as the Business expands.


Your skills and experience:

  • University degree or other closely related professional qualification
  • Ideally minimum of 5 years of experience in Equity Compliance Advisory role with a major investment bank
  • Experience and knowledge of the financial / banking rules and regulations in Hong Kong
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to think analytically, problem solve and undertake research
  • Strong time management skills and attention to details
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a high-pressure, deadline driven environment

Within, Operations, Premises & Country COOs (OPC) based in Hong Kong, Capital Market Operations (CMO) teams are responsible to process the transaction activities for Credit, Rates, FX/MM, Securities and Equities for multiple geographies (APAC and EMEA). There are 2 teams under CMO HK in charge of:

Capital Market Middle Office (CMM):

  • Transaction validation & controls
  • Trade Capture, Amendments and Events management
  • Deal allocations
  • FOBO/FOFO Reconciliation and resolution of breaks
  • Liaising with Trading and Sales teams and BO query management
  • Collateral Management - Liaising with external clients for Margin calls and MTM reports and solve any query
  • Coordination of the New Activity and Product (NAP) files for CMO launched by the Business Lines

Capital Market Back Office (CMB):

  • Ensuring in liaison with Business Lines and Middle Office teams a smooth transaction integration within the Back Office systems
  • Liaising with external clients for Confirmation and Settlements and solve any query
  • Ensuring cut offs are met for payments
  • Meeting our regulatory requirement sin terms of timely confirmation
  • Client static data and Settlement Instruction creation
  • Funding projection in liaison with multiple Treasury desks
  • Regulatory reporting for several regulators
  • Coordination of the New Activity and Product (NAP) files for CMO launched by the Business Lines
  • KPI’s production and operational risk mitigation implementation

Capital Market Middle Office team in HK is around 40 staffs and 6 sub-teams:

  • MO Sales and Client Services: In charge of deals originated by Sales including Trade validation, allocations, MTM reporting and collateral management
  • MO IRD/ EIS: In charge of Interest Rate and Equity Derivatives.
  • MO FX/MM/ Credit: In charge of Foreign Exchange, Money Market and Credits
  • MO Post Trade: In charge of the processing activities from FO systems to BO systems
  • MO Reconciliation: In charge of the various reconciliation (FO-BO; FO-FO,…)
  • MDA: In charge of Market Data activities

This role is within the Capital Markets Rates Middle Office Support teams covering Linear and Structured Rates derivatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to Front Office business lines under Global Markets Division during Asian trading hours
  • Ensure transactional integrity across trading applications, including 1st level trade checking
  • Perform trade modification, cancellation, and/ or trade event processing (ie: early termination, partial termination, unwind) upon trading approval and report profit and loss impact, if any
  • Monitoring, calculation and validation of events affecting the life of a structured product (coupons, Securities transactions, early partial closing, early exercise, maturity, nominal changes, etc.)

  • Provide an efficient post-trade support by ensuring trade information flows efficiently through deal processing from front office to back office system and front-office to front office system
  • Investigate and follow-up of breaks sent by back office, front office and other internal departments
  • Support local business development and volume increase
  • Ad hoc participation and support for projects for continuous improvement and optimization of management processes (specifications, user tests, process drafting) in conjunction with project teams, IT teams and management

Candidate Criteria

  • University Degree holder from discipline in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering
  • Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in Rates Derivatives Middle Office environment is necessary
  • Good knowledge of financial products and understanding of the operational risks involved in Rates derivatives including the structured products
  • Good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skill
  • Comfortable with multi-tasking and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to details and a self-starter who is highly motivated
  • Good judgement, alertness and common sense
  • Fluency in English. Proficient in French or other Asian languages a definite advantage
  • Versatile with PC tools and applications, e.g. MS Office, VBA

  • Practical experience and knowledge of Private Banking products and services, demonstrating a deep understanding of client needs within this specialized area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under pressure.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM and wealth management platforms.
