As a QA Specialist at 9GAG, you will work as a product team member to build and develop best-in-class web and app products. We are looking for an experienced QA Specialist, equipped with sound knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes to safeguard the quality of our products. This position is full time and remotely based on Hong Kong time-zone.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop test cases and scenarios for features and regression tests.
  • Ensure and execute test cases throughout regular release cycles.
  • Report defects and work closely with the development team to follow up on bug fixes.
  • Identify and support 9GAG / Memeland users, feedback and issue reports.
  • Testing support on ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Information System or equivalent majors.
  • Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work in a remote-first organization.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Product QA.
  • Proven work experience in software quality assurance, strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes.
  • Knowledge in automated testing, performance testing, and quality system construction would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the digital media industry would be advantageous.
  • Good logical thinking and team communication skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English required.

Senior quantitative researcher as part of a small, collaborative team with a focus on equity and futures statistical arbitrage based in Asia

Location

Hong Kong, Singapore

Principal Responsibilities

  • Working alongside the PM on developing systematic trading strategies, with a primary focus on: idea generation, data gathering and research/analysis, model implementation and backtesting for systematic equity strategies with a focus on Asian market statistical arbitrage / systematic strategies
  • Combine sound financial insights and statistical learning techniques to explore, analyze, and harness a large variety of datasets in order to build strong predictive models which will be deployed to the investment process
  • Collaborate with the PM in a transparent environment, engaging with the whole investment process

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Strong research and programming skills
  • Working knowledge of Matlab/Python and SQL are necessary
  • Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative subject such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field

Preferred Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a quantitative researcher in a high, mid or low frequency systematic trading environment with a focus on equities and/or futures
  • Experience trading in Chinese equity markets stat arb and/or equity index futures across Asian markets
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research using large data sets
  • Candidates with quantitative development experience will be considered as well, provided they also have relevant research experience

Highly Valued Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in a systematic trading environment (prop desk or hedge fund)
  • Product experience in statistical arbitrage strategies

About Us

The UNSW Discipline of General Practice leads the delivery of educational and research activities aimed at improving the care of people in primary and community healthcare settings.

The discipline contributes to the education of the next generation of doctors through the UNSW Doctor of Medicine program, conducts primary and integrated care research, contributes to postgraduate teaching, supervises ILP/Honours and Higher Degree by Research students and works with professional organisations to build capacity in primary care research, education and continuous professional development.

Details of the role

We are looking for a Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow to manage the ‘MyMedicare for older adults living in residential aged care homes: mixed-methods evaluation’ project and supervise research officers in conjunction with the investigators. This includes leading the project operations team, which includes the investigators, research officers based at UNSW and collaborating institutions. This also includes managing the ethics and governance applications and processes, and liaising with the key stakeholders, applying for access to datasets, participant recruitment and involvement in other data collection and analysis activities.

A Research Fellow (Level B) is expected to carry out independent and/or team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to their particular field of research.

A Senior Research Fellow (Level C) is expected to make independent or original contributions to the research effort within their field of research expertise and to the organisational unit or inter-disciplinary area of which they are part. An academic at this level is expected to play a major role in research including the exercise of some leadership in research.

The role of Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow reports to the Associate Professor and has no direct reports.

Skills And Experience

Skills and experience required for this position at Level B and level C include:

  • A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
  • Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
  • Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
  • A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.
  • High level communication skills and ability to network effectively and interact with a diverse range of students and staff.

Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant Professor in the Centre for Virology, Vaccinology and Therapeutics Limited (Ref.: CVVT/2025/RAP/D15), to commence as soon as possible. This is a two-year fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  1. A Ph.D. in virology, cell biology, or a related discipline.
  2. At least 7 years of research experience in virology, virus-host interactions, or human infectious diseases.
  3. A strong publication record demonstrating high-quality research.

The appointee will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, manage ongoing research projects focused on mucosal vaccine development, and publish in high-impact journals. Skills in mechanistic studies of mucosal vaccines, GMP/GLP toxicology in animal models, and proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are required.

My client, a leading global hedge fund with a strong track record in systematic investing, is looking to hire a Quantitative Researcher to join their Hong Kong-based team. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge systematic equities strategies within a collaborative and research-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will bring a solid technical foundation and prior experience in the quantitative finance space, whether from another hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or a front-office role in investment banking. A strong background in statistical arbitrage is essential, and exposure to machine learning techniques is a strong bonus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and development of alpha-generating systematic equities strategies, with a focus on statistical arbitrage .
  • Analyze large, complex datasets to uncover new trading signals and improve existing models.
  • Apply machine learning methods to improve predictive power and ensure robustness of strategies.
  • Perform rigorous backtesting and optimization using a Python-based infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, data scientists, and technologists to deploy strategies into production.

Candidate Profile

  • Prior experience (3+ years ) in a quantitative research or trading role at a hedge fund , prop trading firm , or investment bank (front office).
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or Statistics.
  • Deep understanding of systematic equity investing and statistical arbitrage frameworks.
  • Proficient in Python for research and prototyping - experience with ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost) is a strong plus.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills, with a keen eye for detail and performance optimization.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a dynamic, fast-paced team.
