This is a hybrid role blending retail operations, brand marketing, and distributor-brand liaison work.

Markato is one of the fastest growing beauty and wellness distributors in the region connecting retailers with the world’s most exciting emerging brands. We specialize in Korean Beauty & Wellness, exclusively distributing multiple top-ranked K-beauty brands in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, with immediate plans to launch in 4 more markets in Asia in the next 12 months. Backed by Lightspeed, we’re on a mission to become the go-to partner for the top health and wellness brands to launch and scale in Asia.

We are looking for a Key Account Manager / Brand Manager to lead the growth of our key accounts by building strong partnerships, unlocking new business opportunities, and driving impactful trade strategies. This role is at the forefront of boosting brand presence, maximizing sales performance and shaping a winning go-to-market execution across channels. The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of brand building and growth, and gritty retail execution. This is a very hands on role where you will own everything from brand listing to ensuring marketing activities and campaigns get executed and deliver top line growth. The cateogories that we cover and are expanding into include: beauty, colour cosmetics, hair, health and personal care.

What You Will Do
  • Take ownership of driving business outcomes and building long-term partnerships with key accounts and major retailers (e.g. Watsons, Mannings/Guardian, Sephora).
  • Manage full-cycle product distribution, including launches, listings, compliance documentation, pricing, promotions, and SKU updates.
  • Oversee sales performance, budgets, and profitability across assigned channels, producing regular forecasts and action plans to achieve targets.
  • Plan and execute trade marketing and promotional campaigns (in-store displays, planograms, digital activations) with agencies and retailers, ensuring brand consistency and measurable sales impact.
  • Ensure effective merchandising and in-store execution to maximize brand presence, product visibility, and sales opportunities.
  • Monitor market trends, sales data, and competitor activity to recommend pricing, assortment, and promotional strategies.
  • Lead negotiations and renewals of sales agreements, securing favorable terms that balance brand exposure and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with logistics to maintain optimal stock levels, trigger replenishment orders, resolve fulfillment delays, and prevent shortages or overstocks.
  • Process purchase orders, validate invoices, manage promotions and price changes via retailer portals, and collaborate with finance on payment cycles.
  • Conduct regular store visits to assess execution, identify growth opportunities, and ensure adherence to brand SOPs and promotional setups.
  • Optimize operational processes to reduce lead times, increase efficiency, and enhance retailer and account performance.
Who You Are
  • At least 2-4+ years in brand management, retail operations, or beauty distribution (or related fields)
  • A hybrid thinker-executor: You’re comfortable brainstorming a campaign one hour and sorting PO/invoice details the next
  • Experience in any of the following categories: beauty, personal care, health care / supplements, and colour cosmetics
  • Detail-obsessed & process-driven: You don’t let small errors slip (e.g., wrong barcodes, promo deadlines)
  • Experience working with the largest chain beauty and wellness retailers is a plus, but not required
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English + Chinese (Cantonese)
  • Have a bias toward action, have the mentality that no task is too big or small if it drives impact, and will not mind some elements of work being repetitive in nature
