Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice in Neurology in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: ), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong, and a higher professional qualification of Specialty Fellowship of the relevant Hong Kong College under the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine or equivalent. They should have a solid track record of clinical services in Neurology and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, and be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of courses for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. They should also have extensive experience in managing patients with acute and chronic medical disorders in particular neurological diseases; demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in clinical services and training; and proven capacity and potential in performing research in their respective field. Although teaching, research and professional activities are conducted in English, direct communication with patients is required and the languages employed are English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
The appointee is expected to deliver regular clinical services and patient care at the University’s teaching hospitals; participate in the planning and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; conduct research in Neurology; and contribute to administrative duties in the Department, Hospitals and Faculty. Information about the Department can be obtained at highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. A monthly cash allowance will be offered to the successful candidate. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.

- Fluency in English required; additional language skills are a plus.
