Job Position Summary:

The shipping industry is navigating a sea of digital disruption, and ensuring the integrity and reliability of our systems is essential to staying on course. As a key member of our IT programme, your role will focus on embedding robust quality practices across our solutions, including the redevelopment of our custom in-house PARIS platform.

You will be tasked with steering quality initiatives that safeguard performance, security, and scalability, working closely with senior stakeholders and development teams to deliver solutions that power the operations of over 600 ships and 25,000 seafarers globally. This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact, helping us chart the course for the next generation of digital maritime solutions.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, your typical day will include:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and execution of comprehensive QA strategies for both front-end and back-end systems, ensuring adherence to architectural principles and industry best practices
  • Define and enforce quality standards across functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, stability, and security
  • Champion automation by identifying innovative solutions and leveraging modern tools (including the use of AI) to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency
  • Oversee test planning, execution, and defect management to ensure timely delivery of high-quality solutions aligned with project milestones
  • Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Development teams to ensure QA considerations are embedded throughout the project lifecycle
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, clearly communicating quality metrics, risks, and recommendations in a concise and actionable manner
  • Partner with maritime subject matter experts to ensure solutions meet operational realities and deliver tangible value to the fleet

  • Lead and mentor QA engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
  • Share best practices, tools, and methodologies to elevate the overall quality capability within the IT team
  • Promote collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and user-centric solutions

Job Experience, Functional Knowledge and Qualifications:

ESSENTIAL – You MUST have all these skills and experiences

  • Proven QA mindset with an obsession for quality and best practices, demonstrated through:
  • Manual Testing for functional and non-functional requirements across multiple form factors (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Automation Testing using frameworks such as Playwright, Robot Framework, or Selenium WebDriver
  • Hands-on experience in performance testing using tools like Apache JMeter
  • Ability to write and execute complex SQL queries on databases such as Postgres, Oracle, and MariaDB
  • Skilled in planning and implementing Application Performance Monitoring & Debugging tools such as ElasticSearch, Prometheus, New Relic, and/or Firebase
  • Effective and confident communication skills in English, including with stakeholders outside of IT

DESIRABLE – It’s great if you have these too

  • Thorough and detailed hands-on experience of QA concepts and tools such as Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Jenkins
  • Experience leading and mentoring QA engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence
  • Previous experience working successfully in an Agile environment (Scrum, XP, Lean, or Kanban)
  • Analysis & Problem Solving: Uses a systematic approach to root cause analysis on complex problems to identify underlying trends and put forward well-thought-out solutions to address the causes and reduce risk.

Overview

  • Support and enable the creative development process, working closely with Operations Development (OD) and Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) as business partner and operational expertise, keeping WDI accountable for delivering the operational scope and achieving the project’s strategic intent.

  • Recognize and develop high-performing cast members; be responsible for team building, build succession plan as the team grows; and embrace and maintain Disney culture within the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master’s in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent.
  • 10 years of applied Industrial Engineering related experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in consulting and influencing senior executives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in modeling tools, statistical software, and simulation techniques

Who you are

We are looking for a Hardware Manufacturing Process Engineering Lead who has extensive experience leading teams in bringing up the manufacturing of new products to a high level of manufacturing performance and quality and maintaining this level of performance throughout a product's life. This is someone who has significant experience working on-site at electronic manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate enjoys critical thinking and problem solving, can successfully partner with a wide variety of stakeholders and inspire confidence, and is willing to dive deep.

This role will be based in Hong Kong or Shenzhen depending on where we can find suitable talents. A significant amount of this person's time will be spent on-site at partner contract manufacturing facilities.

In this role you will lead your in the following areas:
  • Overall production process development, validation, optimization and documentation at both final assembly and component manufacturing vendors.
  • In-depth trial and process development in areas of key importance to a product performance; examples include ultrasonic welding and laser etching.
  • Technical management of key supplier processes, particularly injection molding through team tooling engineer expertise.
  • Providing design for manufacturing input to engineering teams during concept and development.
  • Development and proposal of new processes and process improvements to reduce cost and improve quality.
  • Performing failure analysis as it relates to manufacturing process impact on factory quality and field reliability issues.
Minimum requirements
  • 10+ years experience leading teams in the new product ramp and sustained production of products in high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience working with and possessing knowledge of final assembly and test, pack-out, and SMT production processes.
  • Direct experience leading an engineering team in a manufacturing or development environment.
  • Interpersonal skills and experience needed to work with CM teams and management in a collaborative way to meet development schedules and mass-production deliveries.
  • Track record of implementing manufacturing improvements through DFM and DFx principles.
  • Ability to analyze and understand part tolerance and tolerance stackup and their impact on assembly and component production.
  • Experience leading and implementing manufacturing test bring up including fixtures and test software.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles and use.
  • Working knowledge and ability to interpret quality reports.
  • Fluency in Chinese and English
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience working in consumer electronics.
  • Experience building and leading growing teams.
  • Experience with POS hardware development and manufacturing including knowledge of tamper-proofing systems, and components for POS devices.
  • Familiarity with payments hardware related technologies e.g. ICC, MSR, tampering zebra strips etc.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Degree or above qualification in aircraft engineering or any related discipline
  • Minimum 8 years of related working experience including QA / S work experience, and have sufficient experience in related field such as SMS and Audit function is preferred
  • Holder of HKCAD HKAR 66 B1.1 / B.2 / B2* License with Airbus A320 with appropriate engine types is an advantage
  • Completed Auditor training course or equivalent
  • Possess technical knowledge and professional expertise in Quality Assurance, Continued Airworthiness Monitoring, Safety Management System and Risk Management
  • Possess good planning and execution ability to accomplish daily activities / assigned tasks independently

Manager, Quality Assurance, Financial Crime Investigations - Risk and Compliance

Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into an integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Lead a high performing team of Quality Assurance specialists to complete case reviews
  • Ensure independent and quality reviews conducted timely and accurately in accordance with the Global FC Investigations QA Instructions
  • Perform QA Manager Review to ensure quality of reviews and resolve appeals with investigation teams, where appropriate
  • Ensure QA process are in compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies and procedures
  • Issue management reports and conduct knowledge sharing with Investigation teams
  • Ensure QA findings including systematic issues and/or emerging risk trends identified are communicated with Investigation teams
  • Develop and maintain a collaborative working relationship with Investigation teams and key business stakeholders both internal and external. Cultivate an environment that promotes diversity, engage and motivate to achieve a high performing team
  • Maintain and observe all control standards of the bank and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including adherence (as directed) with recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators
Requirements
  • Proven management experience in investigations/assurance/audit or related discipline within financial services industry
  • Prior financial crime investigation experience highly desirable. Financial crime awareness relating to Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism
  • Good knowledge of AML/ CTF, Sanctions and other financial crime related regulations
  • Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal, communications in both verbal and written, training delivery, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills required. Strong management, coaching, influencing and motivational skills; ability to drive team performance in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of Financial products, services, operations, systems and working knowledge of laws and regulations in financial crime
  • Certification in a professional association such as the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) is an advantage

  • Strong teamwork, communication, documentation, and presentation skills; committed to continuous improvement.
  • Proactive, capable of planning tasks and small projects, and adhering to deadlines under tight schedules.
  • Excellent data analysis skills, goal-oriented, and task-driven.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of JMP, MiniTAB, Agile, ChatGPT is a plus.

About Our Client

Our client is the one of the largest American Investment/ Private banks, headquartered in New York City. They are now looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst/ Associate to join their Account Management project team under Private Wealth Management to handle quality assurance testing of the quality of business processes in onboarding, periodic review and trigger event review etc., to handle compliance testing, validate and summarize QA results and support thematic reviews. The private wealth management division provides highly personalized, best in class investment advice, execution services, wealth management and banking solutions to Ultra High Net Worth individuals and families across the region.

Job Description

  • Responsible for quality assurance testing/ compliance testing to assess the quality of the business processes in onboarding, periodic review and trigger event review etc., ensuring these processes comply with internal policies and procedures.
  • Validate and summarize quality assurance results in clear and concise language and prepare quality assurance reporting materials and management information.
  • Support ad-hoc thematic reviews.
  • Work closely with different business stakeholders e.g. operations, Risk and Technology functions etc. to implement remedial action plan to address quality assurance observations.
  • Support the quality assurance lead with ad hoc duties


The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance or business management related discipline
  • 2-4 years of working experience in quality assurance testing/ compliance testing/ compliance monitoring / audit / consulting within big 4 or private banking industry
  • Knowledge in SOW corroboration, Customer Identification Program (CIP) requirements, KYC documentation or private wealth management regulatory requirements is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and highly attentive to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly fluent in English and Chinese
