What You'll Be Doing

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager / Assistant Vice President of Engineering (Hotel Operations) to support our regional hotel operations. This role is responsible for ensuring all properties operate in compliance with Shangri-La Group’s engineering and safety standards. The ideal candidate will lead audits, implement technical improvements, support training initiatives, and provide strategic guidance on mechanical, electrical, and life safety systems across the portfolio.

Standards & Manual Development

  • Assist in the development, regular updating, and translation of key operational manuals including and not limited to:
    • Engineering Services Manual
    • Fire Life Safety Manual
    • Fire Life Safety Clearance Manual
    • Loss Prevention Manual
    • Crisis Management Manual
    • Best Practices Manual
    • Computerized Maintenance & Work Order Systems
    • Audit Documentation and Pre-opening Guidelines
Compliance & Implementation

  • Ensure hotel teams are implementing requirements outlined in the above manuals; identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor compliance with Shangri-La’s Loss Prevention, Fire & Life Safety, and Crisis Management standards.
  • Oversee implementation of SLIM Engineering initiatives across all properties.

Energy & Maintenance Management

  • Maintain and continuously improve group-wide Energy Management and Maintenance Management guidelines.
  • Audit energy and maintenance programs within hotels and provide guidance to address deficiencies.

Training & Succession Planning

  • Develop and execute structured training programs in coordination with SLIM-HR.
  • Support succession planning across all engineering levels (Levels 1, 2, & 3).

Project & Design Support

  • Support the development and update of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Design Standards, including briefing materials and design criteria.
  • Evaluate and approve M&E designs submitted by external consultants and contractors.
  • Review feasibility studies and engineering proposals for specific hotel projects.

Site Audits & Inspections

  • Conduct periodic site visits and inspections during design, construction, and post-opening phases.
  • Prepare progress reports, highlighting critical issues related to M&E systems.
  • Represent SLIM Engineering at project coordination meetings.

Pre-Opening & Commissioning

  • Support pre-opening activities for new properties and renovation projects:
    • Define engineering manning levels
    • Set HEOS (Hotel Engineering Operations Standards) requirements
    • Oversee Testing & Commissioning processes
    • Conduct Fire Life Safety inspections and coordinate defect rectifications
    • Ensure successful execution of soft and grand opening engineering tasks
Post-Opening Support

  • Conduct post-opening reviews to ensure adherence to operations and maintenance standards.
  • Identify and rectify project-related defects after handover.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in engineering roles, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) qualification required.
  • Strong experience in electrical systems is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO and quality management standards (e.g., ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, LEED, Green Building).
  • Proven ability to identify cost-saving opportunities, particularly in bulk procurement of engineering-related materials and equipment.
  • Effective communicator with strong organizational, project management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Experience working in a corporate hospitality setting is an advantage.

This person will be responsible for conducting QA reviews across all FWD operating Business Units. This role is critical in ensuring the effectiveness and consistency of FCC controls throughout the insurance business, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

The Job

  • Support the Compliance Quality Assurance team lead to monitor and review Anti Money Laundering (AML) control to ensure that the company’s operation complies with regulatory and internal requirements.

  • Support the team lead to develop the Compliance testing framework.

  • Implement, maintain, and enhance a robust QA program to assess the effectiveness of FCC processes across all departments, including but not limited to name screening, customer due diligence (CDD), premium collection, transaction monitoring and data quality in the AML system.

  • Support to create comprehensive testing methodologies.

  • Prepare QA reports with detailed findings and recommendations within agreed timelines. Follow up on management responses and remedial actions.

  • Any ad hoc assignments or tasks that may be delegated from time to time.

The Person

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Business Administration or Information Systems is preferable.

  • Minimum 3 years’ working experience in insurance industry.

  • Familiar with insurance related legislations and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and Bermuda.

  • Exposure in AML system implementation is an advantage.

  • Hands-on experience in conducting AML and review.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English & Cantonese.

  • Detailed person with strong analytical and research skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support large number of web-based applications in an enterprise environment.

Requirements

  • Over 8 to 10 years of Experience as a Microsoft IIS Administrator, diversified technical experience in middle tier technologies, Powershell, Unixshell, web infrastructure design, solution architecture, identity and access management, web operations and application integration within large enterprise environments
  • Experience working in Windows Server 2008/2016 environment
  • Very Good Experience in PRODUCTION Code Migration for .Net/Java/J2ee Applications and making sure the Availability of the Production Infrastructure Environments.
  • Excellent understanding of internet and networking protocols, including TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS
  • Strong internet infrastructure product knowledge in Windows
  • Experience in enterprise-level web-hosting environment
  • Ability to handle outage/incident situations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and high-pressure situations for outage handling, management or resolution
  • Proficient in ITIL concepts for Incident, Change and Configuration Management.

For more information, please visit more information about FWD Hong Kong, please visit are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to implement the QA framework within our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) program including but not limited to, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), and Anti-Fraud. This person will be responsible for conducting QA reviews across all FWD operating Business Units and driving different data analysis to understand the AML and sanctions risk in the company. This role is critical in ensuring the effectiveness and consistency of FCC controls throughout the insurance business, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

The Job

  • Drive different data analysis to study the AML and Sanctions risk of the company.

  • Conduct market research to understand the AML control in local market.

  • Support the Compliance Quality Assurance team lead to monitor and review Anti Money Laundering (AML) control to ensure that the company’s operation complies with regulatory and internal requirements.

  • Support the team lead to develop the Compliance testing framework.

  • Create comprehensive testing methodologies. Implement, maintain, and enhance a robust QA program to assess the effectiveness of FCC processes across all departments, including but not limited to name screening, customer due diligence (CDD), premium collection, transaction monitoring and data quality in the AML system.

  • Prepare QA reports with detailed findings and recommendations within agreed timelines. Follow up on management responses and remedial actions.

  • Any ad hoc assignments or tasks that may be delegated from time to time.

The Person

  • Degree holder in Computer Science, Business Administration or Information Systems is preferable.

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in insurance industry.

  • Minimum 2 years of data analytics experience. Hands-on experience in conducting AML related data analysis and review.

  • Familiar with insurance related legislations and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and Bermuda.

  • Exposure in AML system implementation is an advantage.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English & Cantonese.

  • Detailed person with strong analytical and research skills.

  • Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

  • Knowledge in programming such as Python, VBA or SQL is a strong plus.

  • Able to work under pressure and meet all deadlines.

  • Able to work independently and to make prompt decisions.
