Major Duties:

(a)

To assist the Engineering Discipline in planning, setting up, and operating the Electric Vehicle Maintenance Training Centre, including overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficient resource management and compliance with technical and safety standards in the industry;

(b)

To build and maintain robust networks with the government and industry stakeholders to enhance VPET initiatives;

(c)

To drive innovation in training programme development and explore new collaboration opportunities, focusing on new energy transport and cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) technologies, including EV maintenance and advanced automotive systems, to meet the evolving needs of the new energy transport sector;

(d)

To take a leading role in the quality assurance of the operational unit and training programmes in accordance with the Council's policies and government regulations;

(e)

To support the Engineering Discipline in developing comprehensive strategies to deliver distinctive hands-on experiences in new energy transport, particularly in EV maintenance, and address the evolving manpower demands of the industry;

(f)

To plan, design, and implement projects, activities, and events related to new energy transportation, and foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including academic departments, automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs), industry and professional bodies; and

(g)

To act as Programme Leader and serve in academic / management committees / work groups as required; and to conduct teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement.

Requirements:

(a)

A recognised degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Technology, or a related field, preferably with a post-graduate qualification in engineering, management or a relevant discipline;

(b)

At least 7 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role overseeing OEM communication, training programme development for aftersales and new energy transport technologies;

(c)

Good experience in establishing OEM-standard automotive service facilities, including infrastructure development, equipment preparation, and technical, legal, and safety compliance; preferably with a strong understanding of EV operation;

(d)

Solid experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating OEM training programmes and curricula is preferred, particularly in maintenance and automotive aftersales; with a focus on quality assurance and industry alignment;

(e)

Good understanding of the vision and mission of the Council and the future development of VPET;

(f)

Well-established networks with automotive OEMs, with a track record of collaborating on training, compliance, and service enhancement initiatives;

(g)

Good administrative, interpersonal, communication and team building skills; and

(h)

Good presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua.

Qualifications

• Form 3 or above
• A minimum of 5 years' driving experience (including private minibuses)
• A valid Hong Kong driving license for categories 1, 2, 4, 9 and 10 (manual transmission), as well as a cross-border driving license for Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Familiarity with roads in both regions is required
• Good driving record and service attitude; proficiency in Mandarin is preferred
