Job Description
As our Hong Kong office continues to grow, undertaking new projects with some of Asia’s most prestigious and well respected architecture firms and clients, we are seeking an assistant façade engineer to work with our Hong Kong team.
About The Role
The role includes:
- Design and engineering of facades for building projects in Hong Kong and across Asia.
- Preparation of calculation reports for local government submissions.
- Assisting in the review of shop drawings and contractor-provided calculations.
- Attending inspections during the construction, installation, and fabrication of concrete and steel structures.
- Participating in meetings alongside senior team members to provide engineering input to the design process.
- Daily communication with the engineering manager and team members to ensure project alignment.
Qualifications
Requirements (Compulsory)
- Higher Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 2 years of construction experience, with at least 1 year focused on façade works (highly preferred).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and familiarity with various engineering software.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in both English and Cantonese.
Requirements (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis Software (e.g., Strand7, SAP2000).
- Experience in Structural Engineering.
- TCP T3 qualification under the RSE stream.
- Experience in preparing submissions for the Buildings Department is preferred.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

**Project Brief Background Information**
Hong Kong Housing Society project located in Shau Kei Wan, Hong Kong, project includes superstructure, ELS, Site formation, building foundation, pile cap and drainage works and the tentative contract period of employment around 4 years.
**Job Duties**
+ Act as the RSE & RGE T5 & T3 and RSE's & RGE's Representative full time on site
+ Accountable and report to the AP/RSE/RGE and take-in-charge of the RE Site Office for implementing both the RSE's and RGE's supervision
+ Implement and monitor the HKHS's integrated quality assurance system, site safety and environmental systems on site
+ Take overall responsibility to check the site safety measures in compliance with the requirements of supervision plans
+ Carry out specific tasks as per the requirements and checklist devised from RSE/RGE and representative of Client
+ Supervise the junior TCPs comprising Assistant Resident Engineers to check the essential items for specified tasks, including but not limited to superstructure including precast construction, ELS, site formation, building foundation, pile cap and drainage works
+ Coordinate and compile reports on supervision activities including site progress reports and reports on non-conformities
+ Assist the RSE/RGE to appraise and monitor the structural stability of adjacent buildings, structures, slopes, streets and services before and after construction
+ Check the works in compliance with the approved plans and contractual requirements, method statements, precautionary and protective measures
+ Check and resolve any discrepancies between drawings, specifications, an actual site situations
+ Review Contractor's submissions
+ Monitor the work of the Registered Contractor's TCPs
+ Attend site meetings and project meetings, QA/QC meetings and other necessary meetings, and assist and coordinate with the design office for all site works/matters
+ Keep records of daily site inspection activities with details to the satisfaction of the RSE/RGE. Prepare and submit bi-weekly site reports, QA/QC reports, inspection reports, defect reports, site records and other reports as necessary
+ Enforce ethics and compliance policy including Third Party payment, Sub-consultancy engagement process and Gift and Entertainment policy.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor or Master degree in Civil/Structural/Geotechnical Engineering
+ MHKIE or equivalent and Registered Professional Engineer (Civil / Structural)
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with superstructure, building foundation, pile cap and drainage works, and ELS, site formation, Building Works with significant geotechnical content would be an advantage
+ Ability to coordinate with other parties in the construction site environment
+ Ability to lead the site office and supervise the site team
+ Experience and awareness in contractual issues in construction
+ Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
