RESIDENT SITE STAFF
We are looking for the following site staff for the Sub-structure Works Contract at New Science Building for Lingnan University
- Registered Professional Engineer (Civil or Structural). For holders of qualification in the field of Civil Engineering Discipline, appropriate experience in structural engineering design and practice is required.
- 5 years of post-qualification experience in the field of structural engineering.
- Met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2* or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) /Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent.

Our team offers multidisciplinary design, construction management, and project management services from inception to operation. We seek capable, independent individuals to join our energetic team.
Responsibilities- Assist the project team with all aspects of geotechnical engineering design
- Provide technical input for geotechnical design and consulting
- Coordinate with project team members, clients, government agencies, and stakeholders
- Assist in technical proposal preparation, tender documents, and assessments
- Conduct project research as required
- Degree in civil engineering; post-graduate degree is an advantage
- Membership of relevant professional institutions
- At least 3 years of post-graduation experience for Engineer; at least 1 year post-chartered for Project Engineer
- Proficiency in IT tools, including engineering software
- Interest in digital engineering; proficiency in Python scripting or Grasshopper visual programming is an advantage
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with high drive for achievement
- Fluent in English and Chinese (written and spoken)

Job Description
Project Brief
- The project site is located in Ma Tau Kok Road, Kowloon.
- The project includes superstructure, site formation, foundation and ELS works, and the works will be commenced at early May 2025 and expected to be substantially completed at the end of Oct 2027.
- Tentative Contract period of employment: 24 months
- Supervise and monitor the work quality and work progress on site.
- Check the site safety measures in compliance with the requirements of supervision plans.
- Carry out specific tasks as per requirements and checklist devised from RSE/RGE.
- Supervise the junior TCPs comprising Assistant Resident Engineers (T3) to check the essential items for specified tasks, including but not limited superstructure works, site formation works, foundation works, and ELS works construction.
- Coordinate and compile reports on supervision activities including reports on non-conformities, to deal with non-conformities, and to report to RE/RSE/RGE.
- Check the works in compliance with the approved plans, the approved temporary works, method statements, precautionary and protective measures.
- Review the Contractor’s submissions.
- Monitor the work of the Registered Contractor’s TCPs.
- Attend the site meetings and project meetings, and
- Assist and coordinate with the design office for all site works/matters.
- Factory (Mainland) inspection is required as according to Code of Practice for Site Supervision Plan 2009 & APP-143.
- A higher certificate or high diploma holder with minimum total relevant experience of 5 years, or degree holder with minimum total relevant experience of 2 years.
- Be adaptable and able to work independently.
- Ability to coordinate with other parties in the construction site environment.
- Experience and awareness in contractual issues in construction, and
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Cantonese.

Responsibilities- Manage engineering activities related to building, structure, civil elements, and facilities, including maintenance, modifications, construction, and renovation.
- Oversee project management, ensuring quality standards and adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate tender processes, including document preparation, briefings, interviews, and awarding contracts.
- Handle project payments, cost comparisons, and finalization of accounts.
- Maintain hardware and services according to standards, ensuring safety and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor equipment and facilities performance; prepare performance reports.
- Propose improvements for productivity and maintenance efficiency.
- Supervise subordinates, monitor contractors, and ensure work quality.
- Establish maintenance standards, materials, and working practices.
- Ensure compliance with government and professional regulations.
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget.
- Coordinate with internal departments, tenants, government bodies, and authorities during maintenance and renovation works.
- Manage stock levels of building materials.
- Develop and maintain risk management and audit procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying, Building Studies, Civil Engineering, or related fields.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in building maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Applicants with less experience may be considered for an Engineer position.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese.
