Design Engineer
to join our team in Hong Kong. Working with a highly skilled and energetic team you'll have opportunity to play a key role assisting us successfully deliver these and other future projects.

You will be able to apply your talents to a diverse range of private and public sector projects from all types of buildings to major social, utility, transport, and infrastructure projects. You may also have the chance to work on other large global projects supporting our other operations overseas in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, UK and North America

The successful applicant will have:

· Minimum 3 years' experience (local and/or international).

· Steel, reinforced concrete and foundation design experience.

· A creative problem solver with a proactive approach.

· Relevant academic qualifications.

· Ability to speak English and Cantonese. Mandarin is an advantage.

· Solid understanding of Hong Kong Codes of Practice and British Standards.

· Experience with Chinese Codes (GB) and other international standards is an advantage.

· Experience with digital design skills and understanding of programming languages is an advantage.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing integrated engineering support and project coordination to the project assigned, supervise day-to day construction works to ensure timely project completion with good quality and safety performance.

Responsibilities:

• To assist in checking structural design and details, test reports and construction records, and in witnessing and carrying out of tests on foundation and structural elements;
• To prepare for planning, feasibility, and detailed design for civil / structural / geotechnical engineering works;
• To carry out modelling, analysis, and design works;
• To attend design meetings, site meetings / inspections and all other meetings of relevant projects;
• To assist in preparing fee proposals, technical bids, and tender submissions;

Responsibilities:

Assist the project manager in managing the entire civil engineering project, from planning and coordination to construction.

Communicate closely with site staff to understand the progress of the project.

Ensure the project meets specifications and quality standards.

Develop budgets and schedules, as well as manage the supply of materials.

Supervise the project to ensure compliance with legal and safety regulations.

Collaborate closely with the project manager and team, providing technical support

as necessary.

Fieldwork is required (must be proactive and possess a spirit of teamwork).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

At least 5 years of relevant construction site and mud well experience.

Good Cantonese; basic Mandarin; good English.

Ability to read and write in Chinese and English.
