The Greater Bay Area International Clinical Trial Institute (GBAICTI) is a wholly-owned entity of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, positioning as a centralized clinical research facilitation platform with the mission and vision of creating and sustaining a thriving clinical research ecosystem and energizing the development of a healthy and wealthy society through biomedical innovation, research, translation and development in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The University of Hong Kong Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (HKUMed) is appointed as the operator of GBAICTI. We are seeking a high calibre talent to join the operation team as Manager (Research Strategy Development & Application).
Main Responsibilities:
- Report to the Vice President (Research Strategy Development & Application) and support the management and operation of the Office of Research Strategy Development & Application (OSDA);
- Support the formulation and implementation of strategies on the development and utilization of infrastructure and facilities relating to clinical research (e.g. biobanks, central laboratories and phase 1 centres) in collaboration with stakeholders such as the Hong-Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP), Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP), Hong Kong Genome Institute (HKGI) and the clinical trials centres;
- Support the evaluation of the application of novel research methods (e.g. the application of real-world data and real-world evidence) on clinical research/development and regulatory decision-making on healthcare policies and marketing approval of medical products;
- Support the formulation, establishment and management of funding schemes for energizing clinical research projects and infrastructure development;
- Provide consultation on clinical research and development to investigators, research institutions and the biomedical industry;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, life sciences or related subjects;
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the clinical research profession;
- Good knowledge and experience in clinical research operations and processes, regulatory requirements and industrial standards;
- Experience in managing/coordinating clinical trials, preferably also in handling marketing registration applications, real-world data research, research infrastructure development and research grants management;
- Proficiency in common office applications (e.g. MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Hands-on experience in project management and database applications (e.g. MS Project, Access and Visio) is an added advantage;
- Commitment to quality, integrity, confidentiality and compliance;
- Good organizational, project management and problem-solving skills;
- Good interpersonal and communication skills;
- Detail-minded, able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and self-motivated;
- A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese; Proficiency in Putonghua is an added advantage.

The UNSW Discipline of General Practice leads the delivery of educational and research activities aimed at improving the care of people in primary and community healthcare settings.
The discipline contributes to the education of the next generation of doctors through the UNSW Doctor of Medicine program, conducts primary and integrated care research, contributes to postgraduate teaching, supervises ILP/Honours and Higher Degree by Research students and works with professional organisations to build capacity in primary care research, education and continuous professional development.
Details of the role
We are looking for a Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow to manage the ‘MyMedicare for older adults living in residential aged care homes: mixed-methods evaluation’ project and supervise research officers in conjunction with the investigators. This includes leading the project operations team, which includes the investigators, research officers based at UNSW and collaborating institutions. This also includes managing the ethics and governance applications and processes, and liaising with the key stakeholders, applying for access to datasets, participant recruitment and involvement in other data collection and analysis activities.
A Research Fellow (Level B) is expected to carry out independent and/or team research within the field in which they are appointed and to carry out activities to develop their research expertise relevant to their particular field of research.
A Senior Research Fellow (Level C) is expected to make independent or original contributions to the research effort within their field of research expertise and to the organisational unit or inter-disciplinary area of which they are part. An academic at this level is expected to play a major role in research including the exercise of some leadership in research.
The role of Research Fellow / Senior Research Fellow reports to the Associate Professor and has no direct reports.
Skills And Experience
Skills and experience required for this position at Level B and level C include:
- A PhD in a related discipline, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record in research with outcomes of high quality and high impact with clear evidence of the desire and ability to continually achieve research excellence as well as the capacity for research leadership.
- A track record of significant involvement with the profession and/or industry.

APAC Research Lead
Hong Kong
We have partnered with a global real estate investment manager and looking to appoint a senior-level professional to lead their APAC research function, based in Hong Kong. This role will focus on analyzing macroeconomic indicators, financial markets, and real estate trends to inform investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and interpret data on real estate, financial, and economic developments across key Asia Pacific markets.
- Contribute market commentary for annual strategic plans related to assets managed in the region.
- Produce research papers and thought leadership materials addressing market developments and their implications for investment.
- Develop visual content and presentations that effectively communicate market dynamics to clients and stakeholders.
- Translate broad market movements into actionable insights that support investment performance and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with the acquisitions team to evaluate potential investments, including market assessments, competitive analysis, and risk identification.
- Engage with senior leadership and clients through meetings and calls to present findings and recommendations.
- Undergraduate degree in economics, statistics, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or CFA designation are advantageous.
- 7–10 years of experience in real estate research, consulting, finance, or economics. Candidates with strong analytical and writing skills from other sectors will also be considered.
- Background in commercial real estate is preferred.
- Familiarity with multiple Asia Pacific markets is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Skilled in database management and analysis.
- Demonstrates intellectual rigor, curiosity, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Applications are invited for the position of Research Assistant Professor in the Centre for Virology, Vaccinology and Therapeutics Limited (Ref.: CVVT/2025/RAP/D15), to commence as soon as possible. This is a two-year fixed-term appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Ph.D. in virology, cell biology, or a related discipline.
- At least 7 years of research experience in virology, virus-host interactions, or human infectious diseases.
- A strong publication record demonstrating high-quality research.
The appointee will be expected to work independently and collaboratively, manage ongoing research projects focused on mucosal vaccine development, and publish in high-impact journals. Skills in mechanistic studies of mucosal vaccines, GMP/GLP toxicology in animal models, and proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin are required.
