We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team, Securities Financing Technology, as Synthetic Trading Engineer
Securities Financing Technology is a diverse global team that works together to build innovative sales and trading systems for the Prime Brokerage and Financing businesses. We care about working hand-in-hand with our business partners towards realising the architectural principles of simplicity, efficiency and transparency. The successful candidate will be working on an exciting project to deliver the ‘next generation’ of HSBC DeltaOne and Synthetic trading platform.
Job title :Synthetic Trading Engineer
Duration of the role: 1 year renewable contract
Max salary to the candidate: 110K
Any specific skillset: Java, low latency trading, Inventory / Synthetic Trading knowledge
Principal responsibilities
- Build a scalable and highly available DeltaOne and Synthetic trading platform across Asia Pacific.
- Contribute to the design and architecture of this platform.
- Work closely with the front-office trading and product teams to ensure fast and accurate delivery of new functionality and improvements.
- Liaise with local compliance, NFR and other risk/control teams to ensure full compliance with the letter and spirit of all relevant regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Maintain continuous communication with the wider global team: collaborative development, reviews and strategic decision making.
- Contribute and influence on the future state architecture.
Requirements
- Prior experience of working in an investment banking setting.
- Expert-level applied Java experience including the JVM, garbage collection, data structures and non-blocking IO.
- Passionate advocate for technology, technological solutions and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of DeltaOne and Synthetic trading including the order lifecycle, locate, inventory management, FIX messaging and Asian markets is a plus.
- Good understanding of the design and architecture of robust, scalable and highly available distributed trading platforms is a plus.
- Good understanding of risk, risk management and the role technology plays in this highly regulated environment is a plus.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and an excellent communicator.
- Appreciation of agile software delivery practices and knowledge of DevOps.

In this role you will:
- Lead the Inforce Solutions team to design and implement strategies that enhance the financial performance, risk profile, capital efficiency, and customer experience of the inforce portfolio.

- Streamline processes to boost operational efficiency and deliver a seamless, customer-focused experience.
To be successful you will need:
- Solid experience in life and health insurance and/or reinsurance, with expertise in reinsurance and product development highly desirable.
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and drive performance across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated track record of self-motivation, high energy, and leadership through example, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Medical Product Pricing & Analysis:
- Conduct pricing analysis for medical insurance products, ensuring competitiveness and profitability
- Develop and refine pricing models and methodologies based on actuarial principles and market trends
- Support to refine assumptions for medical claims, utilization trends, and product performance
- Provide analytical support for various ad hoc projects
- Prepare internal reporting, dashboards and performance insights
- Assist in reserving calculations and financial modelling for insurance liabilities, including IBNR reserves
- Help in preparing regulatory reports and ensuring compliance with applicable financial reporting requirements
To be successful you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related equivalent
- Previous experience in insurance product pricing, actuarial support, or risk analysis
- Exposure to medical insurance pricing and healthcare cost analysis is preferred
- Basic understanding of general insurance reserving, financial modelling, and regulatory reporting is a plus
- Strong proficiency in Excel, actuarial software, and data analytics tools
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines

- Lead a team to develop insurance product materials for supporting product launch & enhancement and ad-hoc request of changes

To be successful you will need
- Solid insurance marketing experience, preferably with exposures in product marketing and customer research design

- Well-developed communication, interpersonal and project management skills, with excellent relationship skillset in dealing with stakeholders and vendor

- Strong communication and writing skills in both Chinese and English is a must

Principal Responsibilities
Job Profile:
The principal responsibility of the Business Analysis job category is to manage the analysis of processes in HSBC and to oversee and manage all or some of the associated activities during change implementation. The role holder location is Hong Kong and they may be located in projects as well as in established BAU teams. It is possible that the Senior Business Analyst may work on multiple projects simultaneously.
In this role you will
- Capturing, analysing and documenting of business process (including IT processes)
- Designing of solutions or change interventions. Managing change activities which can include diverse tasks such as timeline planning to stakeholder engagement. Devising change interventions such as training and communication
- Managing the tracking and documenting progress and managing status reporting. Stakeholder Management and reporting on progress, risks, issues and dependencies
- Managing support staff when required, ensuring resources are utilised effectively and resource supply meets demand
- Requirements gathering, Standard Operating procedures and Training of Production staff
- Role will support production and continue to drive knowledge and user experience on Platforms. Drive JIRAs for Production IT support to the correct IT/CIO team for resolution
- Ongoing documenting and maintaining Standard Operating procedures for Operations and continuing knowledge share across the business teams
- Provide support to Product Owners and assisting to facilitate discussions with key stakeholders. Assist on initiatives to provide input and coordinate across multiple teams on backlog items based on knowledge and support
To be successful you will need
- To manage related change projects and initiatives globally for Transfer Agency Product Delivery
- Involve the forward planning for changes and enhancements through to implementation as prioritized for Transfer Agency. This includes client reporting, regulatory system changes plus the interfacing and linkages with strategic Market and Security Services Transfer Agency platforms – GTAP.Net and GTAP J2EE
- Incumbent will work with a geographically dispersed team of resources and undertake planning, enhancement and testing phases of assigned projects and activities relating to client onboarding, meeting existing clients’ new requirements and regulatory Change promoted system enhancements/configuration and migrations
- Work closely with IT, MSS, Operations and Product teams to create and deliver realistic schedule of TA changes and improvements
- Project work streams will be created and managed by the incumbent to deliver Single Book of Change and Strategic driven initiatives in these areas leveraging extended Product Delivery and IT teams globally, as well as Vendors
- To manage periodic reporting and client interface requirements
- To operate effectively both as team leader and as an individual contributor
- Solid understanding of Transfer Agency

Role Purpose
The Client Change Manager will be accountable for the management and delivery of ‘change requests’ for his/her assigned Securities Services clients that sit within the Client Change Management team. They will be responsible for the change requests for the strategic clients assigned to this role.
In this role, you will:
- Facilitate the client change process from identification, requirements gathering, impact assessment, prioritization support, implementation planning, and monitoring
- Provide support for clients throughout the delivery of change requests and ensure progress/issues are clearly communicated
- Plan and control the change request delivery process across internal Securities Services teams, ensuring a consistent approach
- Produce and track key Change MI and KPIs, reporting regularly to clients and internal stakeholders
- Ensure governance within the CCM team via regular reporting, financial control, RAID management, stakeholder management, and resource management
- Build key relationships with internal stakeholders and clients, sharing plans and strategic discussions
- Improve change request processes and develop own subject matter expertise
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, managing operational risk and promoting best practices
Requirements
To be successful, you will need:
- Experience in Client Change/Project management in Securities Services
- Financial Services experience, ideally in Fund Administration, Transfer Agency, or Middle Office
- Understanding of business change techniques and methodologies
- Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of project management approaches and tools
- Ability to prioritize demands, strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Team player capable of working with others
