About the Role
We are looking for a talented Financial Controller to join our Finance Team who will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of financial management for our Hong Kong and Macau entities. This includes corporate accounting, financial reporting, tax reporting, company secretarial matters, internal control policies and procedures, and external audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the accounting and reporting functions of Hong Kong and Macau entities.
Manage the overall reporting (month end, quarterly forecast, year end, annual budget, 5-year plan), ensure timeliness, accuracy and compliance with all regulatory and corporate reporting requirements.
Monitor and review accounts receivable, accounts payable, first cost/stock cost and payroll functions.
Liaise with internal and external auditors and tax advisors to manage the audit process and ensure tax compliance.
Establish, maintain and enhance robust internal controls and corporate governance practices.
Review and identify workflow for continuous improvements and lead finance systems enhancement and transformation projects to increase automation and efficiency.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Manage ERP setting and company secretarial matters for all entities.
Handle ad hoc tasks as assigned.
About You
- Degree in Accountancy or related disciplines with professional accountancy qualification (CPA, HKICPA/ACCA/CPAA or equivalent).
- Minimum 10+ years of solid and relevant experience from a sizeable company, preferably in the publishing or manufacturing industry.
- Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, Chinese, and Mandarin.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze, adapt, and drive change.
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with experience building partnerships.
- Devoted, analytical, competent, and with good business acumen.

Lead the Financial Control functions: ensure timely delivery of financial reporting, lead financial planning, track progress against plan, act as a business partner to the various business line leaders, decisively contribute to theexecution of the AXA HK business strategy.
- Ensure the appropriate structure, capability and governance of the finance controlling function to deliver business objectives.
- Ensure that timely and accurate financial reports, analyses, interpretations and advice are produced in compliance with the relevant financial reporting regulatory and statutory regulations in HK and for AXA Group financial reporting
- Ensure that financial planning, control processes and systems are developed, implemented and applied to AXA HK. This includes assisting in the monitoring and implementation of the strategic plan, budgeting, action plans, monitoring and communicating progress against plans, and analysing variance from budget to implement appropriate corrective actions
- Develop and implement financial control processes and procedures in AXA HK
- Drive the budgeting/expense management process and efficiency initiatives at company level
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial systems, procedures and processes to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the financial controlling function.
- Drive and manage Finance BAU and transformational projects; fulfil responsibilities on relevant transformation projects and committees to achieve business goals
- Act as a business partner with the Life, P&C and Health & EB Business Line leaders
- Manage the relationship with external auditors
- Lead and develop a team of finance professionals to to meet business challenges and objectives
Qualifications:
- Qualified CPA or equivalent
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in managing finance, actuarial, or a related field
- Experience in insurance or financial services industry is preferred
- Strong business acumen and change management skills
- Proven record in leading teams and stakeholder management
- The ability to resolve problems swiftly and effectively by applying
- both a tactical and strategic lens
- Capable of quickly analyzing and understanding numerical information to derive useful business intelligence for informed decision-making
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Financial Controlling team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Hong Kong Office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
This is a key leadership role with focus on leading, managing and coordinating a team of professionals to ensure excellence in outcomes of both technical and operational delivery. - Responsible and accountable for all financial accounting activities including general accounting, financial reporting and financial systems interface.
- Responsible for the stakeholder support model and to ensure high service quality and satisfaction and able to navigate and manage the size and complexity of the various operating companies and the regional office.
- Articulates and sets a clear vision that generates a strong sense of ‘one-team’ in support of delivering Controllership Global and Regional Goals and Objectives.
- Provide leadership and effective management to the controllership team, ensuring that all financial transactions are performed with speed and accuracy.
- Articulates a clear stakeholder support model designed to maintain Controllership credibility by delivering high quality support while maintaining Controller independence.
- Sets clear targets that take account of differing priorities of stakeholders and holds the Controllership Team accountable for the quality of support and overall stakeholder satisfaction.
- Builds relationships with all level stakeholders, checks-in periodically and intervenes decisively when required. Able to articulate the current state of relationships to senior management.
- Builds strong understanding of the business of corporate stakeholders including an understanding of their business operations, their priorities, risks and challenges.
- Actively engages co-workers in shared service centers in Malaysia and India for day-to-day operations that ensures timely and high-quality delivery across wide range activity.
- Accountable for the basics including the control environment, the trial balance, all accounting decisions and the quality of commentary, analysis and reporting; as well as the robustness of and compliance with the control environment.
- Ensures the compliance with local regulatory guidelines and legislation and Group corporate governance & internal control procedures to satisfy SOX & Internal Audit requirements.
- Manages external auditors and ensures compliance with relevant USGAAP / IFRS standards. Negotiate audit fees.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging accounting standards, providing guidance and recommendations to the business unit to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Proactively identifies, owns and resolves risks and issues and informs or escalates to management when appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent is required. Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a must.
- Strong experience in overseeing financial information, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and drive changes within a transforming and matrixed organization; streamlines and standardizes financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Ability to work and thrive in a high pressure, fast paced, multicultural, diverse & dynamic environment.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in controllership or finance function, with at least +5 years in a similar role within a multinational financial services organization.

This is a key leadership role with focus on leading, managing and coordinating a team of professionals to ensure excellence in outcomes of both technical and operational delivery. This is also a highly visible role accountable and ultimately responsible for quality and accuracy of the financials, all related accounting decisions, integrity of internal control compliance, timeliness and quality of all routine submissions including statutory filings and internal & external audits.

- Responsible and accountable for all financial accounting activities including general accounting, financial reporting and financial systems interface.
- Responsible for the stakeholder support model and to ensure high service quality and satisfaction and able to navigate and manage the size and complexity of the various operating companies and the regional office.
- Articulates and sets a clear vision that generates a strong sense of ‘one-team’ in support of delivering Controllership Global and Regional Goals and Objectives.
- Provide leadership and effective management to the controllership team, ensuring that all financial transactions are performed with speed and accuracy.
- Articulates a clear stakeholder support model designed to maintain Controllership credibility by delivering high quality support while maintaining Controller independence.
- Sets clear targets that take account of differing priorities of stakeholders and holds the Controllership Team accountable for the quality of support and overall stakeholder satisfaction.
- Builds relationships with all level stakeholders, checks-in periodically and intervenes decisively when required. Able to articulate the current state of relationships to senior management.
- Builds strong understanding of the business of corporate stakeholders including an understanding of their business operations, their priorities, risks and challenges.
- Actively engages co-workers in shared service centers in Malaysia and India for day-to-day operations that ensures timely and high-quality delivery across wide range activity.
- Accountable for the basics including the control environment, the trial balance, all accounting decisions and the quality of commentary, analysis and reporting; as well as the robustness of and compliance with the control environment.
- Ensures the compliance with local regulatory guidelines and legislation and Group corporate governance & internal control procedures to satisfy SOX & Internal Audit requirements.
- Manages external auditors and ensures compliance with relevant USGAAP / IFRS standards. Negotiate audit fees.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and emerging accounting standards, providing guidance and recommendations to the business unit to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Proactively identifies, owns and resolves risks and issues and informs or escalates to management when appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or the equivalent is required. Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is a must.
- Strong experience in overseeing financial information, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and drive changes within a transforming and matrixed organization; streamlines and standardizes financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Ability to work and thrive in a high pressure, fast paced, multicultural, diverse & dynamic environment.
- Minimum of 20 years of experience in controllership or finance function, with at least +5 years in a similar role within a multinational financial services organization.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance, with professional accounting qualifications
- 10+ years relevant accounting & finance experience, with solid manufacturing exposure
- Proficient in Chinese and English, including Putonghua
- Experience in garment/textiles/toys/handbag manufacturers is a plus
- An advantage if experience in both China and offshore factories
- Experience in Vietnam is a big plus
- Report to the Managing Director
- Fully manage all finance & accounting of HK office, China factory & Vietnam factory
- Plan and carry out accounting activities for the Group so as to maintain timely and accurate reports to management, local tax offices, auditors and bankers.
- Plan and implement measures to safeguard company assets, in terms of cash, inventory, and fixed assets
- Manage the accounting teams in Hong Kong, China and SE Asia, and meet deadlines for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly activities and reports assigned by management and local government and bankers
- Deal with banks in Hong Kong, China and Vietnam for banking facilities.
- Develop and implement accounting systems and practices for the Group
- Coordinate the respective department heads and the accounting team in annual budget preparation
- Handle all matters relating to tax, including annual audit, tax office queries for all business locations
- Prepare and present monthly business performance report at management meeting to highlight issues for management decisions
- Recruit, develop and motivate accounting team members
- Monitor and improve the accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department’s activities and reports
- Work based in Hong Kong with frequent trips to Guangdong and Vietnam
