  • Experience in real estate or financial sector preferred
  • Financial/Business literacy; understanding of corporate finance and valuation a plus
  • Exceptional bilingual (English & Chinese) writing ability
  • Proficiency in media monitoring and social listening tools
  • Strong understanding of SEO and digital best practices
  • Highly collaborative, displaying a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills for building stakeholder relationships

About The Role

As Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) celebrates two decades of success as a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company and the Hong Kong Government, we are seeking a strategic and visionary Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) Director of External Relations team to lead our external engagement efforts.

This role is pivotal in positioning HKDL as a premier tourism landmark and economic contributor, while cultivating high-impact relationships with government, public bodies, and key stakeholders across political, industry, and business sectors. The successful candidate will drive advocacy, policy influence, and stakeholder engagement to support HKDL’s development and reputation across Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (GBA).

You will serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leadership, connecting business needs across internal and external stakeholders, and shaping long-term plans that unlock commercial opportunities and foster a business-friendly environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute external relations strategies aligned with HKDL’s business priorities and growth milestones.
  • Lead shareholder engagement and governance matters in partnership with Legal and Finance, including but not limited to JV board meetings and project steering committee.
  • Anticipate and manage potential or emerging sensitive issues involving government departments, political entities, and NGOs to develop tailored advocacy strategies.
  • Collaborate with Media Relations, Finance, Legal, and Segment teams on annual business reviews and economic impact studies to ensure the establishment of an ever-green narrative with clear articulation of HKDL’s value to the community
  • Collaborate with the wider CPA teams and other Lines of Business (LOBs) to provide strategic counsel on regulatory, public policy, and political matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Hong Kong government bureaus, Central Government agents, foreign consular corps, political parties, unions, and business associations.
  • Shape regional outreach strategies, especially in the GBA and mainland China, to elevate HKDL’s profile and unlock new opportunities.
  • Oversee industry relations through partnerships with The Hong Kong Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (HKAAPA), Lantau Development Alliance (LaDA), and other regional tourism and theme park entities.
  • Advise executives on participation in key associations and manage high-level protocols for official visits and exchanges.


Preferred Skills And Experience


  • University degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in Government Relations, Public Administration, Public Affairs, or Communications.
  • First-hand experience working with government bodies, public institutions, or political parties; or senior public affairs roles in multinational corporations.
  • Strong leadership and a collaborative with a proactive mindset.
  • Deep understanding of Hong Kong’s legislative processes, political landscape, and governmental operation
  • Proven experience navigating GBA and mainland China networks is highly crucial.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect business needs across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skilled in influencing and persuading diverse stakeholders to align with HKDL’s vision and objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive progress under pressure.
  • Executive presence with the ability to simplify complex ideas and consolidate input from senior leaders.
  • Business-savvy integrator who can link external relations strategies to broader business and CPA goals.
  • Language proficiency in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin is required.

IHKSports is seeking a talented individual as our Marketing & Communications Manager. Our manager will be based in Hong Kong, working under the direction of the Deputy Chief Executive.

Job Responsibilities and Duties

  • Strategy - Closely work with the Deputy Chief Executive and the Chief Executive to plan for the upcoming marketing strategies to strengthen our brand image, brand identity and fundraising effort as well as better communicate our social impact to the public;
  • Events - Assist the Fundraising team to plan and organise events that serve the purpose of fundraising, such as seasonal campaigns, organization branding events, running competitions etc.;
  • Events - Support events organised by the programme team to advise them on branding, event management & execution;
  • Marketing & Communications - Conduct analysis, provide insight and support to the Foundation to better understand market trends, youth trends and dynamics. Identify opportunities in markets where there are unmet needs;
  • Marketing & Communications - To manage the Communications Team in the marketing team to support the day-to-day marketing and communications work of the charity, including but not limited to managing the production of annual reports, brochures, eDMs, e-newsletters, presentations, social media posts and other corporate communication materials etc. to develop the highest standards of marketing communication collaterals in line with organisation guidelines;
  • Marketing & Communications – Support the above Officer to collaborate with programme staff to develop compelling storytelling to convey how donors’ contributions are being used on the ground, including but not limited to photo and video presentation, reaching out to media agencies and encourage the reporting of events and stories;
  • Marketing & Communications – Assist the Public Education Team to build awareness for public education and advocacy campaigns.
  • Visit IHKSports classes/activities regularly to understand the organisation work at the front-line;
  • Perform any other marketing-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Degree holder in any discipline with 5- 7 years’ experience in communications/ charity marketing/sports marketing/event management. Candidates with less experience might be considered for the Assistant Manager position;
  • Proven track record of collaborative approach to problem solving, experience building internal relationships and operating effectively with cross-functional partners, experience advising teams, and senior executives on fundraising & marketing matters;
  • Responsive to WhatsApp group messages and emails, strong resilience to work under stress;
  • Strong finance acumen;
  • Strong sports/charity marketing sense, creative and independent;
  • A leader to host and manage events with confidence and a sense of team;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic with a command of written and spoken in English, Mandarin and Cantonese;
  • A strong team player capable of working with different personalities from different functional backgrounds;
  • Strong ability to complete multiple assignments concurrently whilst balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines;
  • Willing to travel to various districts in Hong Kong in weekday evenings and weekends, with transport subsidy and compensation leave;
  • Knowledge of and passion for sports and the charitable sector are preferred.

On top of the statutory holidays, maternity leave and paternity leave, IHKSports offers 15 days of annual leave, birthday leave and health insurance with dental benefits. Other staff benefits include a one-hour early leave every month to do individual sports, a wellness day every month to do team sports together and flexible working hours at the office, compensation leave for overtime working, compassionate leave, and marriage leave (upon completion of 1-year service). The office is closed on the last day of each calendar year and the day before the Chinese New Year.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for public affairs, media relations, marketing, content creation, visual production & corporate identity management for the Corporation;
  • Organize marketing events & relationship management;
  • Assist in formulating and implementing effective corporate communications & marketing strategies and plans to boost local & overseas awareness of the Corporation;
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to effectively deliver high-impact media engagement events to promote the Corporation and its subsidiaries;
  • Assist the team in creating content and executing content plans for various social media platforms; Lead and handle all publication and visual production projects;
  • Conduct market research, client survey & data analysis;
  • Oversee corporate identity & information management practices;
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or the management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Translation, Language, or other related disciplines;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in marketing & corporate communications;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua);
  • Familiar with media environment and strong in media relations;
  • Internet savvy, familiar with social media administration, digital content development, and digital marketing;
  • Experience in client data management & research;
  • A positive, flexible team player with a can-do spirit and solution-driven mentality;
  • An organized individual good at work prioritization and beating deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
  • Detail-minded and with good communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
