Role description:
Nomura is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic individual to head the firm's External Communications and Branding & Marketing teams in Asia ex-Japan. The successful candidate will lead strategic advice to Nomura's business and corporate heads on how to enhance and protect the brand through both proactive and reactive engagement with the press as well as deepen Nomura's thought leadership and content strategy via paid and owned channels such as social media and websites. The role will involve regular interaction with target media journalists and editors, publishers, media buying agency, senior internal stakeholders and global Corporate Communications counterparts.
Additional responsibilities:
- External Communications
- Lead external communications and media relations across Asia ex-Japan, overseeing a small team that sits across Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing
- Advise the firm's investment banking, global markets, international wealth management and investment management businesses on their external communications strategy
- Partner with senior management to prepare and write narratives, talking points, speeches and press releases, and execute plans to enhance brand visibility
- Arrange interviews, media teach-ins, press briefings, media conference calls
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists relevant for each business across a mix of international and local media
- Enhance thought leadership by getting the firm's economists, strategists and business leaders to engage regularly with the press
- Train or arrange training for media spokespeople who will represent the firm
- Prepare crisis communications strategies and manage reputational risks
- Manage PR agencies in markets where Nomura engages them

- Stay updated on latest in digital advertising trends and propose effective ways to integrate them into the group's branding and marketing strategy
- Write, review and manage content from the region for owned channels including Nomura's thought leadership website
- Oversee and manage the firm's social media (LinkedIn, X) content from Asia including reviewing and rewriting social media policies alongside compliance teams, and generating monitoring and metrics reports as needed
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to manage the creation of marketing materials (e.g. brochures, pitch books, fact sheets, websites, branded gifts, on-brand visual identities for events) for businesses and corporate functions such as HR

Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, leading and executing marketing campaign for APAC, integrating with the corporate segment marketing teams as well as local sales team on campaign priorities, plans, and developing demand creation programs.

Develop marketing plans for trade shows to boost attendance.
Analyze market trends and competitor activities to improve strategies.
Work with Hong Kong and China teams to ensure smooth collaboration.
Content Creation & Partnership Building
Create and review promotional materials such as brochures, press releases, website, and digital content.
Build and maintain relationships with overseas media, industry influencers, and business partners.
Manage and segment buyer information to improve audience engagement.
Event Planning & Resources Integration
Plan event schedules and handle logistics to ensure smooth execution.
Integrate internal and external resources, maximizing synergy across teams, partners, and vendors.
Performance Tracking & Other Tasks
Monitor marketing performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Manage budgets for marketing communications activities.
Handle additional duties as assigned, and be prepared for occasional travel.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications, Business or related field.
A minimum of 8 years experience in marketing communications or marketing, preferably in the trade show or event management industry.
Experience in managing a team.
Proficiency in both Cantonese, Mandarin as well as English. Additional foreign language skills are a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical skills to interpret data and convert to market insights.
Excellent project management abilities.
Detailed-minded, well-organized and be able to work independently.
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to build relationships within the industry and leverage them for promotional opportunities.
A very good team leader and team player.
