Employee Services Manager at ATAL Engineering Group (ATAL)

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate and implement strategic promotional campaigns and programmes to drive brand awareness and engagement
  • Assist in annual and interim results announcement and production of annual and interim reports;
  • Support planning, content design, and logistics of corporate events, conferences, exhibitions, trade shows, CSR programmes, stakeholder and staff engagement activities, etc.
  • Prepare content and manage the production for communication materials such as newsletters, videos, press releases, speeches, brochures, social media posts, presentations, editorials, website, internal announcements, etc.
  • Coordinate arrangements for corporate memberships
  • Manage the sourcing and production of corporate gifts
  • Monitor daily news in relation to the Group and its projects
  • Offer ad hoc support for other initiatives as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements:

  • A recognised Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or other related disciplines
  • A minimum of 2-6 years’ working experience, preferably in corporate communications, event management or community engagement in sizable companies or agencies; experience in financial communications, digital/social media communications or video production will be a strong advantage
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing
  • Proactive, well-organised, detail-minded, independent, responsive, a fast learner with multi-tasking ability
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills
  • Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Corporate Communications Officer
  • Immediate availability is preferred

About The Role

  • Oversee the company’s corporate communication function for thought leadership building, corporate and business promotion and reputation management
  • Help AIA sustain #1 brand awareness and consideration with distant leadership.
  • Act as a key person to strategise communications assets to maximise business and brand benefits.


Roles And Responsibilities

Developing and Implementing Communication Strategies:

  • This includes creating and executing comprehensive communication plans to support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Ensuring that all communication activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.


Media Relations

  • Managing relationships with key media contacts, industry influencers, and stakeholders, and handling media inquiries and interviews.


Crisis Management

  • Developing and implementing communication plans for crises, issues, and emergencies, and ensuring the timely and effective communication of information to stakeholders.


Brand Management

  • Maintaining a consistent brand image and voice across corporate communications, ensuring alignment with the company's values and mission.


Monitoring And Analysis

  • Analyzing media coverage and communication efforts to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and making recommendations for strategy adjustments.


Team And Budget Management

  • Leading and coaching the corporate communication team, managing communication agency partners, and allocating resources effectively
  • Support the Customer and Marketing Function in projects as required


Minimum Job Requirements

  • University degree holder or above, preferably in journalism, communications, PR & marketing discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in corporate communications and/or public and media relations. Experience in insurance industry is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in leading communications and reputation management
  • Demonstrate curiosity and eagerness to keep abreast of the latest market trends
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stockholders.

Support the Corporate Communications team in its planning and implementation of the Company’s communications and publicity activities, media and community events, as well as the production of print and online publications and collaterals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain close liaison with internal departments and external parties and agencies to facilitate the execution of the Company’s communications strategies
  • To be a key team member in organising corporate and community events
  • Support the Company's interim / annual results announcement, interim / annual reports and AGM, with collaterals including but not limited to PPT, video, QA, press release, speeches, invitation, event logistics, etc.
  • Act as a gatekeeper for key messaging of the Company and conduct editing of various forms of documents
  • Help liaise with and review NGOs’ and community groups’ donation / sponsorship / membership / collaboration proposals and venue requests
  • Maintain corporate website and social media platforms
  • Handle general enquiries from the media and the public, as well as potential issues
  • Assist in maintaining a departmental resources database (media, photos, publications) and archive system
  • Act as a central co-ordinator and administrator of the team to ensure its day-to-day smooth operations

Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • Degree holder in communications, journalism, languages, marketing or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of corporate communications or financial PR experience in an in-house or agency environment
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua is an advantage
  • An enthusiastic team player with good communications, co-ordination and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with an outgoing personality, can-do spirit, and sense of ownership
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications

Job Duties

  • Conduct environmental scans and industry research to identify emerging trends and insights that inform thought leadership initiatives.

Media Liaison

  • Develop and distribute press releases, media kits, briefing notes, and other communication materials to support media engagement and storytelling.
  • Coordinate media interviews and press conferences to maximize media coverage and brand visibility.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across all external communications.

Crisis Management

  • Maintain and execute a comprehensive crisis communications plan, including detailed response procedures for potential and unforeseen crises relevant to the Fintech industry.
  • Coordinate with designated spokespeople to manage media inquiries and public statements during crisis situations. Communicate transparently and empathetically with stakeholders, including employees, clients, investors, and the public, during crises to maintain trust and credibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, and event management; experience in the Banking/ Finance or Fintech industry is a plus
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Proven expertise in message house development, press release formulation, and articulating brand messaging and product go-to-market strategies
  • Agile personality with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a commitment to delivering extraordinary results with speed and efficiency

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1,500 technologies to the industries and been granted more than 1,100 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.

To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

Job Responsibilities:

Report directly to the CEO and oversee the following areas:

Ecosystem Engagement

  • Foster ASTRI's leading position in contributing to and driving collaborations within the innovation and technology (I&T) ecosystem in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area (GBA), and internationally by gathering insights into key players, trends, government initiatives and upstream research channels.
  • Initiate and execute new strategies to enhance ASTRI's leadership in supporting the I&T ecosystem.
  • Develop the four established alliances in (1) Microelectronics Technology, (2) Smart Mobility Technology (C-V2X) (3) Fintech and ESG, (4) Contech and Protech.
  • Create an ecosystem for building and nurturing technology talent in public and private tech companies in Hong Kong, the GBA, and abroad, while exploring alternative funding sources to support this ecosystem.
  • Act as ASTRI's representative for public connections and speeches within the ecosystem.

Corporate Communications (Marketing, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, and Public Mission)

  • Lead a team in developing and implementing marketing strategies to support ASTRI's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology divisions, operations, marketing, finance, and client development, to ensure alignment of marketing strategies with business goals.
  • Oversee marketing functions, including brand management, content marketing for online, digital, and offline communications channels, CRM, and liaising with industry, universities, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze and report key performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive corporate communications strategies to enhance ASTRI's brand presence and reputation and handle emergencies.
  • Supervise the creation of compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, articles, speeches, and social media platforms.
  • Plan and execute corporate events, such as conferences, seminars, and product launches, to enhance brand visibility.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and key stakeholders to maximize positive media coverage.
  • Drive and execute ASTRI's strategy for public mission and CSR-related programs, ensuring alignment with government policies.
  • Support the execution of corporate strategies and handle ad-hoc assignments as directed by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, or related disciplines. An MBA is a strong plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing management and strategic marketing leadership and/or corporate communication, preferably in the ICT ecosystem industry in Hong Kong, with a robust network of stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with the government, particularly in Innovation and Technology, is an advantage.
  • Proven abilities in stakeholder management, driving collaborations, and forming partnerships.
  • An assertive, resilient, and organized leader of high integrity, with sound business acumen and judgment.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Highly motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally worka five-day week.

  • Knowledge in Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, After Effect, Premiere or Final Cut Pro X is preferable;
  • Experience in multimedia production is a strong advantage;
  • Eager to learn, responsible, proactive, well-organized, creative, agile, and multi-tasking traits;
  • Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure, required to work overtime and sometimes at irregular hours during event days;
  • Strong proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  • Immediate availability is highly preferred.

This role will drive internal communications and stakeholder engagement, while providing comprehensive secretarial support to the Managing Director of the North Asia Cluster. This multifaceted role involves designing and implementing internal communication plans, crafting engaging content for cluster wide communications, while managing the MD's schedule & travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement comprehensive communication plans and materials to support internal communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Craft and distribute internal communications to keep employees informed and engaged, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This includes creating engaging content for internal platforms and organizing employee events
  • Develop engaging and informative content for various channels including social media, website articles, internal newsletters and executive communications
  • Support to coordinate company and employee activities to foster a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Proactively manage the Managing Director's calendar, meetings and appointments including a yearly planner to maximize efficiency and strategic use of time
  • Coordinate complex travel arrangements and itineraries for the MD, visiting executives, maison guests and VIPs ensuring a seamless and best in class experience
  • Leverage AI to capture minutes of meetings and do the follow up on Action Points.
  • Implement and manage efficient filing systems, databases and contact management to safeguard critical information and provide comprehensive support to the MD on all reasonable business requests
