Employee Communications and Event Management:

  • Support the management of staff communications events i.e. global Town Halls, company anniversary celebrations, employee events
  • Draft and issue news stories on the intranet, staff communications notes etc.

Corporate philanthropy: Oversee the operations and marketing of CSI’s charitable trust

  • Produce quality industry/peer research and benchmarking analysis
  • Develop marketing and communications materials to promote the charitable initiatives
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations of charitable initiatives

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field
  • 6-8 years’ experience in B2B communications, media or marketing either in-house or with a public relations consultancy in the financial or related industry
  • Have excellent English and Chinese (Mandarin) written and spoken communications skills, including the ability to write English and Simplified Chinese copy for marketing documents
  • Have Web and intranet writing and content management skills and experience
  • Demonstrated success in branding campaigns and event management
  • Experience in managing or supporting corporate philanthropy initiatives is highly preferred
  • Understand the media landscape and communications trends, and be confident in dealing with media and journalists
  • A team player, driven and proactive
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and PowerPoint

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, the incumbent will perform the following responsibilities to enhance HKGI’s brand awareness and foster public understanding of genomic medicine by planning and implementing a wide range of publicity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality bilingual corporate messages and write-ups to promote the vision, mission, and achievements of HKGI
  • Produce corporate publications and multimedia content, such as annual reports, leaflets, videos, and branding items, managing the entire production process from creative concept to printing and production
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the quality and accuracy of publicity materials
  • Raise HKGI’s brand awareness by managing its online publicity channels, including the corporate website and social media platforms, from developing engaging posts and visuals to monitoring performance and impact
  • Plan and organise corporate events and visits, ensuring smooth implementation through effective management of budget, schedule, logistics, and post-event follow-ups
  • Perform any other duties assigned by senior officers


Requirements

We are seeking a high-calibre candidate for the post of Manager (Corporate Communications) who possesses:

  • A university degree in English and Literature, Language Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, or related disciplines
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, preferably gained in sizable public organisations
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, with solid skills in bilingual copywriting and development of impactful corporate stories
  • Proven experience in design and production of corporate publications, such as annual reports, newsletters, and videos
  • Professional knowledge and experience in managing corporate website and LinkedIn, including applications of SEO and CMS tools; experience in website revamp is an advantage
  • Proven track record in planning and organising events and publicity campaigns targeting diverse stakeholders, including the general public and professionals
  • Strategic thinking and attention to detail
  • A proactive, self-driven attitude with the ability to work independently in a dynamic setting
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, resourcefulness, and ability to multi-task


Office Location: Hong Kong Science Park, Shatin

Remuneration

Successful candidate will be offered attractive remuneration and be appointed on an initial two-year contract (subject to mutual agreement for contract renewal).

  • Media Relations - Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media contacts, journalists, stock commentators, and industry influencers to secure positive coverage and amplify brand messaging.
  • Media Monitoring - Monitor media channels and industry trends, providing strategic insights and recommendations for effective communication initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across all communication platforms and touchpoints.
  • Content Creation - Draft and edit high-quality written content in English and Chinese for press releases, articles, social media posts, and other communication materials, ensuring clarity and impact.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably within a publicly listed company. Experience in the retail or FMCG industry is highly desirable.
  • Possess strong media relations with local and PRC media outlets, along with capabilities in storytelling and media pitching.
  • Experience in managing large-scale events such as Results Announcement or press conference.
  • Strong understanding of retail industry dynamics, consumer behavior, and market trends.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills in both English and Chinese are essential.
  • Familiar with digital communication tools, social media platforms, and contemporary integrated communication strategies.
  • Willing to be stationed in Shanghai and travel as needed for media events or activities.

About The Role

  • Oversee the company’s corporate communication function for thought leadership building, corporate and business promotion and reputation management
  • Help AIA sustain #1 brand awareness and consideration with distant leadership.
  • Act as a key person to strategise communications assets to maximise business and brand benefits.


Roles And Responsibilities

Developing and Implementing Communication Strategies:

  • This includes creating and executing comprehensive communication plans to support the company's goals and objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in corporate communications.
  • Ensuring that all communication activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines.


Media Relations

  • Managing relationships with key media contacts, industry influencers, and stakeholders, and handling media inquiries and interviews.


Crisis Management

  • Developing and implementing communication plans for crises, issues, and emergencies, and ensuring the timely and effective communication of information to stakeholders.


Brand Management

  • Maintaining a consistent brand image and voice across corporate communications, ensuring alignment with the company's values and mission.


Monitoring And Analysis

  • Analyzing media coverage and communication efforts to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and making recommendations for strategy adjustments.


Team And Budget Management

  • Leading and coaching the corporate communication team, managing communication agency partners, and allocating resources effectively
  • Support the Customer and Marketing Function in projects as required


Minimum Job Requirements

  • University degree holder or above, preferably in journalism, communications, PR & marketing discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in corporate communications and/or public and media relations. Experience in insurance industry is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in leading communications and reputation management
  • Demonstrate curiosity and eagerness to keep abreast of the latest market trends
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with internal and external stockholders.
