Applications are invited for the position of Product Development Scientist (Ref.: H01/2025/053) to work on an innovative research project developing a novel system including instruments, consumable chips, reagents, and software for IVD at the Hong Kong Science Park.

Job Description
  • Lead reagent development for the project, driving R&D activities with defined goals and timelines, and resolving experimental issues based on professional knowledge and literature research.
  • Mentor the reagent development team to monitor progress.
  • Collaborate with the bioinformatics team to interpret experimental results and validate experimental designs.
  • Coordinate with teams such as instrumentation, production, quality, and marketing to facilitate product translation.
  • Perform additional tasks as required by the team.
Skills and Requirements
  • Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, immunology, clinical sciences, or a related field, with a solid background in molecular biology and experimental skills.
  • Experience in reagent product development is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience in droplet microfluidics, digital PCR, next-generation sequencing, or qPCR reagent development.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.

As a Vice President, Product Development, your main responsibilities will include:

A Successful Vice President, Product Development Should Have

  • Bachelor's degree or above, with substantial experience in the asset management industry.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product development.
  • Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing fund structures across various jurisdictions.
  • Broad knowledge of investment products, including equities, fixed income, alternatives, quantitative strategies, and ETFs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven project management capabilities with a track record of delivering results.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English and Mandarin.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

As the Product Development Manager at Schroders, you will assist the Head of Product Development, Hong Kong in providing support to oversee products for Hong Kong and cross-border China. These product activities spanning from development of new products, share class ideas, ongoing maintenance & governance and termination of products, to coordination and maintenance of internal and external product materials, which include working closely with Client Group, Investment and other relevant teams, within Hong Kong and across different locations in Asia Pacific Region.

Job Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the Product Development Manager at Schroders, you will assist the Head of Product Development, Hong Kong in providing support to oversee products for Hong Kong and cross-border China. These product activities spanning from development of new products, share class ideas, ongoing maintenance & governance and termination of products, to coordination and maintenance of internal and external product materials, which include working closely with Client Group, Investment and other relevant teams, within Hong Kong and across different locations in Asia Pacific Region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management and support implementation of onshore product lifecycle activities, product-related initiatives and other relevant projects from time to time, including but not limited to new fund launches, terminations and changes triggered by changes in regulations.
  • Coordinate product updates and changes of offshore funds that will impact the region, including liaison with local Product Development teams for feedback where necessary on any local requirements to Product Development Team in London and relevant teams in Luxembourg for delivery of cross-border initiatives.
  • Participate and keep abreast of various local and regulatory initiatives (i.e. through internal teams, industry forum, conference, meetings with regulator) in order to assess impacts and coordinate discussion with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary changes to authorized local and cross border funds.
  • Manage internal product approval processes e.g. Hong Kong Executive Committee, Asia Pacific Product Development Committee (APAC PDC) and liaise with London for the relevant internal approvals if necessary.
  • Coordinate within the region on regular update on product health check and product lifecycle activities.
  • Operate as SME on product related matters to support local and regional sales and marketing efforts.
  • Work with Legal and other relevant teams on the update of the Hong Kong product documentation including fund prospectus, KFS and related ESG disclosure.
  • Support the regional APAC Product Development team and Client Group in identifying product gaps and opportunities, new strategies, capitalizing on market (i.e. MRF , GBA), regulatory and ESG developments / trends and reviewing commercial viability of APAC product ranges.
  • Assist to review and update the team’s manual and checklist to ensure the team’s processes are up-to-date and relevant and operate adhering to protocol and processes, including in relation to investment delegation and key investment personnel, for compliant to the relevant regulatory requirement
  • Provide on the job coaching to junior members of the team.

To be successful in this role you should possess the following requisites:

  • Degree graduate with preferably at least 5 years of relevant fund industry experience (a strong plus if Product Development related).
  • Proactive and adaptable approach.

We are seeking an experienced and visionary product leader to head the development and management of life insurance products that integrate across diverse markets. This role is central to driving innovation, strategic alignment and customer-centricity in our product portfolio, supporting our mission to enhance financial wellness and healthy living across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and execute a regional product strategy that aligns with the company’s vision of holistic wealth and health solutions.
  • Lead the development of differentiated products, including investment-linked policies, protection riders, HNW solutions, and wellness-based incentives tailored to consumer needs.


Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, ensuring alignment with local market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to ensure sound pricing and risk management.
  • Establish & lead a centralised Group HNW Product management unit for the development of product solutions and proposition for HNW segments, with localisation for the different markets.


Market Intelligence & Innovation

  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis across key markets
  • Identify emerging trends in health tech, digital wealth platforms, and customer behavior to enhance our product value proposition and providing value-added services.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with group and local teams in distribution, marketing, digital, operations, Health to ensure successful product launches and adoption.
  • Engage with regulators, reinsurers, and strategic partners to support product approval and market entry.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Health, or related field
  • 15+ years of experience in life insurance product management, with a strong track record in wealth and/or health product lines.
  • Proven leadership experience in regional or multi-market roles.
  • Understanding of regulatory environments and consumer preferences across different markets.
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with HNW, wealth, protection (including riders), investment-linked solutions, or health platforms.
  • Familiarity with insurtech innovations and digital ecosystems.
  • Multilingual capabilities and cultural fluency across the region.
  • Passion for improving customer well-being through integrated insurance solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Product Development Manager at Schroders, you will assist the Head of Product Development, Hong Kong in providing support to oversee products for Hong Kong and cross-border China. These product activities spanning from development of new products, share class ideas, ongoing maintenance & governance and termination of products, to coordination and maintenance of internal and external product materials, which include working closely with Client Group, Investment and other relevant teams, within Hong Kong and across different locations in Asia Pacific Region.
Key Responsibilities

  • Project management and support implementation of onshore product lifecycle activities, product-related initiatives and other relevant projects from time to time, including but not limited to new fund launches, terminations and changes triggered by changes in regulations.
  • Coordinate product updates and changes of offshore funds that will impact the region, including liaison with local Product Development teams for feedback where necessary on any local requirements to Product Development Team in London and relevant teams in Luxembourg for delivery of cross-border initiatives.
  • Participate and keep abreast of various local and regulatory initiatives (i.e. through internal teams, industry forum, conference, meetings with regulator) in order to assess impacts and coordinate discussion with relevant stakeholders to implement necessary changes to authorized local and cross border funds.
  • Manage internal product approval processes e.g. Hong Kong Executive Committee, Asia Pacific Product Development Committee (APAC PDC) and liaise with London for the relevant internal approvals if necessary.
  • Coordinate within the region on regular update on product health check and product lifecycle activities.
  • Operate as SME on product related matters to support local and regional sales and marketing efforts.
  • Work with Legal and other relevant teams on the update of the Hong Kong product documentation including fund prospectus, KFS and related ESG disclosure.
  • Support the regional APAC Product Development team and Client Group in identifying product gaps and opportunities, new strategies, capitalizing on market (i.e. MRF , GBA), regulatory and ESG developments / trends and reviewing commercial viability of APAC product ranges.
  • Assist to review and update the team’s manual and checklist to ensure the team’s processes are up-to-date and relevant and operate adhering to protocol and processes, including in relation to investment delegation and key investment personnel, for compliant to the relevant regulatory requirement
  • Provide on the job coaching to junior members of the team.
To be successful in this role you should possess the following requisites:
  • Degree graduate with preferably at least 5 years of relevant fund industry experience (a strong plus if Product Development related).
  • Proactive and adaptable approach.
