Job Responsibilities
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

  • Develop computer vision algorithms and imaging data generation algorithms
  • Conduct code implementation, debugging and testing for algorithms
  • Develop the whole software solution for both the project deliverables and the customer deliverables
  • Provide technical support for industrial partners

Job Requirements

  • Ph.D. holder or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant disciplines with a minimum of 2 years of related experiences for the Lead Engineer position. Candidate with less experiences may also be considered for the Senior Engineer position.
  • Strong programming skills in C++/C/Python/CUDA
  • Expertise in 2D computer vision algorithm and familiar with OpenCV
  • Expertise in 3D data generation based on structured light and stereo vision
  • Expertise in 3D point cloud post processing
  • Good command of written and spoken English, self-motivated and good communication skills

Job Description

Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong's competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI's core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies; Communications Technologies; IoT Sensing and AI Technologies; and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred about 1,600 technologies to the industry and has been granted close to 1,200 patents in the Mainland, the United States, and other countries.

Job Responsibilities
To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

  • AI chip software toolchain development including compilation, quantization, optimization, simulation, etc.
  • Closely work with hardware team for AI chip software and hardware co-design
  • Participate in system design, implementation, and integration for commercialization and customer support
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree or above in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or relevant disciplines, with minimum 5 years of related experience
  • Candidates with less experience will also be considered as Senior Engineer/ Engineer/Engineering Associate
  • Strong in C/C++ and python coding is a must
  • Experience in AI algorithm or software toolchain (e.g. quantizer/compiler) is preferred
  • Experience in embedded system and driver/firmware development is an advantage
  • Knowledge of AI chip hardware design is an advantage
  • Team player with good analytical skill, trouble shooting, and communication skill

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
