APAC Research Lead

We have partnered with a global real estate investment manager and looking to appoint a senior-level professional to lead their APAC research function, based in Hong Kong. This role will focus on analyzing macroeconomic indicators, financial markets, and real estate trends to inform investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and interpret data on real estate, financial, and economic developments across key Asia Pacific markets.
- Contribute market commentary for annual strategic plans related to assets managed in the region.
- Produce research papers and thought leadership materials addressing market developments and their implications for investment.
- Develop visual content and presentations that effectively communicate market dynamics to clients and stakeholders.
- Translate broad market movements into actionable insights that support investment performance and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with the acquisitions team to evaluate potential investments, including market assessments, competitive analysis, and risk identification.
- Engage with senior leadership and clients through meetings and calls to present findings and recommendations.
- Undergraduate degree in economics, statistics, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or CFA designation are advantageous.
- 7–10 years of experience in real estate research, consulting, finance, or economics. Candidates with strong analytical and writing skills from other sectors will also be considered.
- Background in commercial real estate is preferred.
- Familiarity with multiple Asia Pacific markets is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
- Skilled in database management and analysis.
- Demonstrates intellectual rigor, curiosity, and the ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:
Major Duties And Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) for the Research Project “Linguistic Accommodation of Mainland Chinese Professionals in Hong Kong – Challenges and Pathways to Integration” . The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Assisting the PI in recruiting subjects for the study;
- Assisting the PI in conducting surveys and interviews;
- Assisting the PI in analyzing the data with appropriate statistical instruments, and disseminating the project data;
- Assisting the PI in preparing the interim and final reports; and
- Carrying out other relevant work as assigned by the PI.
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A Bachelor’s degree in linguistics or language studies;
- Experience in conducting surveys and interviews;
- Knowledge in doing statistical analysis of survey data; and
- Proficiency in Cantonese, Putonghua and English.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project “Translating Hong Kong Literature: An Assessment of the Impact of Translation of Hong Kong Literature on the Visibility of Hong Kong Literature”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Performing and organising literature reviews;
- Synthesising and organising research findings for conference presentations and publications;
- Handling administrative tasks related to the Project; and
- Assisting the Principal Investigator in all necessary tasks relevant to the Project.
Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience And Competence
- At least 5 subjects with Level 2 in HKDSE or equivalent, including English & Chinese languages and Mathematics / Diploma (for Technical Assistant);
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of literary studies, English studies, Hong Kong studies, Translation studies, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant);
- A strong sense of responsibility and good interpersonal skills;
- Good analytical and writing skills;
- Competence in computer skills (e.g., MS Office); and
- Priority will be given to candidates with relevant research experience.

Major Duties And Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator for the Research Project “Translating Hong Kong Literature: An Assessment of the Impact of Translation of Hong Kong Literature on the Visibility of Hong Kong Literature”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Performing and organising literature reviews;
- Synthesising and organising research findings for conference presentations and publications;
- Handling administrative tasks related to the Project; and
- Assisting the Principal Investigator in all necessary tasks relevant to the Project.
Candidates Should Possess The Following Qualifications, Experience And Competence
- At least 5 subjects with Level 2 in HKDSE or equivalent, including English & Chinese languages and Mathematics / Diploma (for Technical Assistant);
- A Bachelor’s degree in the field of literary studies, English studies, Hong Kong studies, Translation studies, or a related discipline (for Research Assistant);
- A strong sense of responsibility and good interpersonal skills;
- Good analytical and writing skills;
- Competence in computer skills (e.g., MS Office); and
- Priority will be given to candidates with relevant research experience.
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time/full-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
