- Risk mitigation: Actively assess and mitigate supply chain risks, such as geopolitical changes or global disruptions. Develop contingency plans and explore diversified sourcing strategies to ensure business continuity.
- Sustainability and ESG: Incorporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into procurement decisions. This includes reducing carbon footprints, promoting ethical sourcing, and advancing circular economy principles.
- Technology integration: Leverage digital tools, including ERP systems (like Odoo, Salesforce, SAP, Oracle), e-procurement platforms, and data analytics software, to automate processes, track performance, and gain insights from spending data.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with other departments like finance, operations, and legal to understand their needs and align procurement strategies with overall business goals.
- Performance monitoring: Track and report on key metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and on-time delivery rates to senior management.
