The Role:

As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving sales growth and expanding our customer base within the vibrant Hong Kong research community. You will leverage your scientific knowledge and sales acumen to understand the unique needs of researchers and position LAB-A-PORTER's solutions effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities with academic institutions, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organizations, and research laboratories across Hong Kong.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with new and existing clients, understanding their research needs and providing tailored solutions from our extensive product portfolio.
  • Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features and benefits of our offerings.
  • Provide exceptional pre-sales and post-sales technical support and consultation to clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve and exceed agreed-upon sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities, and new scientific advancements relevant to our product lines (e.g., disease modelling, drug discovery, cell and gene therapy, tissue engineering).
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including marketing and logistics, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecast, and contribute to sales strategy development.
  • Represent LAB-A-PORTER at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a Life Sciences discipline (e.g., Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, or related field).
  • Strong understanding of research laboratory techniques and workflows, particularly in areas such as cell culture, molecular biology, immunology, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, negotiate effectively, and close sales.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English and Cantonese is essential; Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
  • Applicants must be a permanent Hong Kong resident or possess a valid visa to work in Hong Kong.

Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Executive is required to source new customers and business contacts, demonstrate the technical features of our products, drive sales, and maintain strong customer relations; to monitor the operating processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and maintain in good quality standard.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to Sales Account Manager on performance of the sales and project follow up;
  • Explore new business opportunities, establish & maintain excellent relationships with clients;
  • Initiate and execute the sales action plan directed by supervisors in order to achieve the projected sales targets;
  • Liaise with clients and site personnel to obtain specification or direct sales of company's products and services;
  • Ensuring all projects or orders are of high-quality standard and maintaining image of the company;
  • Monitoring project progress from initial negotiation for specification to after sales follow up;
  • Preparation for all sales & warranty documentation and maintain the completed and updated customer related records;
  • Conducting service/product review to collect the customer satisfaction and feedback;
  • Supporting an effective implementation and enhancement of the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) i.e. ISO operations; and
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned if necessary

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Sales & Marketing, with solid experience in project management preferable;
  • Fluent spoken & written skills in English & Cantonese;
  • Good team player with strong initiative & able to work under pressure;
  • Self-motivated, willingness to learn & hard-working;
  • Immediate available or short notice is highly preferred
  • Possess existing network with contractors, consultants and developers is highly preferred; candidates with relevant background will be considered as Senior Technical Sales Executive;
  • Fresh graduates with interest in sales & marketing will be considered, training will be provided

Benefits

  • Basic Salary: negotiable depending on existing salary and relevant experience
  • Guaranteed 13th month payment and Quarterly discretionary performance bonus (after 6 months' service, normally 1-1.5 month per quarter)

You will act as the primary business driver for the Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring solutions in the Asia Region, strategically build and expand relationships with complex clients. Your focus will be to identify, engage, and support key accounts in the sector, working closely with the Regional Sales Team, Application Teams and Product Management teams, to drive profitable growth across the sector. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing strategies, market plans, and brand awareness initiatives, in close collaboration with the Regional Sales Team, for development PD monitoring business. The position will be based in our OMICRON Service Centre in Hong Kong or Singapore, reporting to the Regional Manager, Asia.

Your responsibilities

  • You will acquire new customers and will develop new markets for our OMICRON PD monitoring solutions
  • You will present our PD monitoring system solutions to customers at trade fairs
  • You will collaborate with the international sales team with a focus on markets we cover directly
  • You will manage and support our sales partner network in selected countries with technical and commercial assistance
  • You will analyze market requirements to further develop our system technology
  • You will analyze tender documents, prepare and follow through on offers
  • You will actively support and prepare Go/No Go decisions during the tendering stage
  • You will take part in international conferences OMICRON marketing events to represent our OMICRON PD monitoring solutions
  • You are flexible and open to international travel, with the potential to spend up to 50% of your work time abroad each year

Your profile

  • You have successfully completed a higher education in engineering (FH, University)
  • You have a background in electrical engineering with focus on high voltage engineering
  • You have 5-8 years of experience in sales with focus on system solutions in a project business context
  • You have international sales experience including contract management, public tendering processes and project management
  • You are able to communicate on different levels with commercial decision makers and technical experts
  • You have excellent presentation skills
  • You are able to work self-contained and used to work in a team
  • You have strong interpersonal and social skills
  • You have strong English communication skills; additional languages (e.g., Chinese, Korean or Japanese) are a plus
  • You are willing to relocate to Hong Kong or Singapore

We're looking for a passionate salesperson with 2+ years of experience who is ready to take their career to the next level. You don’t need to have all the technical know-how—we’ll provide comprehensive training to help you become an expert. If you bring the sales experience and an appetite to learn, we’ll give you the tools to succeed.

This is your chance to develop your skills and grow with a company that values ambition and a positive attitude. As our new Technical Sales and Business Development Manager your mission will be to grow lubricant sales across your region and customer portfolio. You will seek out new opportunities from customers and collaborate closely with Key Account Managers, Account Managers and Customer Service.

What you will work on:

  • Drive and grow profitable sales by building strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Identify target clients, execute face-to-face meetings, and lead a best-practice approach to selling
  • Use your technical expertise to lead impactful sales activities, focusing on the most promising opportunities and customers.
  • Keep CRM data current to accurately reflect opportunities and sales progression.
  • Act as a technical leader on lubricants, setting the standard in knowledge and customer-facing expertise.
  • Work with product management to provide performance insights and recommend product improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop impactful sales materials and present WSS products at industry events.
  • Embody a "can-do" attitude, inspiring the sales team to pursue growth and close deals confidently.
What you need to succeed in the role:

  • 2+ years of sales experience with exposure to the maritime industry being an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the marine lubricants industry is beneficial, but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and develop expertise in this area is key.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with diverse audiences in a multinational environment.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and spoken skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and a team player who thrives in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and strengthen the brand, able to drive sales revenue as well as to build brand equity to meet the budgeted objectives
  • Market trend analysis, retail sales strategies management
  • Manage business in terms of sales productivity and brand performance
  • Comprehensive knowledge with product development and package design
  • Develop, execute and monitor brand's marketing activities
  • Monitor and improve P&L performance of the brand, and effective inventory control

Requirements

  • Diploma / University graduate in product development or related discipline
  • 3 years of work experience, preferably with exposure in multi-national company
  • Oversea working experienced will be an advantaged
  • Good commend of spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, basic PC knowledge
