Senior Executive Director – Order Management Systems (Equity Technology)

Location: Hong Kong or Singapore

My client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Senior Executive Director to join their Equity Order Management Systems (OMS) Technology team . This leadership position will report directly to the Global Head of Sales, Trading, and Client Connectivity Technology (New York-based), with regional oversight across multiple critical trading systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage regional technology teams (10+ engineers), providing strategic direction and hands-on guidance.
• Oversee multiple core OMS platforms, driving system performance, integration, and scalability.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams to align on platform strategy.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to development efforts where necessary, ensuring best-in-class engineering practices.
• Enhance front-to-back equities trading workflows and support business growth with reliable, high-performance solutions.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within trading technology.
• Strong proficiency in Java (C++ experience beneficial), with the ability to review and contribute to production-quality code.
• Proven experience managing high-availability, distributed trading systems in an equities environment.
• Solid knowledge of equities trading products and front-to-back workflows .
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of operating in a matrixed global environment .
• Experience from investment banks, buy-side firms, or leading crypto-native institutions will be considered.

As the Software Engineering Manager for Ubuntu Gaming, your mission is to help make gaming on Ubuntu first-class. In this exciting time for Linux gaming, compatibility tools like Proton have matured, but a well-rounded gaming experience goes beyond compatibility. It entails maximising performance, robust and secure anti-cheat mechanisms, full device support, and ease of content creation, sharing and discovery. By collaborating with open-source projects and other partners, you'll contribute to not just Ubuntu but the wider Linux gaming ecosystem.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the Americas or EMEA region.

The role entails

• Leading your team in optimising and expanding the Ubuntu gaming experience, focusing on the Steam Snap.
• Managing project timelines, balancing feature improvements with deadlines.

• Conducting keen-eyed code reviews, focusing on quality, performance, and modern design principles.
