Job Description
· Helping to be a catalyst for transformational change within the Investment Research Division.
· Independently organize, lead, run, manage and implement marketing campaigns.
· Conceive, drive, and execute marketing ideas to increase client awareness and the content they produce.
· Help drive the launch of a new video department to provide an additional channel to disseminate content.
· Edit a variety of video content, including corporate communications, social media videos, presentations, and potentially training materials, ensuring high-quality and engaging narratives.
· Assemble raw footage into polished video sequences, applying creative editing techniques, seamless transitions, and incorporating relevant branding elements.
· Create and implement engaging motion graphics and visual effects to enhance the impact and clarity of video content using Adobe After Effects.
· Integrate and refine audio elements, including music, sound effects, and voiceovers, to achieve a professional and impactful sound design.
· Perform color correction and grading to ensure visual consistency and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the videos.
· Manage and organize video assets effectively, maintaining a clear and accessible library of footage, graphics, and audio files.
· Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in video editing, motion graphics, and digital content creation, particularly within the finance industry.
· Troubleshoot technical issues related to video production and post-production workflows.
**Qualifications:**
· Proven experience as a Video Editor, with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in editing corporate videos and social media content.
· 1-15 years of relevant experience in driving marketing campaigns, editing videos, content creation.
· Experience working with or creating content for the finance sector will be preferred.
· Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
· Basic understanding of other popular tools.
· Solid understanding and practical experience with motion graphics principles and techniques.
· Good exposure to and understanding of sound design principles and basic audio editing.
· Experience with color correction and grading techniques to enhance visual quality.
· Familiarity with video codecs, formats, and optimization for various online platforms.
· A strong understanding of visual storytelling and the ability to translate complex information into engaging video content.
· Excellent attention to detail, a strong visual sense, and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
· Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills.

The School of Film and Television offers major studies in Cinematography, Directing, Editing, Sound Design, Screenwriting, Digital Screen Design and Creative Producing. It is equipped with high level traditional film cameras and a wide range of high-definition (HD) video cameras, professional camera support equipment, digital sound recording systems and digital post-production facilities for picture and sound editing, immersive sound mixing, visual effects design and colour correction. The School houses teaching, screening and production facilities at two campuses. A multi-cam studio called the Screen Production and Research Centre (SPaRC) provides a location for emerging screen practices and interdisciplinary projects.
The postholder will be responsible to the Dean of the School of Film and Television. The postholder will be in charge of designing and delivering innovative courses that cover a wide range of topics in Film Technology, Screen Production, and Virtual Production, including advanced workflows utilizing LED walls, real-time rendering, and virtual camera systems. In addition to teaching, the post-holder will supervise student production projects, offering expert guidance on the latest tools such as Unreal Engine and camera tracking systems to enhance our students' practical skills in virtual production setups. The role necessitates collaboration with other departments, alumni, and industry professionals to create valuable learning experiences and foster partnerships for local and international projects. Furthermore, the Lecturer will contribute to the School’s research initiatives and creative outputs alongside engaging in academic service through participation in committees, curriculum development, and outreach events. Other responsibilities will be assigned by the Dean to support the academic mission of the institution. This position offers a unique opportunity for a passionate educator to shape the future of film technology education and contribute to the evolving landscape of virtual production.
Applicants should:
(a) Possess a relevant MFA/BFA degree or professional training/experience to an equivalent level.
(b) Normally, have at least four years’ teaching experience at higher education level.
(c) Present examples of original works in a screen context/multimedia/creative industry.
(d) Demonstrate significant experience in advanced film cinematography and lighting technology or virtual production.
(e) Have rich experience in various types of studio shooting projects in film and channel industry.
(f) Be responsible, reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently and be a good team player.
(g) Have excellent communication skills and innovative mindset.
(h) A good command of spoken and written in both English and Chinese.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
Appointment will be on a two-year renewable contract, subject to performance and mutual agreement. A gratuity payment equals up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period, may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the full contract. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Academy’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance, that equals 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits. The starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Subject to negotiation, the expected commencement date will be September 2025.
