The role will provide support to the FICC business division internationally across various CLSA entities in Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, UK and US, as FICC operates in many different regulatory jurisdictions.
The person will be working independently to open accounts and onboard new relationships based on CITIC CLSA’s required standards and policies. These relationships may range across sell-side clients, buy-side trading counterparties, brokers, vendors and regulated trading venue operators.
The role is also responsible for ensuring all counterparty and client related documentation review and collection at inception of the relationships introduced by FICC are properly executed in accordance with CITIC CLSA’s required standards. The person will be working closely with KYC Operations team to approve periodic reviews, refresh of documents for existing relationships and conduct any potential remediation work as a result of internal/external audit and regulatory inspections.
The position is located in Hong Kong where the person is an integral part of the FICC front office operation.
The Analyst role will be expected to have onboarding experience in cash securities trading accounts such as bonds, convertible bonds, funds and/or repo accounts.
The Associate role will be expected to have onboarding experience for FX and Rates Derivative counterparties and must have familiarity with FX agreements, F&O, OTC clear and non-clear derivatives onboarding experience. Candidate with eFX onboarding experience will be highly favoured.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Follow CITIC CLSA’s standards and requirements in dealing with FICC introduced new relationships for account opening and onboarding to trade as well as complete all required documentation for execution for setup into CITIC CLSA’s front to back systems for trading and settlement.
- Guide Sales and Traders during the account opening and onboarding process on the requirements, as each case may differ given the counterparty’s investor status and the jurisdiction(s) involved to define the risk-based rating for the prospect.
- Upkeep CITIC CLSA’s central account workflow system, GoldTier with the correct constitutional and authority documents at inception and on an ongoing basis with KYC Operations for periodic review, account remediation and documentation refresh work.
- Be able to identify exceptions from CITIC CLSA policies and standards for further clearance from FICC Business Management and AML Compliance Head.
- Support inquiries related to audit and regulatory inspections of FICC and other directives from AML compliance.
- Maintain and upkeep of counterparty/client signatories and authority to trade documentation to facilitate for setup onto FICC’s electronic trading venues and for CITIC CLSA to undertake in any manual signatory execution requirement with the counterparty/client.
- Support all systems counterparty/client administration setup for new clients are in place prior to trading and ongoing amendments and changes to be properly reflected in the system prior to trading under new setup.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of international markets’ AML & KYC requirements, preferably at least 3 years of direct experience with a financial institution that operates in multiple jurisdictions will be considered for the Associate role, those with less experience may be considered for an Analyst role.
- Direct experience in independently dealing with account opening workflow system in a global financial institution preferred and familiarity with the various steps in achieving full compliance to deal with account opening using the international AML risk-based approach to define a counterparty’s risk rating will be preferred.
- Ability to explain FICC markets’ pre-trade process (e.g. DvP cash, ISDA CSA setup & GMRA setup, eFX onboarding requirements) to handhold Sales, Traders and Clients through the account opening process for onboarding will be a major plus.
- Familiarity of trading agreements used in the international FICC markets, eFX agreements, CDEA for OTC derivatives, ISDA, GMRA, VM/IM CSA and their downstream operational impacts. Associate level must have hands on experience in this area.
- Good prioritization, organisational and multi-tasking skills
- Self-motivated, desire to be challenged and eager to learn.
- Knowledge of SFC requirements around Hong Kong Professional Investors desirable
- Attention to detail and process oriented
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- At least an undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law or of a similar nature.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) are a must-have. Fluency in English a must due to constant review of constitutional and authority documents as well as regulatory rules, Business Mandarin/Cantonese is desirable but not mandatory.

+ Interact with existing clients to strengthen relationships by understanding their investment needs and servicing them accordingly.

+ Build expertise by monitoring the markets and regulatory environment to proactively identify trends; anticipate and communicate opportunities and risks to internal stakeholders
**Required Qualifications:**
+ At least 5-8 years of overall experience in areas of client servicing and relationship management (Experience with a focus on servicing private market clients would be an advantage)
+ Experience in client facing activities, such as cross-selling and regular contact with clients in order to understand their investment needs
+ Good understanding of Asian (in particular Korean) institutional clients' requirements
+ Good organizational skills; demonstrated history of being results-oriented, ability to multitask and prioritize, keen attention to detail
+ Ability to work collaboratively with internal departments across global offices.
+ Good knowledge of public market as well as private markets asset classes (includes but not limited to private equity and credit, infrastructure, real estate equity and debt, timberland and farmland).
+ Experience in handling clients onboarding (Experience in handling private market client onboarding and have the ability to navigate and interpret private funds documentation would be an advantage)
+ Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; willingness to engage with multiple stakeholders.
+ Fluent in English and Korean. Strong written communication skills in English and Korean. Ability to write clearly and concisely in client communications and explain complex concepts to clients
+ University degree with CFA designation is an asset.
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Candidates with more experience especially in private markets would be considered for an Associate Director position.

Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Guide internal stakeholders in identifying and documenting the information required to satisfy the Bank’s Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence policies and processes
- Execute and review negative media alerts, and performs sanction & Political exposed person screening
- Check/identify for discrepancies between the information held in the customer’s documentation and profile on the system
- Review and validate the quality of the due diligence and KYC information on the bank’s customers, in line with HSBC policies at on boarding and periodic reviews
- Work with the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Advisor when additional guidance on CDD policy is required

- Make considered decisions with factual and coherent recommendations, benefits and implications

To be successful you will need

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Client Lifecycle Management Analyst.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
- Guide internal stakeholders in identifying and documenting the information required to satisfy the Bank’s Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence policies and processes
- Execute and review negative media alerts, and performs sanction & Political exposed person screening
- Check/identify for discrepancies between the information held in the customer’s documentation and profile on the system
- Review and validate the quality of the due diligence and KYC information on the bank’s customers, in line with HSBC policies at on boarding and periodic reviews
- Work with the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Advisor when additional guidance on CDD policy is required
- Drive sustainable growth. Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve efficiency in the workflow
- Make considered decisions with factual and coherent recommendations, benefits and implications
- Keep colleagues and stakeholders informed, and take accountability for following through on outstanding issues raised within the Client Lifecycle
- Management (CLM) team to ensure prompt and efficient delivery of service
To be successful you will need
- Strong working knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), regulatory compliance and controls within the banking and financial services industry
- To understand the connection between the financial services industry, the regulatory environment and their business function, and assists in passing on their practical knowledge to their colleagues
- Strong teamwork initiative
- Ability to work professionally with all levels of staff and management
- Strong English fluency and written skills
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience

Capital Market Middle Office team in HK is around 40 staffs and 6 sub-teams:
- MO Sales and Collateral, Client Services: In charge of deals originated by Sales including Trade validation, allocations, MTM reporting and collateral management
- MO IRD/ EIS: In charge of Interest Rate and Equity Derivatives.
- MO FX/MM/ Credit: In charge of Foreign Exchange, Money Market and Credits
- MO Post Trade: In charge of the processing activities from FO systems to BO systems
- MO Reconciliation: In charge of the various reconciliation (FO-BO; FO-FO,…)
- MDA: In charge of Market Data activities
This role is within the Capital Markets Middle Office Collateral and Client reporting teams supporting the Global Markets business.
Key Responsibilities
- Collateral and MTM client Management: Manage the Margin calls; Notification, confirmation and settlement; Reconciliation and disputes
- Follow-up on unusual counterparties behaviour and margin call discrepancies
- Contracts setup and liaison with the various teams involved, setup in the systems
- Co-ordinate with Front Office, Risk and other concerned departments to setup client desk and issue Mark-to-Market statements to clients
- Perform daily controls
- Assist the Line manager in supervising the day-to-day activities
- Follow-up on query from clients
- Assist in system enhancement, UAT testing, New product onboarding for Collateral mgt process.
- Handle Audit confirmation for capital market transactions booked in HK
- Participation in the drafting and/or updating of operational procedures.
- Manage operational risk with a duty to alert Management.
QUALIFICATION
- Degree preferably in a Finance, Mathematics or Engineering
- Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in Collateral Management, MTM reporting activities
- Experience in Collateral Management, MTM Client reporting is must
- Good analytical, organizational and interpersonal skill
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to details and a self-starter who is highly motivated.
- Good judgement, alertness and common sense
- Good knowledge of financial products and understanding of the operational risks involved in OTC Derivatives, Repo’s, MTM, Collateral management process
- Good understanding in financial products and the operational risks involved in FIM products
- market knowledge
- Versatile with PC tools and applications, e.g. MS Office, VBA
- Fluency in English. Proficient in French or other Asian languages a definite advantage

1. Monitor the entire client onboarding procedure with good awareness of the KYC, legal, credit and compliance requirements, validate account opening work flow and ensure quality of the process is within the efficiency standards;
2. Handle various client checks including KYC, AML, and World Check in coordination with the Compliance and Control team; review and resolve name screening alerts generation of new clients from World-Check; Perform on-going due diligence on existing clients;
3. Provide assistance to standardize and optimize the account opening and account maintenance processes, work closely with other related teams to improve the account management automation projects;
4. Assist with ad hoc projects and client support works when required.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Business or related discipline;
2. Qualified with a Type 1 license under the SFC is preferred;
3. 1-3 years of relevant experience in within brokerage or financial services;
4. Prior working experience relating to client onboarding, customer service, operation or data management;
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated, responsible and fast paced work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
6. Good command of English and Chinese, must be able to read and written Chinese;
7. KYC/ AML experience is an advantage.
