About the RoleAs an experienced Senior Architect in Artelia Airports Hong Kong office, with your experience in either hospitality (Hotel, F&B, Luxury Retail) or large-scale public buildings (TOD) in HK and overseas you will join a startup environment within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers and architects. The position requires strong design skills and project management skills to imagine and realize innovative projects from concept stages to design development. You will report either to the Hong Kong office Lead architect or the project’s Project Manager or Project Director on various aspects of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Manage teams of architects depending on the projects, manage contribution from other Artelia teams (Paris, Dubai), manage sub consultants' work (architects, model makers, rendering companies, …) and collaborate with partners' work (architects, engineers, …).
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior architects and designers.
- Preparation of deliverables (3D, 2D, mock-ups and visualization, renderings).
- Developing, modifying, and reviewing production on projects.
- Supervise & coordinate the works with consultants, architects, interior designers, engineers to develop and refine design solutions.
- Lead design reviews, conduct research to resolve design problems and parameters, value engineering, and problem-solving to optimize project outcomes.
- Conduct meetings with clients, vendors & other stakeholders as per project requirement.
- Obtain approval from Clients, Local consultants & organize submission.
- Ensure that all design submission can fulfill the Contracts, Client’s requirements, Compliance (industry standards, building regulations & sustainability practices) ensuring budget and time schedule alignment.
- Within the framework of the tasks assigned, travel abroad is required to meet Clients and Partners and to supervise sub consultant’s work.
- Preparation of commercial bids and client’s solicitation is expected.
- Minimum 8 years’ professional experience with minimum 5-7 years in large scale projects (either Hotel, F&B, Luxury Retail or TOD), design development & team management; airport projects experience appreciated.
- Degree/Higher Diploma in Architecture, internationally recognized university/school (bachelor or master).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage project teams.
- Self-motivated, Independent and with Strong design abilities & sensibilities, including development of design concepts.
- Experience in resolving design related issues alongside various stakeholders and consultants independently.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is a must (Revit, BIM modelling software is a plus).
- 3-D computer modelling skills (Rhinoceros is a must, Grasshopper is a plus).
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Hand sketching ability is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese; additional languages are a plus.
- Applicants with less experience may be considered as Architects.
