Pacific Basin is one of the world’s leading owners and operators of modern Handysize and Supramax dry bulk ships. Our team comprises about 4,600 seafarers and over 400 shore staff in 14 key locations around the world.

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Digital Product Owner to lead the delivery of digital initiatives that drive operational efficiency and innovation. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in agile project management and software implementation, who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Function as Product Owner for Pacific Basin’s internally developed platform.
  • Fully own and manage the end-to-end delivery of digital projects—from running discovery phases and gathering requirements to project management, implementation, support processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to ensure successful execution.
  • Conduct user research to ensure the product meets user expectations.
  • Work closely with the Data Team and Development Team to support project deliverables and digital roadmap execution.
  • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards, ensuring all deliverables meet expectations.
  • Define and measure KPIs to assess project success and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with Super Users, Steering Committees, Business Owners as well as technical stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Support additional digitalization initiatives and projects as assigned.

Skills Capabilities Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Project management certification is required (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or Agile Certified Practitioner).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management of software implementation or similar.
  • Proven experience in digital product ownership and agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience working with multi-functional and multi-location teams.
  • Background in shipping is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps is an advantage.
  • A proactive, service-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives for ongoing enhancement of ITSM maturity, utilising feedback, data, and industry best practices to refine processes and drive excellence


The Job

You will:

About You

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • At least 15 years of work experience in the IT industry with 7+ years of experience in IT Service Management or observability solutions across distributed systems, with a strong focus on architecture and integration
  • Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders to drive ITSM improvements
  • Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Proven project and supplier relationship management experience
  • In-depth understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices in ITSM
  • Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies related to IT operations and service management
  • Proven track record of successfully leading ITSM initiatives and implementing SRE and AIOps practices in enterprise environments
  • Preferably possess PMP, ITIL certifications
  • Proficiency in ITSM tools such as BMC Remedy or Helix, ServiceNow or Jira Service Management, including configuration and customization
  • Extensive knowledge of AIOps platforms and SRE methodologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure), including their integration with ITSM processes
  • Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools to enhance software delivery and operational efficiency
