Role Overview
As the Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing the technical architecture of our agentic AI & digital human solutions, which are deployed across kiosks, web, and mobile applications. You will be critical in shaping the engineering roadmap and working closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, DevOps, and AI, to deliver scalable and secure solutions.

Role Overview
As the Solution Architect, you will be responsible for designing the technical architecture of our agentic AI & digital human solutions, which are deployed across kiosks, web, and mobile applications. You will be critical in shaping the engineering roadmap and working closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, DevOps, and AI, to deliver scalable and secure solutions.
You will act as both a hands-on architect and a strategic leader, ensuring that our engineering organization is aligned with business objectives as we launch innovative products worldwide. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding the team through the complexities of digital solution deployments.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
Technical Architecture & AI/Cloud Innovation

• Design end-to-end architectures for agentic AI & digital human solutions, integrating generative AI (e.g. LLM, computer vision), cloud-native services (AWS/Azure), and DevOps pipelines.
• Define technical standards for scalability (e.g., multi-region/large-scale/ high-availability deployments), security (zero-trust frameworks), and cost optimization.
• Lead POCs for emerging tools (e.g., LLM fine-tuning, edge AI for kiosks) to drive innovation.
  

Engineering Roadmap

• Assist Senior Management to set the engineering roadmap, balancing technical debt, innovation, and market demands.
• Work closely with software, DevOps, and AI teams to ensure alignment on priorities (e.g., launching a new product in APAC).
• Finalize a unified cloud architecture (AWS + Azure) supporting AI model deployment across 3 regions and reduce cloud costs while scaling AI workloads.
  

Cross-Functional Governance

• Act as the “glue” between AI researchers, DevOps engineers, and product/ project managers to resolve bottlenecks (e.g., latency in real-time AI inference).
• Govern cloud infrastructure spend (AWS/Azure) and enforce IaC best practices (Terraform).
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for seamless, automated deployments.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage orchestration with Kubernetes and ArgoCD, supporting large-scale, high-availability deployments (50+ container environments
• Ensure compliance with regional regulations (e.g., GDPR for EU deployments, data residency in new markets).
  

Scaling for Growth

• Architect solutions that scale across regions (e.g., hybrid cloud setups for low-latency kiosk interactions).
• Design team structures and processes (Agile/DevOps) to support rapid product launches.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years in software/cloud engineering, 3+ years as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
• Expertise in AWS/Azure (multi-account strategies, Kubernetes clusters, serverless architectures).
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML deployment (model serving, MLOps, GPU optimization).
• Able to translate business goals into technical execution (e.g., reducing cloud costs by 30% while scaling AI workloads).
• Certifications: AWS/Azure Solutions Architect Pro, Kubernetes, or AI/ML certifications.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Immediately available is highly preferable.

Job Description

As a Sales Engineer, you will work with technical team to deliver tailored digital solutions to clients in the construction and public sector. Role Overview

As the Head of GenAI Innovation, you will design and implement innovative AI solutions tailored to the investment management sector. Your primary focus will be on streamlining operations, enhancing customer interactions, and ensuring timely responses through advanced GenAI applications. You will also play a critical role in building a robust data platform to enable ongoing GenAI innovation within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Innovative Solutions : Create AI-driven solutions that adapt to the unique needs of the investment management business.
• Streamline Operations : Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and implement GenAI tools to optimize operational processes.
• Enhance Customer Interaction : Develop strategies to leverage GenAI for improving client engagement and satisfaction.
• Data Platform Development : Collaborate with IT and data teams to build a data platform that supports GenAI initiatives and innovations.
• Strategic Leadership : Lead a team of data scientists and AI specialists to drive GenAI projects from conception to execution.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with senior management and stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

• Experience : Minimum of 10 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in AI and GenAI innovation that has significantly impacted organizational performance.
• Consulting Experience : At least 1 year of experience in a consulting firm, with a strong understanding of strategic implementation.
• Investment Management Background : A minimum of 2 years in investment management, asset management, hedge funds, or mutual funds environments.
• Technical Expertise : Deep understanding of AI methodologies, data analytics, machine learning, and GenAI technologies.
• Leadership Skills : Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Proficient in Python and familiar with advanced machine learning and large language model frameworks (like TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.).
• Strong grasp of agentic AI concepts and frameworks, including agentic design patterns, multi-agent systems, and reinforcement learning, especially in healthcare applications.
• Hands-on experience in fine-tuning large language models , including practical knowledge of DeepSpeed.
• Track record of delivering production-ready code while following best software engineering practices.
• Experience with containerization technologies and CI/CD processes, as well as both front-end and back-end development for web applications.

**Introduction**
IBM Client Engineering - AI Engineers contribute to the co-creation of Proofs of Value (PoV) and Minimal Viable Product that demonstrate business value, leading to client investment in AI strategic solutions using Foundation Models. AI Engineers will engage in developing and deploying AI systems to solve real-world business problems in a wide array of industries around the globe using IBM watsonx platform. AI Engineers cover all stages of the AI solution lifecycle from Data Engineering to Train, Validate, Tune, Deploy, AI Operations, and AI Governance to create a trusted end-to-end AI solution.
**Your role and responsibilities**
You will have below role focus in order to become a successful AI Engineer in Client Engineering team.
* Technical Expertise
* Creating and managing the AI development.
* Define strategies and plan for development on production infrastructure.
* Fine-Tune, Deploy and Operate Foundation Models.
* Optimizing AI infrastructure to drive measurable business value for customers.
* Building AI models from scratch& Fine Tuning pre-trained models and assisting different stakeholders with analysis and implementation.
* Transforming machine learning models into APIs that can be integrated with other applications.
* Collaborating across teams to help with AI adoption and best practices.
* Engagement
* Use prior experience in AI project and domain to gain client trust
* Apply Foundation Models to propose and validate hypotheses for business queries.
* Collaborate with the client to rapidly develop AI solutions using IBM watsonx Platform via a Proof of Experience (PoX).
* Employ Agile methodologies for responsive AI solution development based on client feedback.
* Strategic Innovation
* Utilize the latest IBM AI technical strategies and sales plays to unlock client opportunities, applying skills in AI development, model building, Fine-Tuning and API integration.
* Suggest improvements for data reliability, efficiency, and quality in future projects, using proficiency in programming, big data technologies, and AI frameworks.
* Display a growth mindset and genuine curiosity to grasp clients' business processes and challenges, employing statistical analysis skills to identify transformation opportunities.
* Employ agile methodologies to hasten solution definition and validation, enhancing client outcomes swiftly.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
* Understanding of key concepts in the Foundation Models literature and expertise in building and deploying them for real-world examples.
* Knowledge of cloud technologies and expertise in leveraging them for large-scale AI or FM workloads.
* Ability to identify fundamental problems from real-world cloud use-cases and to design, build and validate successful AI solutions.
* Capability to demonstrate and evaluate AI solutions via experimental methods, particularly through hands-on creation of prototypes.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a local team.
* Excellent command of the English, Mandarin and Cantonese language, both verbal and written.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
* Strong contribution record demonstrated through active participation in open source communities, sharing technical resources and educational content, maintaining influential technical blogs or social media presence, and public evangelism of technology through speaking engagements, workshops and community events.
* Track record in being part of highly collaborative teams to tackle important problems which produce high impact solutions.
* Expertise in Python programming and statistical analysis including experience with advances statistical methods, data modeling and implementing efficient algorithmic solutions.
