How do Analysts / Senior Analysts make an impact?
Analysts will build expertise in consumer goods and services industries by conducting trade dialogue with key industry stakeholders, working with central data sources and engaging in data analysis and market reporting. Their work will contribute directly to Euromonitor's syndicated database - Passport - that informs and guides our clients' strategy across product categories, industries and geographies.

Analysts will be tasked with building expertise across three core areas:

• Direct research and project management to establish market estimates for category sales, brand and company performance, channel distribution, and more
• Creating actionable insights in both published and presentation formats
• Engaging with regional clients and the wider global industry

Key Responsibilities

• Update existing and developing new sections of datasets and reports for Passport industries
• Primary research, in direct and regular contact with key industry players to build data and trends for the purpose of advancing Passport's country level understanding
• Secondary research, to gather published information across a variety of source types such as company financials, official statistics, trade press, brokerage reports, etc
• Work seamlessly with central data teams to provide updated sources, to verify and provide feedback on centrally produced data
• Produce insights-driven content and report writing at the country, regional, and global levels
• Client-facing responsibilities and provide client support, responding to data and content queries, and insight exchange requests, etc
• As expertise develops, key responsibilities will evolve further to include strategic industry analysis, client meetings and presentations, industry presentations and liaison (such as conferences), and other industry related work

Requirements

• At least 2-4 years of proven research track record, proven in gathering primary / secondary input from industry stakeholders
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin to liaise with clients based in Hong Kong and Taiwan
• Ability to synthesize multiple sources of information for data analysis and interpretation

Main Responsibilities

• Lead and support Wealth Management & Financial Markets (e.g. Investments, FX, Derivatives, Structured Products) business initiatives by analysing business needs
• Gather and analyse business requirements from various stakeholders, assist business stakeholders in preparing User Requirement documents, and manage the end-to-end approval process with relevant parties
• Serve as the partner bridging business stakeholders (including Product Managers, Business Teams, Channel Owners, Operations, Risk, Compliance) and technology teams, enabling collaboration to deliver value-driven solutions that align with the Bank's strategic objectives
• Maintain and enhance the knowledge base and business models for Wealth Management & Financial Markets products to support effective business design and analysis
• Contribute to digital transformation within the Wealth Management & Financial Markets domain

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Systems or related disciplines
• Minimum 8 years' relevant experience in business analysis, product/project support in banking/ financial industry
• Strong knowledge of Wealth Management & Financial Markets (e.g. Investments, FX, Derivatives, Structured Products) and related regulatory requirements
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capability

6. Requirements Management: Efficiently elicit, gather, and document comprehensive business requirements for complex projects from all stakeholders. Ensure documentation is precise, accurate, complete, technically feasible, and aligned with business objectives, often leveraging tools like JIRA or Confluence.
7. Project Management Contribution: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to define project scope, formulate plans, manage changes, and conduct impact analyses throughout the project lifecycle. Handle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery with high stakeholder satisfaction.
8. Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage stakeholders at various levels to ensure aligned understanding and expectations. This encompasses requirements, project progress, and deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle.
9. Testing & Quality Assurance: Define test scenarios from a business perspective, identify key test cases, and actively partake in system and user acceptance testing (UAT). Collaborate with testers to efficiently resolve defects, ensuring business requirements are met with high-quality standards; proficient API testing skills are a plus.
10. Design Thinking & User Centricity: Embrace design thinking principles and a user-centric mindset across projects, from requirements elicitation to solution proposals. This helps gain insights into and address business and customer issues and needs effectively.
11. Business Acumen: Possess a robust business mindset and a clear understanding of organizational goals and strategies. Offer insights and recommendations to clients and stakeholders, considering key business drivers to contribute to overall project success.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of work experience in IT/Mobile application development. Exposure in banking, finance, insurance, or retail business industries is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
• Excellent business analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
