Lead and manage a team of onshore and offshore technologist and engineers to design and develop complex systems revamp/projects across a variety of products and technologies. The job duties include driving engineering best practices and technology excellence, vendor management, resource management, stakeholder management, project governance and continuous improvement. It is expected this role will do technical system management, people management, and at times hands on development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of technologists and engineers, vendors to perform requirement analysis, system analysis, design, development, quality assurance activities and implementation of enhancements/projects assigned within schedules in good quality
  • Manage vendors to build, integrate and deliver high-quality business solutions
  • Designs and develops IT solutions including integrated process, applications, data and technology in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standard
  • Ensure system design and system integration for end-to-end IT solutions across different platforms based on business requirements and IT strategies
  • Liaise with internal users and external vendors for project & production systems support activities
  • Ensure auditory and regulatory compliance
  • Promote team sharing and continuous learning culture
  • Manage staff, which includes performance reviews and career planning
  • Lead team to adhere Agile methodology and DevOps process
  • Drive engineering best practices and technical excellence
  • Drive delivery velocity and cost efficiency
  • Share knowledge, build central knowledge repository and continuous learning

Qualifications, Training and Experience

  • University degree in software engineering, information technology or computer science
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience with 4 years relevant experience in team leadership role
  • Strong people management, resource management and vendor management skills
  • Professional in both architecture design and implementation-level software design
  • Broad exposure to wide range of technologies, eg. (Microsoft.Net, C#, MVC, Azure Cloud, SiteCore, Crystal Report, Power BI, API Management, Angular, Azure Synapse, Java, Oracle, PLSQL, SQL Server, MS SQL, Unix Linux, Client Server, Web based, NodeJS, VueJS, ReactJS, Springboot, NextJS, Oracle (PL/SQL), MSSQL, RESTful API
  • Demonstrated experience in seeking out new and emerging technologies.
  • Professional in Dynamic CRM on-line service and Microsoft Azure resource services
  • Solid experience with driving continuous integration and delivery of applications using DevOps tools (e.g. MS Azure DevOps)
  • Familiar with Mobile App design and implementation (Desirable)
  • Insurance or health care experience (Desirable)
  • Proven production management experience with strong SLA management, performance management and tuning
  • Experience in managing delivery resources, onshore and offshore, in-house and vendor is preferred
  • Good command in English

  • Experience in working in an Agile manner with Github and JIRA.
  • Writing and implementing, clean, scalable code.

  • Verifying and deploying software systems.
  • Implementing solutions from various back-end web services and databases

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with focus in LifePRO

  • In-depth knowledge Object Oriented Programming and Service Oriented Architecture

We are looking for a skilled software developer to join our experienced core application development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, modifying, and implementing mainly on our core application. Your duties will include liaising with the development managers, writing clean, scalable code, creating testing protocols, fixing bugs, and deploying programs. To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of LifePRO, both on functionality and back-end framework. Programming languages which you should be competent are COBOL, C#.NET and REST web services.
Responsibilities

  • Maintains, configures, tunes, and administrate the LifePRO application to ensure application integrity and reliability.
  • Experience in working in an Agile manner with Github and JIRA.
  • Writing and implementing, clean, scalable code.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging code.
  • Verifying and deploying software systems.
  • Implementing solutions from various back-end web services and databases
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with focus in LifePRO
  • Knowledge of software systems and frameworks including C#.NET, COBOL, GitHub, and SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge Object Oriented Programming and Service Oriented Architecture
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually on a project.
  • Proven problem-solving ability and demonstrated ability to think “outside-the-box”.

The Department

The Department of Application Delivery & Support leads the end-to-end management and delivery of all Omni Channel experiences for the Jockey Club. It oversees a diverse team of technical professionals across Hong Kong and Shenzhen, collaborating closely with both global and local software partners. The department plays a vital role in delivering innovative and seamless digital experiences, while supporting the Club’s strategic objectives through robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Customer & Member Digital: Omni channel retail and digital experience
  • Sports Wagering: Fixed Odds sports back office, trading, and middleware systems
  • Racing Wagering & Lottery: PMU Horse Racing platform and Mark 6 lottery systems
  • Racing Equine: Stable management, veterinary laboratories, and racing information systems
  • Hospitality & CRM: Venue, table, and recreation management, catering systems, and customer relationship management
  • Data & Analytics
  • Wagering Architecture: Fixed Odds and PMU/Lottery platforms
  • Identity Management: Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) leveraging Ping/ForgeRock
  • Enterprise/Corporate Systems: Including HR, Charity, Finance, and Treasury systems
  • Shenzhen Development Centre


The Job

You will:

  • Perform system design, development (including customisation, interfaces, conversion and reporting), development testing and software release
  • Lead a team of software engineers, Shenzhen development teams' resources and external resources to accomplish development tasks as defined in the PDLC under the supervision of project managers/development manager
  • Work with the architecture/infrastructure team to perform technical design and construction
  • Work with business users to document requirements and prepare specifications
  • Conduct design/code review to ensure quality of software deliverables
  • Comply with established standards and processes in delivering deliverables
  • Provide support during the system assurance test and user acceptance test
  • Assist the IT operations team in performing software installation and implementation
  • Provide BAU application support under the direction of the technical/portfolio manager
  • Resolve production problems and provide timely management updates
  • Execute technology refreshes on applications to ensure compliance with technology standards and mitigate application de-support risks
  • Act as project manager for small-and medium-sized projects as assigned by the technical/portfolio manager
  • Create and foster a diverse and inclusive culture built on trust and respect to attract, develop, and retain talent. Serve as a role model to support cross-team/division/department efforts and model collaborative behaviours. Inspire the team to bring forward ideas and solutions to empower the people to accelerate business success


About You

You should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in software development, system integration, leading teams of developers locally and remotely to implement IT projects, and providing system support
  • Proven experience in implementing integrations between SuccessFactors and other systems using technologies, including but not limited to SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)
  • Proven experience in supporting SAP SuccessFactors HR modules, including Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, Learning, Onboarding, Compensation and Talent Management modules, would be an advantage
  • Preferably with hands-on experience in SAP SuccessFactors package-based solution implementation and participation in the end-to-end project lifecycle
  • Experience in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
  • Experience in database design, development, and management, particularly with SQL
  • Experience in vendor management and building strong working relationships
  • Excellent analytical mind and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to communicate at all levels within the organisation (IT teams, business users) and external vendors
  • Strong ability in problem troubleshooting and diagnosis
  • Proficiency in writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English, Cantonese and Putonghua
  • Solid experience in SAP Cloud Platform Integration
  • Experience in multiple platforms, including iOS, Android, Web, and API services
  • Familiar with Agile and traditional PDLC methodologies
  • Experience with Atlassian products, especially JIRA & Confluence
  • Experience in CI/CD and DevOps will be an advantage
