Role: Lead Project Subject Matter Expert - Audio Visual Service Engineer

Location: Hong Kong (Kinly operate a hybrid working policy allowing for a mix of office and home working)

Salary: Negotiable (Dependent on experience), plus company benefits

Hours: Monday - Friday; 40 hours a week; a shift-based system between 8am-8pm HKT as per business requirements

We now have a brand new opportunity for a Lead Project Audio Visual Subject Matter Expert / Lead Service Engineer to support the remote commissioning of systems and lead the Project SME team in APAC, serving as the primary technical support contact throughout project delivery.

This role combines hands-on support with leadership, ensuring efficient task management and fostering strong partnerships with Project Managers and clients' technical teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Guide a team of Project SMEs in APAC, supporting technical tasks assigned by Project Managers.
  • Mentor and train team members, promoting skills growth and technical knowledge through regular training sessions.
  • Lead team meetings and knowledge-sharing sessions, aligning the team with best practices, global standards, and processes.
  • Organize work shifts to support projects globally, balancing workload effectively.
  • Act as the primary commissioning contact, ensuring systems are installed according to strict guidelines and within specified timeframes.
  • Accurately capture and enter asset information into the online platform provided internally or by the client.
  • Configure systems including QCS, APC, Crestron, and network devices.
  • Upload programs for Crestron, QSC, and AV devices.
  • Provide in-depth remote troubleshooting and advanced fault finding.
  • Support Project Managers in delivering projects within the project timeline.
  • Communicate with local and global teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to gain technical knowledge for successful project delivery.
  • Regularly meet with the global team to share knowledge and plan resources.


Skills and experience:

  • Proven ability to manage and mentor technical teams, focusing on performance improvement.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical details to team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of Modern Workspace Technologies, with an emphasis on Microsoft Teams Rooms and Cisco Webex.
  • Possess sufficient knowledge of CMD and PowerShell.
  • Networking knowledge to fault find audio and video conference networks. e.g. Dante audio and Multicast video streams
  • Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from major brands.
  • Understanding of Network Concepts & Protocols.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Teams & Teams Rooms, and Microsoft Pro Portal.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in IP technologies and support or service desk environments.
  • Up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace, including products and trends.
  • Ability to read and work with schematic drawings.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work as part of a global team and independently.
  • Ability to multitask, work proactively, and enhance quality continuously.

We are seeking a talented Voice Recording Engineer to support a leading Financial Services firm. In

this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing voice recording systems in the Asia Pacific region to ensure smooth operations and user support.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality voice recording services, focusing on operational excellence and project delivery.
  • Ensure the availability and reliability of voice recording technology and systems.
  • Monitor and manage voice infrastructure, performing regular checks to maintain readiness for business.
  • Provide technical support for various voice systems, including IPC, Cisco, and MS Teams.
  • Manage and troubleshoot voice recording systems, including NICE and Verint solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-regional teams to resolve technical issues and share best practices.
  • Prepare and present operational reports to management, highlighting system performance and metrics.
  • Adhere to internal controls and compliance regulations, ensuring timely project completion.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in voice engineering or trading voice support.
  • Proficient in voice recording technologies, particularly NICE and Verint.
  • Strong understanding of Cisco Telephony systems, including infrastructure design concepts.
  • Familiarity with voice communication solutions such as IPC and MS Teams.
  • Experience with Windows servers and a solid grasp of network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations in the financial sector is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement is desirable.

The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.

It is applied across six core areas: Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1500 technologies to industries and been granted more than 1100 patents in Mainland China, the US, and other countries.

Job Responsibilities

- Support R&D projects.
- Conduct research on speech signal processing and intelligent human-machine interaction.
- Design and optimize machine learning frameworks for end-to-end speech recognition.
- Optimize cloud services or offline inference of transformer-based AI models.
- Deploy AI services on Linux with Docker.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with end-to-end model training.

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
- 3+ years experience in speech signal processing, end-to-end AI models, and machine learning frameworks such as WeNet, Kaldi, K2-fsa, Transformer, OpenAI/Whisper, etc. Candidates with less experience may also be considered.
- Knowledge of Python, Java, C/C++, C# is a plus.
- Good command of English and Chinese; Cantonese preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams.
- Alignment with ASTRI values.

The position offers a renewable contract with a competitive salary, performance-linked variable pay, and benefits including paid leave, medical insurance, and MPF contribution. Normal workweek is five days.
