Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related field. A higher degree or ongoing studies in Biology is preferred.
• Proven experience in teaching or tutoring Biology, preferably in the context of HKDSE preparation.
• In-depth knowledge of the HKDSE Biology curriculum, including key concepts, examination requirements, and marking scheme.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
• Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in helping students succeed.
• Patience, adaptability, and the ability to build rapport with students of different learning styles.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a professional tutoring environment.
• Fluency in English and Cantonese. Proficiency in written Chinese is an advantage.

Schedule and Compensation:

• The tutoring sessions will be held on weekday evenings and/or weekends, based on the availability of the tutor and students.
• The exact number of hours per week will depend on the tutor's availability and the demand for tutoring sessions.
• Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Your expertise and passion will support high-impact projects. You are expected to make major scientific laboratory-based contributions to the research goals in cryobiology and cryopreservation of bio-matters.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Execute scientific studies to support the cryobiology of primary cells and tissues for in vitro analysis.
• Recombinant production and purification of proteins using different E. Coli systems
• Perform in vitro plate reader-based assays such as viability assays, microscopy, etc.
• Perform mammalian/insect cell culture tasks, including thawing and passaging cells, changing media, counting cells, and collecting samples.
• Drive key program milestones and direction by analyzing data, interpreting results, and presenting information through experimental reports and presentations.
• Align production approaches with scale-up and manufacturing teams to support the development and optimization
• Maintain clear and rigorous experimental records, including laboratory notebooks and batch records.
• Follow SOPs and proactively investigate and improve existing methods and techniques.
• Support activities within the R&D groups, including analysis, assay development, scientific literature review, and others.

WHO YOU ARE

• Education: BSc. in cryobiology, cell biology, biochemistry, or a similar discipline, with more than 1 year of hands-on experience.
• Cell Culture Experience: Experience with stem cells, primary cells, 3D, spheroid, or organoid is preferred.
• Detail-Oriented: You have outstanding attention to detail and experimental and process rigour. You take pride in your work and strive for excellence.
• Intellectually Curious: You are passionate about cryobiology and aren't afraid to ask questions and search for answers.
