Production Planning & Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

The Production Planning and Procurement Specialist is responsible for coordinating production schedules, ensuring material availability, and managing procurement activities to meet production demands efficiently. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, logistics, suppliers) to optimize inventory levels, reduce lead times, and minimize costs while maintaining quality standards. The role guarantees timely processing of production orders, material availability, and sourcing of goods and services in line with company goals and cost-efficiency standards.

Operating under the guidance of the Global Operation Director, the specialist monitors production progress, manages supplier relationships, negotiates procurement terms, and supports the development of a reliable supply base. The role acts as a strategic link between planning, production, and purchasing functions, contributing to continuous improvement and service excellence for internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules based on demand forecasts, capacity planning, and material availability.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to meet deadlines. Ensures activities are carried out to implement the semi-finished product production process (films), as scheduled, from production launch to warehouse entry.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure smooth operations.
  • Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for Sampling needs.

Procurement & Inventory Management:

  • Source, negotiate, and procure raw materials, components, and services from suppliers.
  • Proactively identifies and contacts suppliers; conducts negotiations with them, in agreement with the Global Supply Chain Director, to secure the best price, quality, and service conditions.
  • Collaborates with R&D Project Leaders and QC/QA to write technical specifications to be requested from suppliers.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and pricing to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement inventory control measures (e.g., JIT, safety stock) to reduce waste.

Supplier & Vendor Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Resolve supply chain disruptions (e.g., delays, quality issues) proactively.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Track KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory turnover, procurement costs).
  • Generate reports on production efficiency, procurement spend, and supplier performance.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems to manage workflows.

Compliance & Cost Optimization:

  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and regulations.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and process improvements.

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, procurement, or supply chain roles.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management techniques and proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and demand planning tools. Skills in inventory management, production planning, data analysis and report creation.
  • Experience in production scheduling, supplier negotiation, and interdepartmental coordination.
  • Self-initiative, hard-working, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Good command in spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin

Responsibilities:

Ensure the aircraft airframe/component maintenance tasks are well planned in accordance with the maintenance requirements

Preliminary evaluate maintenance work feasibility before handing over the work to Line Maintenance and MRO implementation

Liaise with relevant parties to ensure maintenance and operational requirements are efficiently met

Coordinate with Procurement/Supplier for the key spares' purchase and monitor the movement to support the schedule maintenance.

Basic knowledge to check the technical manuals to support the maintenance.

Collect and analyze the maintenance and operation data for continuous improvement

Perform project management to achieve goals within timeline and budget

Provide support in aircraft acceptance, EIS preparation and planning daily operation

Carry out and optimize components removal plan and monitor the component movement.

Forecast the bi-weekly, monthly component/spare demand and develop the annual implementation plan

Schedule and assign the loose equipment checking and slide deployment

Control and monitor EO/EOCOM to be embodied properly

Prepare Airframe LDND/component reports for CMR application

Perform other projects & duties assigned by superior

Requirements:

At least 5 years or above Engineering / Maintenance or relevant experience

Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, or equivalent

Holder of Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License is preferred

Good team player with strong sense of responsibility, commitment, and attentive to details

Strong in communication and interpersonal skills

Effective decision-making skills and willingness to take responsibility

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

Proficiency in MS Office and Chinese word processing
