The Trade Desks’ Business Development team specialises on finding, building, and growing strategic partnerships with the most innovative advertisers and agencies.

Our role is to identify, form and strengthen relationships through building trust with client partners across a range of different roles and seniority, from CEO’s and Heads of Digital to investment and activation executives. We’re immensely proud of our independence and objectivity in the programmatic ecosystem and our role as consultants and advisors for access to, and success in, the entirety of the premium open internet. We actively listen, meet clients where they are on their digital journey and add value by solving complex problems with simplified solutions. Here at The Trade Desk, we're in search of Business Development Associate Directors who are master relationship builders, strategic consultants and creative problem solvers to join our growing team.

What You’ll Do

  • Establish strategic partnership and frameworks with key advertisers
  • Acquire, build, and cultivate relationships with senior leaders at advertising agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with teams spanning commercial, legal, account management, trading, data and inventory partnerships and TAM to cultivate and grow accounts.
  • Communicate the value of The Trade Desk media buying platform by presenting our core value proposition, and tailor the content to suit the needs of each audience.
  • Establish strategic frameworks to help encourage testing of innovative product releases based on client needs with senior leadership, product, & engineering.
  • Take the lead in responding to RFP’s or new client opportunities, including qualification & win strategy.
  • Prospect and negotiate net new MSAs (partnership contracts) and JBP’s (Joint Business Plans) with key advertisers
  • Coordinate with global counterparts to discover learnings and avoid pitfalls encountered on similar pieces of business.
  • Work closely with product, marketing and revenue teams to constantly optimize efforts relating to company-wide goals.
  • Identify and close strategic up-selling opportunities by understanding core client business needs and translating the value TTD offers.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Accurately manage and communicate monthly forecasts and pipeline.
  • Contribute to The Trade Desk culture by bringing your full self.

Who You Are

  • 8 -10+ years of experience in digital advertising sales, managing senior relationships, ideally within a programmatic environment.
  • Experience with advertising ecosystem; advertisers, online publishers, Ad Network, Ad Exchange, and Agency Dynamics
  • Experience with creating annual business plans and conducting business reviews.
  • An excellent collaborator who can work with individuals in varying teams with differing priorities and coordinate everyone to a singular beneficial goal.
  • Programmatic platform sales experience highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to speak with C-level clients.
  • Ability to deconstruct complex topics and translate them to audiences in a way that’s digestible.
  • Strong quantitative skills and negotiation ability.
  • A passion and curiosity to the programmatic space and a desire to constantly build on industry knowledge.
  • A consistent strive for excellence.
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue expectations.
  • Proficient in English, Cantonese.

The Business Development Director – Asia will be responsible for identifying, acquiring, and nurturing relationships with multinational clients, insurers, and brokers across the region. This is a consultative sales role requiring a deep understanding of the regional (re)insurance landscape, corporate risk management trends, and the ability to tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of clients across Greater China, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts across Asia, with a focus on Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, and other key regional markets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with multinational corporates, insurers, reinsurers, and brokers
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Sedgwick’s strategic goals
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop tailored proposals and respond to RFPs
  • Represent Sedgwick at industry events, conferences, and client meetings across the region
  • Drive revenue growth through cross-selling and upselling across service lines

Experience

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in business development, client relationship management, or strategic sales within the insurance or risk services industry
  • Strong understanding of the Asia-Pacific insurance market, ideally with experience in Hong Kong and other regional hubs
  • Proven success working with multinational clients and navigating complex stakeholder environments

Communication

  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage C-suite executives
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience with RFPs and strategic proposals

Key responsibilities of the role

We are looking for an experienced Sales Director in Hong Kong to develop and grow our portfolio in Hong Kong as we continue to rapidly grow across global markets and expand our enterprise presence in the APAC region. The role will require the individual to build and grow corporate accounts across Hong Kong. The person must have a strong understanding of the leadership & talent development landscape in the region. They should have experience delivering over 1-2m/year in sales and must be well networked across HR and L&D professionals

Key Skills and Experience

  • Over 12 years of corporate sales (B2B sales), with a background in Executive Education or HR/L&D Consulting or practice with minimum US 1-2m/year in sales contributed as an individual.
  • Strong understanding of how to approach, position talent & leadership development conversations with CHROs, L&D & HR professionals as well as Business/C-suite.
  • Well networked and connected across the L&D/CLO and HR/CHRO fraternity.
  • Tenured relationships across leading companies local, MNCs and Public / Government sector.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – adept at developing, pitching and closing large deals. Gravitas to pitch to CXOs, CHROs, CLOs/L&D Heads.
  • Ability to develop and position winning proposals to corporate clients.
  • Experience and working knowledge of CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing & positioning across the region to help build and deliver a robust pipeline for growth.
  • Experience in selling online executive education or blended learning solutions to corporate clients will be seen as a big advantage.
  • Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputed University. Master’s is seen as an added advantage.
  • Experience working for a rapidly growing company strongly desired.

Job Overview

The Business Development Manager plays a crucial role in understanding clients' needs for preparing content packages and driving revenue. The focus is on identifying emerging business opportunities and, in collaboration with the Managing Director, building long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve revenue targets for assigned accounts, involving online advertising placement, content/program sponsorship, content creation, SEO, and advertising campaign solutions.
  • Identify business opportunities aligned with our branded content and initiate programs to drive sales revenue, fostering long-term relationships and enhancing our market presence.
  • Approach prospects through personal connections, cold calls to clients and agencies, and arrange meetings.
  • Manage the entire deal process from proposal and presentation preparation to contract negotiation.
  • Maintain market competitiveness through regular competitive reviews.
Qualifications
  • University degree.
  • At least 3-4 years of experience in client/business development, digital content platforms, or client servicing (preferred).
  • Digital savvy with a results-driven approach and proven track record.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and a strong sense of responsibility.

  • Market Expansion: Responsible for developing cooperative business with overseas financial institutions (such as banks, payment institutions, fintech companies, etc.). Formulate and execute effective market expansion strategies to achieve set business objectives.
  • Financial Institution Relationship Management: Maintain close communication with existing partner financial institutions to build and nurture strong cooperative relationships.
  • Cooperative Solution Development: Develop customized cooperative solutions for potential partner financial institutions based on market needs and company product features. This includes product promotion and business cooperation models to drive partnership agreements.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Continuously monitor market dynamics, changes in policies and regulations, and competitor activities within the cross-border payment industry. Collect relevant information, conduct analysis, and provide insights to support company business decisions and product optimization.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher. Majors in Finance, International Trade, Marketing, or related fields are preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business development targeting overseas financial institutions ( banks, payment institutions, or other financial institutions). Familiarity with the cross-border payment industry is preferred .
  • Professional Knowledge & Skills: Solid financial knowledge. Familiarity with cross-border payment business processes and relevant policies/regulations.
  • Personal Attributes: Strong sense of ambition, responsibility, and initiative. Able to withstand significant work pressure.
