Overview

A Europe-based proprietary trading fund is expanding rapidly in Asia and seeking a Business Development Lead in Hong Kong to drive its APAC growth strategy. This senior individual contributor role will establish and lead the regional BD function, focusing on OTC deal flow, foundation/VC relationships, and strategic partnerships across crypto, TradFi, fintech, blockchain, and web3 ecosystems. Reporting directly to the Head of OTC & BD and working closely with the local COO, the role is central to building the firm’s presence in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Building and managing OTC pipelines with counterparties, liquidity providers, brokers, and exchanges
  • Driving strategic partnerships with foundations, VCs, projects, market makers, and institutional clients
  • Leading APAC CRM to support operational and administrative efficiency in Hong Kong
  • Identifying new revenue opportunities, including less visible routes into Mainland China
  • Representing the firm at conferences and industry events as the primary face of APAC operations
  • Collaborating with the Head of OTC & BD and global teams to directly influence trading performance and revenue growth

Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of relationship management experience, ideally with PnL delivery in digital assets, fintech, or payment ecosystems
  • Strong knowledge of APAC financial and digital asset markets (Hong Kong, Singapore, Mainland China, Taiwan, Korea, Japan)
  • Deep understanding of local cultural nuances, risks, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience with derivatives, options, trading, and credit products
  • English fluency required; Mandarin strongly preferred; Cantonese a plus
  • Track record in building institutional relationships with funds, family offices, token projects, and foundations

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our Hong Kong-based Greater China team, supporting our financial intermediary (FIT) sales efforts with a primarily focus on the retail wealth segment. Ideal candidates will have experience in the FIT business and a proven track record of sales success with integrated banks, retail banks and insurance channels. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in business intelligence, risk management, with good customer networks in the focus segment.
  • Proven track record in account management and consultative selling.
  • Strong understanding of the Retail, FMCG, Government, and Professional Services sectors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (spoken and written).
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and eager to drive business impact.
