What You'll Do:
- Conduct literature review and evaluation of hydrogen or metal energy carriers, focusing on chemical stability, reactivity, and system compatibility.

- Support patent development, product scaling, and regulatory compliance.
Who You Are:
- A motivated engineering professional with a background in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Engineering (Master's or PhD preferred).
- 8+ years of R&D experience, ideally in hydrogen, energy systems, catalysis, or related fields.

The MRDI is looking for a dynamic and high-calibre professional to fill the position of Engineer, Gases and Chemical.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with specialty gases (including toxic, corrosive and pyrophoric) cylinder operation.
- Conduct calibration and periodic testing of gas detection system (GMS), such as the operating principles of specialty gas detection systems, construction specifications, equipment operation specifications/processes, maintenance and upkeep, and the physicochemical properties of various substances.
- Be responsible for the planning of gas and chemical systems, including equipment selection, reviewing detailed drawings of gas and chemical systems, and strictly reviewing the quality issues of submitted materials and components.
- Be in charge of planning gas and chemical systems, which involves selecting equipment, reviewing detailed drawings of these systems, and carefully evaluating the quality of submitted materials and components.
- Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of gas and chemical supply systems, establishing and improving various regulations and safety operation manuals to ensure stable system operation, and responsible for organizing and analysing the usage of gas and chemicals.
- Perform fault analysis during daily operations and provide solutions for effectively preventing leaks and other unexpected situations, and familiarise with the emergency handling measures for special gases and chemical leaks.
- Be responsible for training new employees in professional skills.
- Act as a key member of emergency response team (ERT) during emergency situations, and work with safety team to resolve the problems.
- Maintain all systems at the optimal conditions to ensure the performance of those systems achieve highest operation standard.
- Keep all documentation and records of the system maintenance and formulate the correspondence Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the related works to facilitate ISO 9001 application and renewal.
- Participate in emergency response during emergency situations, and work with safety team to resolve the problem.
- Prepare yearly budget plan for maintenance and improvement work, conduct cost saving evaluation and execution.
- Perform administrative support and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related disciplines.
- Familiar with semiconductor industry vaporization systems and proficient in using related software tools with minimum 5 years' relevant working experience.
- Have hands-on experience of gas cylinder replacements and chemical handling.
- Priority will be given to those holding a safety certificate and hazardous materials management certificate.
- Familiar with safety regulation or with experience of cleanroom operation have advantages.
- Willing to participate in factory operations with shifts duty.
- Willing to work overtime, good at communicating, and possess strong teamwork skills.
- Good command in English and Chinese (both Putonghua and Cantonese).
Note: Candidate with less experience will also be considered for junior position.
The initial employment contract spans 12 months and can be renewed with a longer tenure upon mutual agreement of the incumbent and MRDI. The incumbent will normally work five days a week. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A gratuity of 15% of the salary will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
