The Information Specialist is part of the Global Investment Banking Information Services Group (ISG) and will work closely with other ISG members and bankers. This role offers an opportunity to enhance research knowledge in a fast-paced environment by providing on-demand financial, company, economic, industry data, and market research primarily to bankers in Jefferies' offices in Asia and Australia, as well as to Investment Banking Management in the APAC region. The Information Specialist will be the only team member in the region and will be strongly supported by the global team.

This position is responsible for supervising and leading the execution of corporate finance transactions including initial public offering, mergers, acquisitions, divestiture and other financial advisory transactions.

Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Supervise and execute corporate finance transactions;
- Lead due diligence and research efforts, and review business, financial and legal analyses on corporate finance transactions;
- Familiar with relevant rules and regulations in relation to corporate finance transactions;
- Take a supervision role, when necessary, in the firm’s pitching efforts, and provide advice on the firm’s pursuit of new business opportunities;
- Maintain close network and relation with market participants/ professional parties;
- Act as a member of CFCM Responsible Officer Approval Committee;
- Provide guidance and give feedback to CFCM staff as appropriate; and
- Assist Legal and Compliance in ensuring the firm’s compliance with relevant rules and regulations and timely responses to competent legal and regulatory authorities, and facilitate internal audit as and when necessary.
Requirements
- Degree holder in Finance or related discipline(s);
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in investment banking and financial industry;
- Proven track record of executing initial public offerings, mergers, acquisitions, divestiture and other financial advisory transactions in Hong Kong;
- In-depth knowledge of Rules Governing The Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, The Codes on Takeovers, Mergers and Share Buy-backs and other relevant Hong Kong regulatory requirements;
- Attained all required licenses for carrying out securities advisory activities;
- Excellent presentation and marketing skills;

Students in their penultimate year of university with an anticipated graduation date of Spring-Summer 2027 may apply for our Summer Analyst Program .
Summer Analyst responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Performing financial valuation, discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses.
- Assisting in preparation of pitchbooks and live deal materials, such as offering memorandums and prospectuses.
- Conducting industry & product research.
- Analyzing detailed corporate and financial information.
- Participating in the execution of financings and M&A transactions.
What we look for in a candidate
Successful Jefferies Summer Analysts will be able to multitask and manage a variety of projects simultaneously. They will have an opportunity to work on projects in Southeast Asia as well as greater China. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
The work is fast paced, intense and intellectually stimulating. The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines, be adaptable and work both independently and as part of a team are essential traits of a successful candidate. You should have a strong academic background on track in obtaining a minimum of a 3.5 GPA or equivalent and be in your penultimate year (completing the second year of a three-year degree, or third year of a four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent program). Although a background in accounting or finance is helpful, we hire Interns who have studied a variety of disciplines.
For our Singapore opportunity, candidates must hold a valid work permit/be a Singapore core citizen, in addition it would be ideal if candidates also possess spoken and written fluency in a Southeast Asian language.
Investment Banking
The Jefferies Hong Kong Investment Banking team focuses on the origination and execution of equity and M&A transactions for our Greater China and Asia clients. Our business in Greater China and Asia has a proven track record with tremendous deal momentum, which we continue to leverage to play an active role in M&A, initial public offerings and equity fundraises, cross-border financing across different sectors in the region. We have attained leadership in US initial public offerings for Chinese issuers in the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology space, as well as built a highly respected China franchise in the Healthcare and Technology sectors underpinned by our Senior Sponsor Bank roles in a number of high-profile Hong Kong IPOs.
We have recently brought in a number of experienced sector and coverage senior bankers to continue to grow our franchise in Asia. Our Investment Banking team works closely with teams in New York, London, Japan, Singapore and other regional offices as one global team in cross-border transactions. Leveraging our unparalleled global resources and network, Jefferies’ Hong Kong platform is well positioned to capitalize on the continued growth of Greater China and Asia economies.
