KPMG Transformation works with clients across all the above pillars to support their sustainability strategy design and implementation across topics such as ESG and Sustainability Strategy, Economic and Social Development, Sustainable Finance, Climate Change and Decarbonisation. Our team is small but expanding with committed investment support nationally. Our team will also work closely with our reporting, assurance and regulatory specialists to bring the right capability to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of high-quality client engagements and proposal under the direction of senior team members
- Supporting in research, data collection and analysis to inform the development of ESG strategies including but not limited to green and sustainable finance related advisory, emission baselining and net-zero/ carbon neutrality transition plan advisory, climate risk and opportunities assessment, SBTi target setting and validation, ESG data management and digital transformation advisory, green fintech market study and advisory etc.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of latest developments in sustainability, climate transition and green and sustainable finance including select sub-topics such as financed emission assessment, or sustainable finance framework and standards, green fintech development or sustainable supply chain management.
- Being passionate about areas of expertise, managing your own development by learning continuously from experience and seeking out development opportunities
Experience & Background
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Bachelor degree or above) in sustainability and climate transition, green and sustainable finance, carbon accounting for emission Scope 1, 2 and 3 (including Category 15 investment) and/or related disciplines such as green and sustainable finance, climate transition or decarbonization etc.
- Familiar with the latest regulatory landscape and ESG trends in financial sectors, preferably with previous working experience or project experience with banking sectors, asset management and/or insurance sectors
- Hands-on working experiences in financed emission assessment with reference to PCAF Standard and GHG Protocol for loan or investment portfolio, and bonus if have previously experience in decarbonisation target and transition roadmap setting for financial sectors
- Preferably for candidates who has received the qualification of CFA Sustainable Investing Certificate, GARP Sustainability & Climate Risk Certificate (SCR), and CESGA ESG AnalystAbility to think critically and take a challenging yet constructive approach
- Ability to work at pace, and at times under high pressure, while maintaining sound judgment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Fluent in both written and oral English; and proficient in Mandarin

Your key responsibilities

- Serve as a champion on certain CCaSS initiatives
To qualify for the role you must have/be
- Master or bachelor degree, major in environmental engineering/ energy/ finance/ economics/ literature etc.
- At least 3-5 years working experience
- Engaged in green bonds issuance assurance/verification/evaluation/rating, has knowledge of green finance consulting; or
- Engaged in environmental information disclosure, sustainable development report/CSR report/ESG report; or
- Engaged in environmental & social impact assessment; or
- Engaged in carbon trading, carbon emission verification; or
- Engaged in ESG investment etc.
- Experiences in team management, capacities of business development;
- Teamwork spirit, flexible to frequent business trip, good at communication, fluent in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Project Title: Assessing the Impact of an AI-Integrated Learning Platform on Senior Secondary Science Learning
(Appointment period: 12 months)
The appointee will participate in a large-scale donation project aimed at enhancing science learning among secondary school students through an AI-integrated learning platform. The appointee will be responsible for undertake research-related duties and providing research support for a collaboration project with the project advisors and team. Responsibilities include assisting in writing research and project proposals, conducting research activities (including qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis), contributing to the preparation of reports, seminars, meetings, and knowledge transfer events, aiding in the dissemination of findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, books/chapters, and reports; and supporting other research/evaluation duties related to the project. The appointment will be for approximately 12 months.
For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related discipline, with an understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques. For the post of Research Assistant II, applicants should have at least Level 2 or equivalent or above in five subjects including Chinese Language, English Language and Mathematics in HKDSE; or Grade E (Level 2) or above in five subjects including Chinese, English (Syllabus B) and Mathematics in HKCEE or equivalent. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in primary/secondary education sectors in Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as experience in educational research. Working experience in assisting school-based support projects offered by tertiary institutions and teaching experience in primary/secondary schools will be advantageous. Applicants should have a strong command of both written English and Chinese, and be able to speak Putonghua and Cantonese. They should also be capable of working independently, be good team players, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, pay attention to details, and be highly self-motivated, well-organized and able to work under pressure.
