As our business and client base continues to develop further, we now have a newly created opportunity for an experience AV Commissioning Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will work within our talented technical team and be responsible for providing technical support for the duration of projects; working with the Project Manager to carry out the testing, verification and optimization of integrated systems to enhance our client’s user experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure that the equipment specified is correct for the installation
- Work closely with the project managers and clients to ensure that all requirements specified are accounted for
- Maintain communication with the customer's IT department/supplier to ensure measures the customer is responsible for. This includes setting up the customer's network, access, permissions and configuration, etc.
- Communicate required system functionality to the control system programmers
- Perform system configuration for video, audio, control and network devices
- Test system racks to ensure they meet the requirements by identifying and rectify faults prior to shipping
- Commission equipment to the highest standard on site, including programming of audio DSP’s with audio tuning, setup of digital video systems and setup of video conferencing systems
- Participate in acceptance tests with the customer as needed
- Fault finding systems and resolving issues associated with design and manufacture
- Technical Training to the client during project handover
- Complete as built drawing and assist for handover documentation
- Excellent technical knowledge of AV & VC equipment from all major brands
- An up-to-date understanding of the AV marketplace including products and trends
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
- Ability to write DSP code (QSC, Biamp), fine tuning and maintain Kinly standards in DSP
- Familiar with system configuration for major brands
- Experience with advanced AV solutions
- Experience and expertise with configuration and troubleshooting of AV solutions, especially AV over IP
- Ability to commission control system and troubleshooting. Programming skill is a plus
- Good understanding of IT and networks

Monitor progress of work and ensure that technical quality, interdiscipline coordination and production requirements are met. Develop or assist in developing scopes of work and engineering design estimates. Ensure conformance to department design standards, procedures and specifications. Provide direction to in-house engineers during construction in quality control of working drawings and on-site implementation. Liaise with Authorities on submission approval and statutory inspections. May have Engineer of Record responsibility.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Professional registration in the field of electrical engineering. REW registration is required. Graduate of an accredited school of engineering, with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering/ Building Services degree. Advanced degree in the field of electrical engineering is desirable. Minimum 10 years of work experience in electrical engineering, with experience in the production and use of contract documents for commercial or industrial projects. Minimum of 3 years managing a team of electrical engineers and designers in the production of contract documents for construction. Experienced in the construction phase with submittal/shop drawing review process and on-site field inspections.
TECHNICAL AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS :
Electrical engineering design and analysis experience in the areas of power and controls. General knowledge of the electrical engineering discipline, including industry practices, construction methods and materials, codes, current technology and the preparation and use of contract documents in all phases of design and construction. Working knowledge of electrical control and low-voltage/telecommunications systems design is desirable. Proficient in the use of BIM technology, Revit and CAD for engineering design, production, and analysis. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, and to thrive in a highly collaborative, multi-discipline project team environment. - Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and contractors to carry out daily operation and maintenance work. Handle ad hoc work requisitions.
- Manage maintenance contracts, budgets, a team of in-house technical staff, and inventory planning.
- Plan and implement engineering services projects including major overhauling, capital replacement, and enhancement projects.
- Support the handover of new technical projects.
- Manage energy utilization, conduct energy audits, and perform data analysis.
- Oversee operation and maintenance of critical installations to ensure high uptime.
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure electrical and mechanical facilities are in good condition, including periodic reviews and inspections.
- Handle emergency breakdowns of electrical and mechanical facilities.
- Bachelor's Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience; less experienced candidates may be considered as Support Engineers.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for problem-solving and customer service.
- Leadership and project management skills to guide teams and contractors.
- Hands-on technical skills and experience in implementation.
- Expertise in Building Energy Management.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Power Project, Excel, AutoCAD, and Word; Power BI and BIM are a plus.
