Responsibilities

The Co-curricular Programs Team of Dean of Students’ Office is dedicated to nurturing student growth and community building through a holistic approach. By designing and facilitating impactful learning experiences in civic engagement, leadership, and teamwork, we empower students to flourish in their own paths and make positive impact in their communities.
We are now looking for a civic-minded and committed individual to join as Assistant Officer (Community Engagement) of HKUST Connect. The appointee will be expected to work closely with student bodies, internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of student development programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and implementing community engagement activities and experiential learning programs, managing partners relations and handling program administration such as promotion, records, and feedback survey/reports.
- Providing guidance and advising support to students in service and experiential projects to facilitate their learning and personal development.
- Supporting the team’s operation, including managing the program database and website, as well as liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned and may be required to work outside normal office hours on a need basis. Occasional travels outside Hong Kong may be required.
Requirements:
- Holder of a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with no more than 2 years' post-qualification experience.
- Enthusiastic about working with youth and empowering student development.
- Proactive and self-motivated, embracing a student-centric growth mindset.
- Strong team player with excellent problem-solving, project management skills, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua), and proficiency in PC applications.
Preference will be given to those with experience and a demonstrated passion for community service. Knowledge in database development and management is a plus. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
The new appointee will join a stable, high-performing team dedicated to empowering students through volunteering within the local community and experiential learning activities. The department has a strong record of delivering successful student development programs, and civic engagement programs in partnership with NGOs and social enterprises.

Position Description
With the mission of Pregnant Girls Services - “A safe place where pregnant girls in crisis are embraced, equipped and empowered for a hopeful future”, A caseworker plays the role in supporting pregnancy girls in crisis by providing case management activities support to pregnant girls and their family members in crisis through a range of program activities focused on information, education, empowerment & support. He/she is part of the team that works from strength based and youth & family driven perspective and participates in coalition and coordination efforts with other peer agencies providing similar services.

- Arrange intake within a designated time period to referral received
- Conduct case assessment and intervention for more complex cases taking into account a wide range of interdependent information
- Formulate service plan with girls and their significant others including measurable goals and timeframe based on holistic assessment of needs, strengths and risks
- Liaise and collaborate with agencies, governmental department and community partners when necessary to advocate the needs of the pregnant youth and their children
- Keep up-to-date and standardized service related documents including assessment and progress reports, program planning and evaluation, service statistics and other documentation as required
- Assist and faciliate support / therapeutic program to pregnant girls and their significant others
- Be responsible for mentoring new / less experienced staff including job shadowing and lead a simple case review
- Perform any other duties as required
- Bachelor degree in Social Work / Counseling / Family Therapy in recognized universities; and
- 1+ years of experience in working in NGOs / social service setting, preferably in youth or family service
- Passionate in serving pregnancy girls and their families in crisis and commitment to excellence
- Solid case management knowledge with strong assessment and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Must be a “team player” – this person needs to enjoy working closely with other skateholders and to be flexible, adaptive and positive in his/her actions

With the staunch support of TWGHs, TWC has been developing rapidly and built up a niche in healthcare education. It is the first self-financing tertiary institution offering five professionally accredited degrees to train nurses and allied health professionals such as medical laboratory technologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and radiation therapists. Besides, the College is also the first institution registered under Cap. 320 offering early childhood education degree and higher diploma programmes to train qualified kindergarten teachers and child care professionals.
Currently, TWC has 4 schools (namely School of Arts and Humanities, School of Management, School of Medical and Health Sciences, and School of Nursing) running a total of 19 degree, sub-degree, diploma, certificate and advanced certificate programmes in several disciplines. It has a student population of over 4,000 in 2024/2025.
Job Description
Being a young and vibrant institution, TWC aspires to become a leading private university in the long-term. It is planning to launch a number of new programmes, strengthen teaching and learning facilities and quality, and enhance research capability etc. in coming years. To cope with its continuous development, we are now inviting highly qualified candidates to fill the following post:
Responsibilities
The appointee will be required but not limited to:
- support all aspects of academic activities through teaching, research, and consultancy;
- contribute to the planning, formulation and implementation of the College and School’s strategic initiatives and development;
- participate in programme development and validation exercises;
- take up responsibilities in academic and departmental administration;
- guide / facilitate the College in enhancing its visibility and strengthening its local and international connections;
- take the initiative in promoting good teaching and collaborative research;
- supervise and support the work of lecturers involved in prescribed courses/programmes;
- teach courses / subjects according to the operational needs of the College;
- liaise with external bodies for job placements and professional development;
- engage in research and have publication output, in accordance with the workload requirements of the College;
- perform scholarly activities;
- increase the publication output and raise the level of consultancies in respective discipline(s);
- oversee / perform academic activities including academic advising, examination and assessment, student recruitment, committee works, whole person development activities of students;
- undertake professional service to external professional body / organization and provide public services to the community; and
- perform other duties as assigned.
The appointee should have:
- a PhD degree or equivalent professional Doctorate in a relevant discipline and registered social worker;
- some relevant experience in teaching, research or professional service;
- some experience in programme coordination and development;
- some experience in team leadership;
- ability to liaise and effectively communicate with relevant sections of the community, professional bodies, government departments and other external organizations; and
- track record in obtaining competitive research funding and publications in international peer review journals.
