Job Description
The Opportunity: Engineer the Core of Global Finance
Are you a pragmatic engineer who thrives on solving complex problems where performance is measured in microseconds and reliability is non-negotiable?
Pinpoint Asia is representing an elite global quantitative investment firm seeking a world-class Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their core technology team. This isn't a typical SRE role focused on web scaling or internal IT. You will be engineering the high-performance, ultra-low-latency backbone of a sophisticated systematic trading operation.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the absolute intersection of technology and finance, where your engineering decisions have a direct and immediate impact on the firm's success in global markets.
Your Mission: Build Unbreakable Trading Systems
As a key member of this engineering-first team, you won't just be responding to alerts. You will be a builder, an architect, and a force for stability and performance. Your mission will be to:
- Architect for Scale & Speed: Design, build, and maintain the scalable, ultra-reliable infrastructure that powers global trading and quantitative research.
- Automate Everything: Build the tools, frameworks, and automation that eliminate manual toil, reduce risk, and allow the entire engineering organization to move faster and with confidence.
- Achieve Total Observability: Develop and implement sophisticated monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues before they can ever impact trading.
- Partner with Quants & Developers: Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers and C++/Python developers to ensure new trading strategies and applications are built for resilience and peak performance from day one.
- Own Production: Be the ultimate guardian of the production environment, ensuring the highest standards of security, compliance, and operational excellence.
The Ideal Profile: A Builder with a Business Mindset
We are looking for a hybrid engineer who writes exceptional code but also possesses a deep understanding of systems architecture.
- Proven SRE/DevOps Experience: You have a track record of running mission-critical, high-availability systems. You live by the principles of automation and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong Coding & Systems Skills: You are proficient in a high-level language like Python for automation and tooling. Ideally, you are also comfortable reading or working with a systems language like C++ or C# to understand the low-latency applications you'll be supporting.
- Cloud & On-Prem Fluency: You have a strong grasp of modern system architecture, whether it's in the cloud (AWS, GCP) or on bare metal. You understand Linux, networking, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) inside and out.
- A Commercial Mindset: This is crucial. You think like a business owner and understand that system uptime and latency translate directly to financial outcomes. You can prioritize ruthlessly based on business impact.
- An Unflappable Problem-Solver: You have a deep-seated curiosity and can calmly navigate high-pressure situations to find the root cause of complex technical issues.
Why This is a Standout Opportunity
If you're a talented engineer, you have options. Here's why you should consider this one:
- Direct & Tangible Impact: There is no ambiguity. The systems you build and maintain are the engine of the firm. You will see the results of your work in the company's performance every single day.
- Fascinating Technical Challenges: Forget standard CRUD apps. You'll be solving problems in the realm of low-latency networking, high-throughput data processing, and distributed systems where every nanosecond counts.
- Work with an A-Team: You will be surrounded by some of the brightest minds in technology and finance who share a passion for solving hard problems with elegant, data-driven solutions.
- Exceptional Rewards & Growth: This role offers a highly competitive compensation package and the opportunity to grow in a meritocratic, engineering-led culture that invests heavily in its technology and its people.
If this outstanding opportunity sounds like your next career move, please submit your resume in Word format via the Quick Apply Button.
