The opportunity

The Finance Team works with clients to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their internal finance and accounting systems and processes. Finance team is designed to improve the performance of clients' finance and actuarial organizations and their businesses. We help organizations to achieve strategic alignment of their finance and actuarial organizations, help implement service and cost improvement initiatives and embed a performance management process and culture that unites the business around its core objectives.

Your key responsibilities
:

  • Provide recommendations to our clients on improvements to the financial statement close process, contributing to the design and delivery of Target Operating Model
  • Delivery of controls and process uplift and improvement through rationalisation, improvement and automation
  • Data mapping and analysis to support finance process and controls improvements
  • Assist in developing automated accounting and financial reporting solutions to suit the ambition and needs of our clients financial reporting teams to support the preparation of their financial and management reporting
  • Support testing activities for finance systems (SIT/UAT/E2E) and assist with issue resolution and documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-border teams and communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure project success

Skills and attributes for success

  • Strong client service orientation and excellent communication skills
  • Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting processes within the financial services industry
  • Experience in IFRS 17 implementation, reporting or audit is preferred
  • Knowledge of SOX requirements and robust ICFR frameworks
  • Knowledge of financial reporting tools (e.g. Workiva, Alteryx) and/or general ledger ad sub-ledger (e.g. SAP, SAS, Aptitude, Oracle) a plus
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project-management skills
  • Self-starter with proactive mindset and ability to work independently

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline. Professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in audit or finance, where the experience of working for Big4 firms and/or financial sector (banking and/or insurance) is preferred
  • Good comprehensive understanding of the Finance function
  • Able to communicate with seasoned Finance professionals of EY clients confidently
  • Good understanding of IFRS 17/ LDTI is desired
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin is preferred

Who We Are Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, advantage with specific expertise in penetration testing and/ or simulation attacks. Candidate with more experiences will be considered for a senior role.
  • Experience with Big4 or similar consulting firms. Experience in virtual assets, blockchain technology, or related fields is highly preferred.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the client and project management in the delivery stage including scope, resource planning, timeline and user communication to ensure timely and high quality delivery of services with optimal firm resource utilization
  • Assist to develop and review technical solution implementation road map to achieve the strategic goals of the client and facilitate business development through adoption of suitable technologies
  • Manage projects including solution evaluation, proposal preparation, project initiation and planning, risk assessment and mitigation, reporting and documentation preparation, change management
  • Collaborate with different stake holders and business partners to achieve project objectives in an effective and efficient manner

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Master or Bachelor degree holder with major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Risk Management, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience within a consulting firm, a bank or other financial institution's risk management, IT Project Management, and related business functions
  • Experience in developing and validating business requirement, user requirement and solution development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, good command of written and spoken Chinese and English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and to work independently
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
