Farmacy is a leader in green smart-living technology, delivering 100% Hong Kong-grown, pesticide-free, nutrient-dense produce through decentralized, data-driven indoor smart farming systems. SEED by Farmacy, located at Cyberport, is Asia’s first restaurant to integrate a fully operational smart indoor farm, showcasing a seed-to-table philosophy that transforms fresh produce into modern European cuisine with Asian influences. We are seeking a Manager, Sustainable Culinary & Operations to lead SEED’s culinary vision and oversee the integration of Farmacy’s sustainable produce across its partner network and educational institutions. This role combines high-end hospitality expertise with innovative agricultural practices to drive Farmacy’s mission of reducing food waste, carbon emissions and water consumption.
Responsibilities
- Culinary Leadership at SEED by Farmacy : Oversee menu development at SEED, collaborating with chefs to create innovative dishes that highlight Farmacy’s hydroponic herbs, edible flowers, and microgreens, ensuring maximum freshness and nutritional value.
- Farmacy Produce Integration : Manage the integration of Farmacy’s smart farming systems into SEED and partner kitchens, ensuring seamless supply chains and adherence to 100% pesticide-free, nutrient-dense standards.
- Team Development & Mentorship : Lead and train culinary and service teams across SEED and Farmacy’s partner network, fostering a culture of sustainability and service excellence.
- Event & Workshop Curation : Design and execute seed-to-table dining experiences, workshops, and farm tours at SEED and Farmacy’s partner locations, engaging schools, corporates, and communities to showcase the transparent growing process and promote sustainable eating.
- Brand Ambassadorship : Act as a brand ambassador for Farmacy and SEED, promoting the seed-to-table philosophy and sustainability mission through partnerships, public outreach, and collaborations with entities like InvestHK and Cyberport.
- Operational Excellence : Ensure operational efficiency across SEED’s restaurant operations and Farmacy’s produce supply chains, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and sustainability in line with Farmacy’s environmental goals.
- Sustainability Advocacy : Champion Farmacy’s vision of reducing carbon emissions, water usage, and food waste by integrating sustainable practices into culinary and operational processes, and educating stakeholders on the benefits of smart farming.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of work experience in luxury hospitality, with leadership roles in high-end restaurants or hotels.
- Proven expertise in food and beverage operations, team mentorship, private event staging, and brand management.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality related field required.
- Strong passion for sustainability, innovative agricultural practices, such as hydroponics or urban smart farming.
- Fluency in English; Cantonese / Mandarin would be a plus.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a track record of driving operational excellence and aligning with sustainability-focused brands.
