What's the role?

We’re looking for a passionate, motivated, highly technical, client-facing individual to join our team. As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll be providing programming, architecture, and best practice consultation directly to our internal and external clients for the integration of our Enterprise Data products and services.

You’ll be eager to develop your understanding of Bloomberg Enterprise Data Products and our customer base to technically lead client engagements and provide a third tier of technical expertise for complex issues. You’ll drive partnerships with other teams to understand client requirements, communicate product improvements, and assist with all client development needs. You’ll adopt and embrace our cultural and innovative best practices and solutions to quickly and accurately identify and address highly technical problems. You’ll be solution-focused, able to quickly and accurately perform detailed and meaningful diagnostic work and troubleshooting, developing additional tools where you see a need internally or for our clients. You’re a programming and technical professional who is personable, intelligent, commercially aware, analytical, and solution-driven. You are not afraid of getting your hands dirty and making independent decisions when the situation demands.

We’ll Trust You To

  • Work closely with technical and market data contacts at client firms to understand their requirements and help them build out solutions using Bloomberg’s Enterprise Data Technology such as BLAPI and the DL API
  • Collaborate with global peers, Sales, Technical Account Managers, and Service Delivery teams to drive critical client onboarding initiatives, technology partnerships, and highly technical projects
  • Consistently apply a strategic and proactive mindset, seeking out new ideas and compelling ways to integrate our diverse product offerings to create significant value for clients, and implement these ideas to drive stronger product performance
  • Provide technical development guidance, leadership, and structure to Enterprise Data clients
  • Cultivate deep technical partnerships with key members of the client development community
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships with clients, engineering, and product development teams to resolve issues or build out enhancements
  • Actively identify potential areas of improvement or gaps in internal tools and monitoring systems to propose and deliver solutions
  • Administer training to clients for coding to our API during the pre-sale, implementation, and adoption phases of an engagement
  • Support the developer community around Bloomberg's data delivery mechanisms
  • Provide timely and informative feedback to the Enterprise Data Product teams
  • Take ownership of complex questions and issues reported by clients as a second tier of technical support via phone calls, ticket systems, email, and in person

You’ll Need To Have

  • Client-facing experience in a technical solutions focused role (including but not limited to support, implementation, solution engineering) within the past 5 years
  • Professional level experience with two of the following software development languages: Python, Java, .NET, C++ and C#
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple concurrent technical engagements
  • A proactive and inquisitive nature, with an interest in exploring new ideas and product integrations
  • Be comfortable addressing small to medium-sized audiences during events or training sessions
  • Ability to engage a range of client types from developers to CTOs
  • Experience programming in Linux and/or Windows
  • Excellent analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Experience writing readable example code
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization
  • Strong presentation and communication skills in English
  • Fluency in Mandarin, as this role will have regional coverage, including mainland and Greater China-based customers

We’d Love To See

  • Exposure to and understanding of financial data, especially real-time market data
  • Knowledge of market data distribution platforms and feed handlers
  • Experience developing on public cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Knowledge and experience of big data, data science, and cloud technologies (Pandas, Jupyter, Terraform, Spark, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge and experience with Hypermedia APIs.
  • Experience with database/datalake technologies such as SQL, NoSQL.
  • Exposure to architectural design to facilitate client adoption of Bloomberg's Enterprise Data products and services

Job Description:

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on data leader to join our team as Associate Director – Data Curation & Insights Delivery. This role is pivotal in driving the data engineering implementation of data curation use cases of our enterprise data platforms, with a strong focus on governance, quality, performance and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering for business value enabled use cases
  • Lead the Data Curation Squad to implement scalable code across Data Hub and Lakehouse environments.
  • Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Operations to ensure robust data pipelines, orchestration, and automation.
  • Data Governance & Quality Engineering
  • Partner with Data Governance teams to deploy data engineering for embedding metadata, lineage, and data quality controls into data assets.
  • Develop and embed data engineering for data access policies, role-based controls, and compliance standards.
  • Operational Excellence
  • Manage the performance and reliability of data engineering code, using robust DevSecOps procedures, ensuring SLAs are met.
  • Lead incident response and root cause analysis for data engineering issues, driving continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership
  • Mentor and manage a team of data engineers and business system analysts.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as a key liaison between business, IT, and governance stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into data engineering requirements.
  • Cloud & Cost Management
  • Leverage AWS cloud services to optimise performance and cost.
  • Monitor infrastructure usage and propose cost-saving strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data management, or analytics.
  • 5+ years of experience in delivering data curation and data engineering for large financial institutions, preferably from Insurance domain.
  • Proven leadership in managing enterprise data platforms and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure/AWS/ GCS cloud environments and data engineering for data lakehouse, data governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English.

We are looking for a Director to join our CORDS team in Hong Kong. This position will support the Firm Institutional Securities and International Wealth Management business in the Asia Pacific region.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships, driving strategic automation solutions by embracing a transformation mindset and challenging the status quo.

This is a Team Specialist position at Director within Risk, Regulatory & Resilience, which performs various independent functions to ensure adequate controls are in place. We do this by providing an integrated risk and control framework to govern, assess, mitigate and manage financial and operational risk in Operations.

What You'll Do

> Perform Client Due Diligence review in support of the Firm new client onboarding and existing client regular review in accordance with the applicable regulatory program requirements (such as UK, US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia KYC requirements and applicable market regulatory standards)

> Manage and supervise the teams responsible for performing Client Due Diligence review for new client onboarding and/or periodic review.

> Prepare regular status update metrics to the regional manager

> Act as a first point of escalation for daily processing

> Escalate issues in a timely manner to the regional manager

> Proactively suggest process improvement ideas for the processes performed by the team

> Handle Global client identification and know your client documentation checks on both new and existing relationships of the firm

> Deliver results with good quality in a timely manner and within required deadlines/time frame

> Establish good working relationships with regional teams and internal clients in various jurisdictions

> Respond to change e.g. regulation change, new business and/or technology projects and provide solutions to enhance and/or implement controls and processes

> Understand the front to back of our roles and have a sound understanding of audit related requirements.

> Ability to handle volume spikes and prioritize work including ad-hoc requests and projects to meet business demands in a timely manner

> Manage audit or policy change related remediation work and deliver high quality results

> Manage interactions with Internal Audit and Compliance testing as well as other internal control organizations

> Establish effective supervisory controls, checks and procedures and manage any change in procedures and requirements

> Respond to changes driven by client profile change or other internal changes e.g. client org change, new directors, etc.

> Validate changes, assess impact, communicate and execute changes where needed

> Update and maintain client data via RTB and Periodic Review Process

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Data Business department and play a role to deliver data related initiatives. Platform Solutions team is responsible for planning and delivering solutions that align with the business and the exchange.

Job Duties:

The successful applicant will join the Data Business Department and support the team in platform development and project management. In this role, a good blend of business and technical expertise is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business users to understand business requirements and identify necessary technological enhancements.
  • Conduct business and technical analysis from a business and technical perspective. Evaluate and validate the possible solution into production.
  • Gather requirements by understanding the business rationale and document requirements.
  • Participate in the preparation and execution of UAT testing, test planning, test cases, training materials, and other relevant documentation.
  • Project manage projects, tracking progress and risks against scope, schedule, and costs, in coordination with business and IT departments.
  • Provide end-to-end project management for the business initiative and ensure that projects are delivered on time and within the budget and scope.
  • Prepare and coordinate project proposals, including the business justification, execution plan, financial projection, risk factors, and mitigation, to support the internal committee and board approval process.
  • Develop and maintain all project documentation and artifacts throughout different project phases.
  • Perform risk management analysis, identify and escalate any foreseeable project risks on a timely basis, and provide resolution.
  • Collaborate across teams on the execution of market data projects, identify new business opportunities, and drive departmental business planning.
  • Assist in analyzing market data industry and market trends to support the business strategy.

Requirements:

  • Degree in IS/ Finance / Business
  • 10+ years of working experience as Business Analyst/Project manager, preferably gained from Banking /Brokerage / FinTech industry. Candidate with less experience will be considered as the AVP.
  • Good understanding of financial products, trading lifecycle, database and system architecture
  • Experience in Business analysis and working with business and IT stakeholders
  • Excellent Project management skills with proven track record working across full life cycle of a project
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-starter and fast learner, with an innovative mindset
  • Proficiency in both written/spoken English and Cantonese. Mandarin is a plus.
