About The Role
The candidate will be a passionate and forward-thinking GenAI Data Scientist to support company’s key business initiatives and projects. S/he will be responsible for curating and developing technical capabilities for the Data Science Team, from gatekeeping the choice of technologies to the implementation of technical solutions.
The right person for this role will be someone who has experience in driving scalable technical solutions in data and AI projects. We expect the candidate to be open-minded, have good interpersonal skills, supportive of the development of the team and can drive business objectives through collaboration. We expect the candidate to be a hands-on thought leader, capable of both high-level strategic thinking as well as hands on ability to execute.
Roles And Responsibilities
Functional Duties (80%)
- Design and implement data and AI models to support use cases for various business functions.
- Promote re-use and cross business function awareness of best practices, challenges, etc.
- Build and launch excellent productionalized, low-maintenance models and AI solutions.
- Explore and leverage state of the art AI/ML techniques for a variety of problems at the intersection of AI/ML.
- Develop, maintain and enhance AI/ML solutions that are highly usable, scalable, secure, and able to be utilized in high volume distributed data.
- Partner with architecture team, application teams and data analytics platform team to streamline our systems architecture, tech stack, and internal framework to support a central analytics function.
- Lead efforts to select and implement the AI and analytics technologies required to support AIA HK business initiatives.
- Drive technology investments that utilize AI and analytics as strategic tool.
- Define the most important growth metrics that track the business’s performance across different functions and utilize those to affect change.
- Partner with stakeholders within the organization to identify and execute on analytical needs/gaps.
- Experience developing and deploying AI/ML solutions in a public cloud such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Promote and educate responsible use of AI to all stakeholders in the organization
- Direct activities of a team of data scientist and analysts, and project team members.
- Identify, train and develop potential data scientists.
- Implement staff management activities to align with company directive.
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant experience, at least 1 year in GenAI
- Excellent analytical capability and understanding of various AI and analytical techniques
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Azure Cloud (or other cloud providers), secure provisioning on AOAI, API servicing (Docker, Kubernetes), big data open-source solutions such as Spark
- Knowledge and experience of Software Development best practices (CI/CD pipelines, version control, etc)
- Demonstrated skill, comfort, and success in leading teams to deliver on AI and analytics projects.
- A track record of using quantitative analysis to inform commercialization decisions and product roadmaps.
- Demonstrated business acumen, analytical skills and ability to link strategies to business priorities and initiatives.
- Proven track record of delivering results in a dynamic high-growth environment with aggressive timelines.
- Ability to proactively identify gap and address AI and data analytics related issues
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new business domains and technologies.
- Ability to conceptualize and articulate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Hands-on experience with modern enterprise data architecture and data science toolkits.
- Sound problem solving and decision-making ability
- Proven ability to identify innovation opportunities, define and deliver innovative business function
- Ability to work independently and with team members from different backgrounds
- Sound business knowledge in insurance industry
- Excellent communication, presentation, consultative and interpersonal skills

About The Role
