Key Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the Data Governance framework to ensure compliance with global standards and regulatory requirements.
- Establish governance for regulatory reporting data by defining Key Data Elements (KDEs) and managing metadata, data lineage, data quality control, and data ownership.
- Operationalize data governance practices, particularly using Collibra, to facilitate effective data management.
- Collaborate with various business units to leverage data analytics, tackle business challenges, enhance operational efficiencies, and identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor and improve data quality and integrity, ensuring compliance with regulatory reporting standards, including BCBS 239.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes, particularly concerning data policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years of experience in data-related disciplines (e.g., Data Management, Data Governance, Data Analytics).
- Subject Matter Expertise with extensive hands-on experience in implementing data governance and management practices within banking and financial institutions.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for banks, including regulatory reporting and BCBS 239 standards.
- Proficient in data governance tools, especially Collibra, and automation tools like Alteryx.
- Knowledge of relevant ordinances (e.g., HKMA) and current trends in Data Policy and Procedures.
- Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau, with a proven ability to develop interactive and insight-driven management dashboards and business reports.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Data Security and Compliance to spearhead the development and enforcement of access management frameworks and data risk policies across multiple data lakes in Asia, while ensuring alignment with global standards. This role is critical in maintaining regulatory compliance across ten markets and managing key data risks within the Asia Data Office.
Position Responsibilities
Access Management
- Framework Development: Design, implement, and maintain robust access management frameworks and policies to ensure secure and efficient data access across Asia’s data lakes.
- Policy Integration: Collaborate with global teams to align regional access policies with global standards.
- Access Controls: Regularly monitor and audit access controls to ensure compliance with internal policies and security protocols.
- User Access Management: Oversee role-based access provisioning, ensuring appropriate access levels based on responsibilities.
- Technology Enablement: Partner with IT and architecture teams to implement tools and technologies that support access governance.
- Governance Oversight: Ensure effective governance of data access, maintaining data integrity, security, and availability.
- Quality Initiatives: Lead efforts to standardize and harmonize data access processes across the region.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure adherence to data governance policies by all stakeholders.
- Compliance Monitoring: Track and ensure compliance with data access regulations across ten markets, adapting policies as needed.
- Regulatory Liaison: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to meet local and international regulatory requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of access policies and procedures.
- Risk Identification & Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate data privacy and security risks. Lead Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Risk Execution: Own and execute Information Risk Assessments (IRAs) for the Asia Data Office.
- Audit & Compliance: Conduct regular audits to ensure ongoing compliance with privacy and security laws. Implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Incident Response: Lead response efforts for data breach incidents, including investigation, reporting, and remediation.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates on data risk status and mitigation strategies to the Asia Chief Data Officer and senior leadership.
- Training & Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to promote a culture of privacy and data security awareness.
- Cross-Functional Engagement: Collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, architecture, engineering, and business teams to ensure cohesive access management.
- Culture Building: Promote data stewardship and accountability across the organization.
- Solution Design: Work closely with solution and data architects to design access management solutions aligned with business and regulatory needs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in access management, data governance, or risk management.
- Experience in a multinational organization with a focus on Asia.
- Professional certifications such as CIPP, CRISC, or CDMP.
- Strong knowledge of access frameworks, governance policies, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in technologies such as SQL, Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Data Factory, Cosmos DB, and Databricks.
- Foundational understanding of emerging technologies like Generative AI and OpenAI.
- Demonstrated experience in managing data risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

For more information, please visit more information about FWD Hong Kong, please visit are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to implement the QA framework within our Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) program including but not limited to, Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery & Corruption (ABC), and Anti-Fraud. This person will be responsible for conducting QA reviews across all FWD operating Business Units and driving different data analysis to understand the AML and sanctions risk in the company. This role is critical in ensuring the effectiveness and consistency of FCC controls throughout the insurance business, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining strong compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
The Job
Drive different data analysis to study the AML and Sanctions risk of the company.
Conduct market research to understand the AML control in local market.
Support the Compliance Quality Assurance team lead to monitor and review Anti Money Laundering (AML) control to ensure that the company’s operation complies with regulatory and internal requirements.
Support the team lead to develop the Compliance testing framework.
Create comprehensive testing methodologies. Implement, maintain, and enhance a robust QA program to assess the effectiveness of FCC processes across all departments, including but not limited to name screening, customer due diligence (CDD), premium collection, transaction monitoring and data quality in the AML system.
Prepare QA reports with detailed findings and recommendations within agreed timelines. Follow up on management responses and remedial actions.
Any ad hoc assignments or tasks that may be delegated from time to time.
Degree holder in Computer Science, Business Administration or Information Systems is preferable.
Minimum 3 years of working experience in insurance industry.
Minimum 2 years of data analytics experience. Hands-on experience in conducting AML related data analysis and review.
Familiar with insurance related legislations and regulatory requirements in Hong Kong and Bermuda.
Exposure in AML system implementation is an advantage.
Fluent in written and spoken English & Cantonese.
Detailed person with strong analytical and research skills.
Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Knowledge in programming such as Python, VBA or SQL is a strong plus.
Able to work under pressure and meet all deadlines.
Able to work independently and to make prompt decisions.

As a Senior Data Management Associate within the South & South-East Asia Country CDO team, you will play a pivotal role in implementing our data management strategy, facilitate the day-to-day activities to manage and drive resolution across different risk pillars and lead/coordinate short to medium-term projects. You will partner the Country CDOs in the team to ensure that data policies and standards are consistently applied across various business lines and functions for the 9 countries within the team’s coverage. Your role will also involve coordinating specific data work streams and managing reporting/metrics to support governance meetings. Additionally, you will contribute to fostering a global culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. This position offers the opportunity to build strong partnerships with various teams and promote a data culture across all Lines of Business & Corporate Functions.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the Country CDOs in the day-to-day management of Data Issues and driving consistent application of the Firmwide Data Risk Management Policy and Standards and local regulatory requirements.
- Support the Country CDOs in the discharging of their Supervisory/Regulated roles; e.g. Data Protection Officer (DPOs) responsibilities.
- Prepare the Metrics used for the monitoring and escalation of Data Issues to Country Governance Forums.
- Lead Short to Medium-Term Projects on Regulatory Change Gap Assessment and Implementation, developing detailed project plans, maintaining active status tracking, and producing comprehensive project reports and communications.
- Lead Project Management Task including the tracking of deliverables from inception through completion, preparing of essential artifacts, coordinating with subject matter experts, and providing support during stakeholder meetings.
- Promote outstanding results by leading through influence, managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
- Drive Diversity and Inclusion: Contribute to a global culture that prioritizes diversity, opportunity, and inclusion by participating in and supporting initiatives through the CDAO DOI Council and the CDAO People Agenda.
- Raise awareness of data culture across all Lines of Business/Corporate Functions.
- Foster strong partnership with the businesses and corporate functions (Business Managers, Operations and Technology teams).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualifications.
- At least 4 years of experience in financial institutions
- Strong aptitude to work with a wide range of lines of business and functions.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to tailor a message to various levels of management.
- Highly motivated individual with excellent time management & organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (incl PitchPro).
